Introduction Being a fussy drinker, tea and water are always my
choice of beverage.
I didn’t like fizzy drinks as they leave an artificial sweetened aftertaste in
my mouth after the drink is finished. So usually I’ll order tea or ice tea to accompany my food.
Tea as we probably all know is beneficial for our health in many ways,
to relieve stress, to replenish energy or even just using tea as a beverage of enjoyment to invite friends over for a good chit chat on a Sunday afternoon.
But just how can we apply drinking tea and all these health benefits into
our lives? Introducing tea for the soul, catered to add nourishment to your soul. In this book I wish to address the different teas and little facts about them that we can implement them in our daily lives,
attuned to the moods and the state of our very beings.
For the health conscious tea nuts, this is a book of fun adventure, in English and partially mandarin.

It isn’t always bad though as stress can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But in the long term, your mind and body has to pay the price. Take a breather, take a stroll, get away from work for a while then work on it again with full drive!

Valerian and Chamomile Tea

Chill, relax, take a break, everything will be okay.
Valerian & chamomile
will assist in helping you to relax. Neither of these herbs will make you drowsy; nor will they affect mental alertness. For the best results, drink this tea after work and again just before you go to bed. It can also be drunk at any time during the day.

V Makes 1 cup (8 fl oz/250ml) serves 1

1/2 1/2 teaspoon dried valerian root 1/2 1/2 teaspoon dried chamomile 1 1 cup (8 fl oz/250ml) boiling water

honey (optional)
Note that Valerian has a strong taste and smell.
V Combine the valerian and chamomile in a warmed small ceramic or glass teapot or cup. Add the boiling water, cover, and let steep for 5-10 minutes. Strain, then drink while it is hot or allow it to cool first. At bedtime, you can sweeten this tea with 1 teaspoon of honey for a great nightcap.

Unhealthy as it may be, there are times when one have to finish accumulating projects sacrificing sleep. Here’s something you can drink in helping you tide through the night. Tea contains only half the amount of caffeine that coffee does. The caffeine in tea is known as theophylline and theobromine, which are much milder and gentler stimulants than the caffeine found in coffee and have fewer side effects. Keeping your morale high with music, supper and positive thinking help too!

Siberian Ginseng, Nettle, and Licorice Tea

Alternatively, you can try black tea too, the tea with the highest caffine. If you are always on the go, with a hectic schedule, a demanding job, and family pressures, you should make lifestyle changes to alleviate your sleep-sapping stress. This tea will pick you up in no time. The Siberian Ginseng has medicinal properties in giving endurance, which should temporary keep you awake for some time.
Combine the nettle, licorice, and Siberian ginseng in a warmed ceramic or glass teapot. Add the boiling water, cover, and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain and then drink 1 cup for every 3 hours or so. If you omit the Siberian ginseng because it is not available, this tea will still be a good general pick-me-up.

Ginger has strong yang energy and warms the stomach and lungs If you feel a cold coming on, drink this tea quick! It will help to expel heat from your body, bringing on a good sweat to help your body fight the infection and cool down. Licorine is a sweet and pleasanttasting herb. Ginger is hot and warming; the quantity might need to be adjusted to suit your taste buds. The more ginger you use the better its effect.

This fragrant tea will fill your kitchen with the rich scents of cardamom, licorice, and fennel. How about something that is hot and spicy and more elaborate to prepare for this crazy bored day? Hot tea is lovely served after a meal, during a midday break, or in the evening when you want to unwind. In the meantime get ready your hats and party the day away!
V In a large saucepan over high hear, bring water and spices to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes. Add tea leaves, remove from heat, and cover. Let steep 3 to 5 minutes. Mix in sugar and milk, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour tea through a fine mesh strainer into mugs and serve immediately.

Had a great day today? Whatever makes you happy, sustain it! This slow-steep tea is perfect for making on lazy summer days, a good companion for a bright happy day! A tall glass of iced tea on a hot day is a summertime classic. Light and refreshing. To prevent tea from becoming cloudy, use spring or filtered water, allow hot tea to cool at room temperature before refrigerating, and consume tea within 24 hours.

V Place tea leaves in a transparent pitcher with tight-fitting lid. Pour in water, cover, and place outdoors in full sun. Let steep 2 to 3 hours. Afterwhich pour tea through a strainer into another pitcher. Refrigerate until chilled. To serve, pour over ice cubes into a glass. Serve with sugar syrup and lemon juice on the side, if desired.

Rose Petal Romance Tea

What could be more romantic than drinking rose petals? In this herbal tea recipe, the delicate flavor of rose petals is enhanced by spicy cinnamon and sweet orange. Delicious hot and refreshing cold, it is the perfect drink for an evening with that special someone.
V Heat water to boiling. Then put in the rose petals, chamomile and orange zest in a tea ball or tie them up in cheesecloth. Place the herbs in the cup along with the cinnamon stick. Pour water over the herbs and steep for 5 minutes or to taste. Lastly sweeten with honey, if desired.
