Design Programming

Overview

Design Programming showcases a programming document centered around a small commercial type business. For this project, I chose a boutique named. “Stained Rain.” Stained Rain is the boutique for fun, functional, affordable, and classic rain wear. Inspired by my own and friend’s experiences in retail stores and how they cater to the idea of a two gender shopping experience. this boutique features a unisex stye store and design. Inspired by the Bauhaus school of design, this boutique takes the values, functions, and aesthetics into consideration. Form follows function, true materials, minimalism, simplicity and effectiveness, and smart use of resources. This boutique relies strongly on utilizing these principles to create an atmosphere that is inviting, comfortable, and steong for its visitors, shoppers, and guests.

Goals

• Create a space that refers to and is inspired by the Bauhaus principles

• Create a space that utilizes the terms “masculine” and “feminine” replacing “men’s” and “women’s”

• The renovation and/or building of the boutique will implement green/eco-friendly materials
