OUR MISSION
The Coalition of Domestic Violence Support Centers is dedicated to promoting systemic changes to prevent domestic violence, protect victims, and empower women all across Armenia.
The Coalition's member organizations are partially subsidized by the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
2022 ANNUAL REPORT
OUR APPROACH
The Coalition works in three strategic directions:
1) To advocate for institutional level reform to prevent and combat domestic violence.
2) To carry out public awareness campaigns to improve knowledge and change attitudes around violence against women and women's role in society.
3) To build the capacity of the Coalition and its members to support and protect women and children across Armenia who have been subjected to domestic violence.
INSTITUTIONAL REFORM
The Coalition of Domestic Violence Support Centers takes a unified approach to strengthening the domestic violence response at an institutional level.
Throughout 2022, we consulted with key stakeholders to streamline processes and advocate for amendments to the domestic violence law and criminal code.
Our member organizations also collectively published 8 guidelines and research studies to support institutional strengthening
PREVENTION
In 2022, the Coalition's 10 founding member organizations:
trained 1,234 service providers and first responders, including police, social workers, and school teachers, as well as representatives of various municipalities, guardianship and trusteeship bodies, and the Compulsory Enforcement Service; led workshops on gender-based violence and related topics with 3,102 community members; offered 1,549 women with additional educational and life-enhancing opportunities; published 14 videos and podcasts aimed at raising public awareness about domestic violence and

In 2022, the Coalition’s 10 founding member organizations: Since 2020, the Coalition members have also collectively served 7,165 families displaced by the Artsakh War.
provided 3,092 women and children in every region of Armenia with rehabilitative services, counseling, legal aid, and shelter; supported 428 women to gain employment, receive vocational training, and obtain tools to jumpstart their careers; answered 5,001 hotline calls to support women requesting domestic violence services and information.
