KLJUČI SRCA Največji zakladi in skrivnosti in lepote sveta so zaklenjene v skrinje z zapletenimi mehanizmi zapiranja in te skrinje so skrite v najbolj temačnih kleteh in votlinah. A kljub temu obstaja način s katerim pridemo do človeškega srca. Milan Pirker

KEYS TO THE HEART The greatest treasures, mysteries and beauties of the world rest hidden away in chests with elaborate locks, and these chests lie in the darkest cellars and caverns. And these cellars and caverns are only to be found in the most inaccessible corners of the world. In gorges and canyons, and in abandoned houses standing in secluded and long forgotten places. But there is a way to find these places, these gorges and these cellars. There are maps, and there are methods and keys to open the elaborate locks of these treasure chests. However, there is one place which is hardest to reach. That is human heart. No “open sesame”, no winch and no elaborate burglar’s tools, nor threats and requests will help. People usually do not open their hearts to anyone. Particularly not in these complicated and, I am reluctant to say it and write it down, difficult times. There is no bribe, no kind word that finds a kind place and no instrument of torture that could force the owner of the heart to do so. But still, there is a way to reach into human heart. There are keys to the heart. There are a number of them and all need to be used at the same time. First, we need the masters who have the keys that unlock the door of music. Then we need people that recognise these masters and invite them, using their keys to open the door to the brightly lit halls. Then we need those of good will who pay contributions so that these masters and organisers can ensure bright and warm halls. And last but not least, there must be you coming to fill up these halls and bring the keys of affection and attention. Together, all these keys are called “love”. Without them, we would live in dusk and darkness and the chests would stay hidden at the bottom of caverns and abysses. Only love is the way, the key, the plan and the solution. For this love I thank you. Milan Pirker

Cilji so isti, le nekoliko bolj zahtevni.

The programme, known today as Seviqc Bre탑ice, is one of the most recognizable European early music festivals. It began in 1982 with the goal of developing an early music scene, insignificant at the time in Slovenia. Since then it has left an indelible mark in the Slovenian and European cultures. It has been an incredible journey. Our vision has not changed over the past thirty years; the goals are the same, if only more ambitious. We collaborate with the most distinguished international artists and young talents, have a fast-growing number This year marks the 31st consecutive season. It has been my honour and joy to expand the competition programme, together with the Chopin Golden Ring Foundation, and to add to it a third category for the historical piano. With this we have managed to join together an internationally recognisable competition, the Ptuj instrument collection with an original piano from the time of Chopin, and the current happenings in the early music field. of home artists, successfully completed projects and others in full swing. The early music scene is a field where Slovenia can achieve international recognisability, investing in it represents a way of asserting our national identity and pride in a world that is getting smaller by the minute. Crises come and go, but our will, pride and successfulness grow stronger in our love of everything beautiful.

Omenimo nekaj nastopov, ki so za umetnika posebej pomembni – izvedba Modre rapsodije G. Poleg evropske klasike zajema njegov obsežni repertoar klavirske literature tudi redkeje izvajana dela, kot so npr. dela Szymanowskega, Prokofieva, Skrjabina, Bartoka ali Gershwina. 39

Glasba Frédérica Chopina je najbolj priljubljena literatura vsakega pianista. Redno je del programa učencev in dijakov glasbenih šol in akademij za glasbo. Pomeni vstop mladega umetnika v sfero glasbe romantičnega obdobja in hkrati soočanje z zahtevnimi tehničnimi in muzikalnimi prvinami klavirske igre.

CHOPIN GOLDEN RING 2013 Castle of Ptuj, Festival Hall October 30th 2013 CATEGORY FOR HISTORICAL PIANO in coproduction with Seviqc Brežice early music festival, www.seviqc-brezice.si The Chopin Golden Ring International Competition For Young Pianists was founded in 2008 on the initiative of musicians, teachers and amateurs of Chopin’s music, with the encouragement of music friends from Poland. Frédéric Chopin’s compositions are on the list of favourite music pieces of every pianist. They are a compulsory part of the study programme at music schools and academies of music. With Chopin’s works, the young musician enters the sphere of Romantic music, and is thus confronted with the demanding technical and musical elements of piano playing. The complete works of Frédéric Chopin – including his miniature scores – require not only technical skills, virtuoso playing and crystal clear articulation but also a distinct sense of musicality and an ability to detect the most subtle dynamic nuances, combined with a highly cultured tone with which the artist interprets the music of the piano poet Chopin, and thus adds his or her own artistic touch to Chopin’s composition.
