Plane - Timeline of Chinese Civil Airplane
China's civil aviation industry grew under the influence of the Beiyang Government and the Nanjing Government before the People's Republic of China was founded.
All civil aircraft used during this period were piston propeller type, mainly including German-made: Junkers, Junkers F-13, Junkers G-24, Junkers W-33-34, Junkers JU-52; American-made: Stimson, DC-2.
In the 1950s, China purchased the IL-14 aircraft from the Soviet Union to undertake special flights and domestic passenger and cargo transportation, and in 1959, the Civil Aviation Administration purchased the IL-18 aircraft from the Soviet Union, marking the transition from the use of piston propeller aircraft to the use of turboprop aircraft in China's civil aviation.
China's independently developed and manufactured Yun(Y)-5, also known as Harvest-2, carried out its first successful flight in December 1957.
On February 21, 1972, U.S. President Richard Nixon visited China on Air Force One - B707 aircraft, marking the arrival of the "Boeing era" in China's civil aviation.
As of 2007, of the nearly 1,200 civil aircraft operating in China, more than half were Boeing aircraft, with the most heavily used being the B737 series.
On the basis of the Yun(Y)-5, China has developed the Yun(Y)-8, Yun(Y)-10, Yun(Y)-11, Yun(Y)-12 and other aircraft.
In the mid-1960s, the demand for new wide-body airliners from several European airlines led to the birth of Airbus S.A.S. (Airbus) and its A300 airliner. Airbus has been in China since 1985, and at the end of 1995, there were 29 Airbus aircraft in civil aviation, accounting for 7% of the total number of aircraft. In terms of aircraft type, China basically has all series of Airbus aircraft, including the A300 series, 310 series, 320 series, 330 series, 340 series and the new model A380.

Shiki-Shima Dining Car
Operation Date: 1 May 2017
Location: Japan
Capacity: 34
Program: 2 Observation car, 6 sleeping car (17 suites), 1 lounge, 1 dining car
Designer: Ken Kiyoyuki Okuyama
Material & Furniture
The warm interior of this dining room features traditional Japanese craftsmanship in every piece of furniture, including tables, chairs, and the walls, as well as subtle indirect lighting.
DESIGN CONCEPT:
Along the way, the train passes terraced rice fields, mountains, and the seacoast, passing ancient shrines and temples, working farms and vineyards, and artisanal ateliers. An elegant dining experience is enhanced by the stunning views from the train windows that change throughout the day, in the afternoon, and at night, as well as the rhythmic sounds of the train along the tracks. Besides, the layout of the two-seater tables and the design of the interior make the train appear to be more spacious than regular tourist trains.
Autumn is the theme of the dining car, and you can see the fine wooden panels that illustrate this. And there's some very soft light coming down from the modern chandelier.

TRAIN | CONCEPT STATEMENT
The concept for this interior design project for Amtrak's sleeper and dining cars is to create a comfortable and flexible space that enhances the travel experience for passengers.
The design incorporates prefabricated pods in the sleeper car with curtains for privacy and a partition system that allows for a more spacious environment when desired. The dining car features modular and deformable tables and chairs, as well as multiple seating options, bars, food vending machine and lounge areas that allow passengers to dine while taking in the breathtaking views of the mountains and coastlines. Moreover, the curtain, acting as a canvas, captures the ever-changing outdoor views, bringing them to life in the room.
