VLTAVSKA DOWNTOWN BASIC FACTS
The ambition of this project is to create a new downtown in the city of Prague, a new and independent urban structure that is contemporary and adjustable to the needs of both the present and the future. This structure doesn‘t need to be preserved because it can change in order to accommodate the settings and it is designed to do that very easily. The basic idea behind this project is that there are three layers to this part of the city, the gate to Prague: pattern downstairs, line upstairs and nods where the interchange of energy between these two takes place. The whole area is filled with a new pattern of urban streets that define the borders of the regulation envelopes. The base of the envelopes is filled with public functions and open parter. There is also an inner pedestrian street stretching accross the block. The second level reaches up to the level of the highway and it carries it on the roof. The third level, made of towers of smaller area goes up over the highway and as high as necessary. There are special envelopes - hybrids - with parking towers and highway connections.

DAIZENJI MONZEN MACHI
DAINZENJI MONZEN MACHI BASIC FACTS
Katsunuma is one of very few areas in Japan where vine is grown and wine produced. The cities have problems because people don‘t want to live there, they just come for work and not even that. There is a shortage of workers, tourists bringing money to the region and of interesting places to serve as attractors. Daizenji Monzen Machi goes into the past, when monzen machi (=gate city) were founded near the gates of the Shinto and Buddhist temples as descendants of the market street and the hotel street. This idea is used to help the situation nowadays by creating a denser, more concentrated and more apealing area across the street from the gate to the Daizenji temple. It creates a sort of city inside a city, whose centre is a working winery. It sits on the top of a little valey of vine planes and it concentrates the equipment, storage and production facilities for the winers living and working there. The idea is to create a secondary street to the very busy and fast track Edo-period road and fill the holes in the old buildings by new ones with different programs, such as winery, visitor centre or workers and visitor accommodation.

ARTEL HOTEL + ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE
ARTEL HOTEL + ARTISTS IN RESIDENCE BASIC FACTS
THE CITY AND THE RIVER - that is the theme the architects from Netherlands have chosen for their design studio. AMBITION - GOALS - INSTRUMENTS: My ambition was to create a unique space, where two very different typologies meet and intersect. Hotel and artists in residence together create a unique building that has a very particular atmosphere. The ambition of the project is to create a „Chelsea hotel“ in Prague, the goal is to create a buzzing world of its own by mixing and interlacing different volumes and spaces, instead of just juxtaposing them. Everything comes down to a cube. Cube of 3,5*3,5*3,5 metres, which is a basic volume unit in this building. Every room or void in the building is assemled from these basic units, it only depends on how much space a particular program needs (artist room, hotel room, workshop, gallery, etc.). Also, the space is very much influenced by the orientation of the building, light and view requirements and the relationship to the river Vltava floating just under it. It is one volume and everything happens inside. Inner world of creation.

EDUCATIONAL CENTRE ACADEMIA
„EDUCATION IS A KIND OF CONTINUING DIALOGUE.“ Academia is a place where people and ideas meet.
EDUCATIONAL CENTRE ACADEMIA BASIC FACTS
The story of the building begins with a single thought of an open space, of education, thoughts and following examples. The author is convinced that if a person wants to learn something, they must feel comfortable, untangled. Thus an idea of an open fluid space occured. Big scale, lucidity, simplicity and exacness. Another though put into the design of the educational centre Academia is that of openess and enclosure at the same time. The buiding doesn‘t want to prevent people from comming in, but at the same time, it is trying to tell the visitor, that if they want to come and see what is happening, they have to come inside and see on their own. Inside, the story continues. Everything that doesn‘t need any direct sunlight, is hidden inside big supporting collumns, such as staircases, elevators, toilets, etc. Consequently, all the remaining area is available for the educatinal centre.

7 CITADELS OF CUNI IN PRAGUE
7 CITADELS OF CUNI IN PRAGUE BASIC FACTS
What is the relationship between the most important Czech university and Prague, capital city of the Czech Republic? Should CUNI change its aproach towards aquiring new buildings or stay in their old tracks? * diffusion is not an obstruction, but the nominator * the university should be a solid part of the city * new, modern and suitable buildings should be erected * no regulation and displacement, but iniciation * the university should be open towards a dialogue with the general public New focus points have been found and they have been awaken to life by revitalisation of old or erection of new buildings. That‘s how the citadels are born. A citadel is a shining star, a beacon, a magnet, towards all other parts of CUNI will turn eventually, gradually. It houses all and any part of uni life. Each CUNI building is a little star on the map of Prague. Each shines with different intensity. New citadels are born in places of high concentration of old buildings, high potential and/or in a relationship with important buildings.
