Mobile App Guide



Synergy 2012

Conference & Expo

We are excited to present the “Synergy Mobile App” for your use during Synergy 2012. The app is designed to simulate a retail shopping experience and give you instant access to Synergy 2012 program information, plus much more: • Browse through breakout sessions to read descriptions, and learn more about speakers, times and locations • Add items to your “shopping cart” for must-see events and sessions • Get directions to your next session with the Event Map • Find a sponsor location with the Exhibition Hall Map • “Check-in” at vendor booths and sessions to earn loyalty points • Update your Facebook and Twitter feeds within the app • Connect with speakers and Retalix executives through LinkedIn By using the mobile app throughout the conference you can accumulate loyalty points. Earning loyalty points makes you eligible for prize giveaways such as a Hawaiian vacation for two, plus other great prizes.


Synergy 2012 Loyalty Program Each of the following activities earn points towards loyalty club status (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum). • Registering the app – 10 points • Attending and checking into a session – 5 points • Attending and checking into a booth – 5 points • Providing a rating for a session – 10 points • Posting to Facebook or Twitter within the App – 15 points

Loyalty Club Levels • 0 - 99 points – Bronze member • 100 - 199 points – Silver member • 200 - 299 points – Gold member • 300 points and above – Platinum member Benefits of achieving “Platinum Club” status: • All “Platinum Club” members will be entered into a drawing for the following: 1. A 7 night Hawaiian vacation for two, includes air and hotel accommodations (restrictions and blackout dates apply) 2. 60 inch HD, LED television 3. Apple Update: A new iPhone 5 and iPad mini • Prizes will be announced at the Final General Session on Tuesday



Using the Synergy Mobile App How do I download the app? There are two ways to download the app: 1. Go to the Apple or Google Play stores and search for “Synergy Mobile App” or “Retalix.” Click to download the app. Or 2. Type the following URL into your smartphone browser and follow the directions to download: http://www.retalix.com/mobileapp

How do I register myself in the loyalty program? Once you have downloaded the app, and registered at Synergy starting Sunday October 21st, click on the “Loyalty Club” tab. You will not be able to login to the app until you have registered at Synergy. You will then be prompted to register in one of two ways: 1. Scan the QR code given to you at registration using the colored box on the screen. Keep the entire QR code inside the colored lines of the box. Once you have the QR code inside the box the system will recognize your code and you will be registered. 2. You may also register by clicking “I do NOT have my Loyalty Card.” Enter the registration number printed on your QR code badge into the box and then click “Log In.”

What are all these buttons? People Icon Post your thoughts and photos from Synergy to Facebook and Twitter by clicking the People icon and choosing Facebook or Twitter. First time users will need to authenticate their accounts via each social network.


Check-in Icon Press this button to “Check-in� to each session 15 minutes before the start time, and up to 15 minutes after.

Scan Barcode Icon Push this to scan a session barcode from the list at the end of this handout. Hover over the barcode you wish to scan, and when the green box appears tap the screen to accept ; or push this when you are on the sponsor tab to check-in to their booth. Shopping Cart Icon Add the session to your Shopping List by clicking on this logo. Once added you will see the thumbs up icon.

Arrow and Maps Icon Push this to see the location of that session or booth on the exhibition hall map.


App at a glance: Agenda: View the high-level Synergy Agenda.

Breakout Sessions: See a complete list of all breakout sessions.

Breakout Tracks: View all of the sessions within each track.

Speakers: See all of the Synergy session speakers listed, or search for a specific speaker you want to hear.

Sponsors: View Synergy sponsors, connect with their social media, and find their booth location.


Scan Barcode: Scan the barcode or QR code you wish to use for registration/ check-in at a session or booth. Hover over the barcode you wish to scan, and when the green box appears tap the screen to accept.

My Basket: See what activities have earned you loyalty points for session and booth check-in’s, registration, and social updates.

Shopping List: Create a personalized Synergy agenda with only the sessions you want to attend. Find the name, time, and location of your next session.

Event Map: Map of the Synergy hotel and room space; pinch to zoom and click on rooms to see sessions and other events.

Loyalty Club: See how many loyalty points you have earned and where you rank among other Synergy loyalty program users.

Exhibition Hall: See the Exhibit Hall Booth Map; pinch to zoom and click a booth for sponsor details.
