Thunder Bay Correctional Complex
The Thunder Bay Correctional Complex embodies a shift in Canadian corrections, focusing on care rather than control . The design promotes dignity and interaction, integrating nature and creating a community-like environment with housing neighbourhoods, a town centre, and park-like pathways . Toronto South Detention Centre
This maximum-security facility for 1,650 inmates is Ontario’s first LEED® Silver certified adult correctional facility, emphasizing rehabilitation over punishment . Featuring state-of-the-art security, natural light, and prefabricated construction, the design includes comprehensive health services and spaces for Indigenous community practices, reflecting a progressive approach to incarceration

A. Grenville & William Davis Court House
This complex addition amalgamates several regional courts and the Peel Law Association library for the Ontario Superior and Ontario Courts of Justice . With 34 courtrooms, eight motion rooms, and holding cells, three separate circulation systems are designed to provide high-security measures with separate entrances for the public, judges, and the accused .

Central Ontario North Correctional Facility
On a 36-hectare site, this 1,230-bed maximum security facility for male and female inmates is designed as six housing pods arranged in an octagonal configuration . A typical pod consists of maximum and medium security cells, day rooms, and an exterior recreation yard . A control room at the centre of each pod monitors the activities of all inmates and controls traffic flow .

Block 2 Parliamentary Precinct Redevelopment
Block 2, within Ottawa’s Parliamentary Precinct, embodies sustainability, heritage conservation, and Indigenous values, creating a cohesive, secure office environment for Canada’s parliamentarians . Our design maximizes heritage building reuse, integrates new low-carbon structures, and features public spaces fostering dialogue . Zeidler achieved Federal Level II Secret Clearances to enable our team to deliver this high-security project

Two newly established underground stations are dedicated to transitoriented living . The stations will foster dynamic mixed-use communities while honouring the heritage characteristics of each vibrant neighbourhood . Zeidler is the Architect of Record delivering the subway station designs .

UP Express Union Station Platform
Using regional materials expressed purely and elegantly, the design provides an airy and light-filled terminus for this rail link between downtown and Pearson International Airport . We reinterpret the spirit of the golden era of train travel using sculptural wood elements, creating an impactful and inspired sense of arrival to the city .

Union Station, a historic site and major Canadian transit hub, is undergoing a revitalization to improve services for its thousands of daily visitors . The addition of the glass atrium creates an iconic identity that celebrates the heritage structure and exemplifies contemporary design excellence for this high-profile, high-volume transit hub .

Equinox Bridge for the Keating Channel
Pedestrian Bridge
A new landmark bridge will connect the Toronto waterfront to Villiers Island and the expanded park along the new mouth of the Don River . The concept is rooted in Indigenous design perspectives, fostering a connection between people and the water . Its curved S-shape design aligns with the equinoxes and solstices and provides framed views of the city .
