Background
For this project, I wanted to focus on creating a boutique that gives the sense of being in the Bauhaus era. The Bauhaus style and movement are something that has always interested myself and I felt that it would be an interesting take on what a boutique is. The definition of a boutique according to Merriam-Webster is “a small company that offers highly specialized services or products.” Specifically, for this boutique, I wanted to create a colorful and fun experience for those who visit. The items that are offered are those of higher quality, without entirely breaking the bank. Think IKEA. The design of the store itself will be one that is inviting, intriguing, and focused through design that draws the viewer in through color, design, and shape.
For data collection in this project, I wanted to do it in a way that would focus on the people the boutique is specifically meant for. To collect data for this boutique, I focused on research about what type of questions I should be asking and who to ask as well. For this, I created a small survey for people to take that reffered to my design and the values that I would like my boutuque to possess. The following questions are what I asked.
