PARTNERSHIPS AND TITLES WITH TEAMS FROM BRAZIL
T
he first partnership of the LA Sports was established in the basic categories of Paraná Club. Early in the project the “Paranista” team reached the semifinals of the São Paulo Juniors Cup of 2006 (the main competition based in Brazil) and revealed several players to the football such as the left-back Eltinho (Coritiba), striker Vandinho (Russia) and Everton (Botafogo). The success in the base categories made the LA also enter into a partnership with professional football of Paraná and new achievements have come. In 2006, Paraná Club was champion in Paraná and won in the second semester a place in the Libertadores da América Cup, unheard for the team before and relying on youth values, among them: Pierre, Gustavo Maicosuel,Thiago Neves and Borges. After a period of conquest in Paraná, the LA Sports descended into the territory the state of Santa Catarina in the second half of 2007, to help rebuild a power of football in that state. Avaí succeeded the following year of the
partnership the access to Series A, after 30 years seeking this goal. In addition, he won the Santa Catarina championship in 2009 and 2010 seasons, something that has not happened for six decades. The Lion of the Island still did his best campaign in 2010 in the Brazil Cup and reached the quarter-finals of the South American Cup. In the period when LA was in the forefront of Avaí football issues, the team gained national notoriety and negotiated several athletes with the top teams of the national soccer clubs in 2009, a year of great glory for the team and finishing sixth in the Brazilian Championship, the best placement of the history of a Santa Catarina club in Series A. Coritiba Club had also the support of LA Sports to return to Series A in 2010. Some quality players like Gago and striker Leonardo arrived to the “Coxa” intending to ascend with the team, and they reached their goal. Currently, LA remains an important aid to clubs like Coritiba and Avaí.
A YEAR OF GLORY FOR CORITIBA
I
