IThis project mainly focus on using light, especially natural light in the building. In order to introduce more light , this project contains 4 strategies for light using—Barrel, Bowl and Stitch. Barrel represents 5 big light channels which introduce light from the top to the bottom. Bowl is a pyramid pond, which not only create landscape in the yard, but also give the gallery special feeling of sacred. Stitch means stitch-like window between each unit and it let light come in from side.

YARD BRIDGE
ACADEMIC WORK YEAR: 2012 TYPE: Public Building LOCATION: Beijing, China PROGRAM: Street art studio, Auditorium, Exhibition space The key problem of this project is to mix the street art and public activities together. We build a bridge across the river. The bridge will not only solve the traffic problem, but also guide the public into the exhibition yard of the street art. Besides these functions, the bridge also give the street artists a free place to practice. We abstract the yard from the local dwellings. The display wall in the yard can be rotated, which will create a variety of space in different size to meet different needs of exhibition and public activities.
