the sound of high heels striking the pavement. That’s the sound of the weekendlovers label. The weekend is most appealing after a week in which talents and possibilities are used, where time was not just wasted. The essential is the passion for the things one does, whatever they may be. The weekend becomes like an award, a way to break out, discover something new or do something totally different. All this comes to a bitter end on a Monday, sometimes a Tuesday. wkndlvrs is the expression of this lifestyle. It’s the smudgy lipstick on the pillow in a strange bed. The hotel room in which you wake up with scruffy hair, but refuse to steal away from it clandestinely. Instead, you prefer appearing in a silk jersey and an oversize shirt with last nights’ new acquaintance among the other well off ladies and comfortably enjoying an Oyster breakfast. The pieces show off their everyday suitability especially under these kinds of circumstances. The range flows from tank top to boyfriend shirt, floor length bohemian skirt to sequined evening dresses. Naked edges, removed cuffs and dip dye discolorations are all part of the concept. The scarf collection invites you on a journey through time. Kept in a vintage look, it highlights the urban absurdism and serves as an ironic reminder that what we look for tonight with our friends, with our glasses, with our dreams, as the early morning becomes merely the past. But the bright colors, clouds of bleached patterns on the scarves contradict, as if they want to shout, “Something remains from the night! The world is not as black and white as it sometimes seems.”
