Cordiality, accuracy, organizational talent and leadership skills are among his strengths and distinguish him. He is passionate about the tourism sector: after around 20 years as a director in Südtirol I Alto Adige tourism organizations, in 2020 he took the plunge into living hospitality: together with the host family Erika and Bruno Moser, he is building on the Weinegg‘s continued success and future. But his passionate heart also beats for medicine: as our „hotel doctor“, the volunteer paramedic is at the service of his neighbour for minor aches and pains as well as for major indispositions.

A green roof is not only beautiful to look at, it also contributes to a healthier climate and provides an undisturbed habitat for insects and bees. Technically, it fulfills the tasks of thermal insulation in winter or cooling in summer, achieving significant energy savings in heating or cooling. In addition, it reduces electrosmog and thus creates the best conditions for healthy sleep in our suites.

NO PLASTIC GLASS WATER BOTTLES It is a personal matter to us: PET bottles are taboo with us. For your journey home we fill our Weinegg drinking bottle with fresh spring water.

WE PRODUCE OUR VERY OWN GREEN ELECTRICITY The Weinegg Wellviva Resort produces green electricity with its own CHP heating plant for a total of 120,000 KW hours. This corresponds to the annual electricity requirements of around 40 four-person households.

backstage Alfons, Restaurant Manager As swift as his Vespa, Alfons flits from table to table with a watchful, ever-attentive eye. Through his many long years of experience in his profession, everything runs as smooth as clockwork. Always with a smile to share, he makes sure that no guest’s wish goes unfulfilled. Most people know Alfons as the manager of our restaurant L‘Arena. But he also has a hidden talent: he is a passionate artist. In his spare time, he likes to work in his workshop with wood from his home, the Villnöss Valley. With much love he makes cats, hedgehogs and rabbits in all sizes and variations. He works up to 4 hours on one wooden animal. The animals have nested everywhere in our hotel as decoration and good luck charms.

When you’re on holiday, sleeping in is a must! Our late-riser’s breakfast with zing-filled specialities is just what you need to put a spring in your step and a smile on your face. One such delectable treat is the bread basket, packed with all kinds of sweet-smelling breads made from all imaginable grains. Freshly-squeezed juices, homemade jams and vibrantly-coloured fruits and veggies sit in a row at the buffet table. And then comes our speciality from the breakfast show-kitchen: Organic egg dishes, made to order, exactly as you want them. And with the finest of Südtirol I Alto Adige cheese together with local ham, you think your mouth will never stop watering. Our Chef de Cuisine Moritz simply doesn‘t fit the cliché of a Chef at all: sporty, quiet, relaxed and preferably inconspicuous, he smiles his way through life. He doesn‘t really like to be the center of attention. He much prefers to tinker quietly and relaxedly with new flavor compositions and to create enjoyable South Tyrolean specialties and Alpine-Mediterranean dishes with passion and enthusiasm from fresh, regional ingredients. He is also happy to pass on his skills: calmly and devotedly, he trains the youngest members of his brigade. When he‘s not following his culinary mission, he gets on his racing bike or mountain bike in any weather and at almost any time of day or night. Just as in the kitchen, passion drives him: The superlative racing bike marathon with 5,500 meters of altitude, four Alpine passes and a distance of 238 km or the mountain bike marathon at Lake Garda, which is unique in its difficulty and leads over two mountain passes in a distance of 58 km, 2,300 meters of altitude and 63 hairpin bends? There is no challenge he shies away from. His favorite menu? Cinema for gourmets with a shot of adrenaline and sport.

OUR CRAFT BEER We have the pleasure to introduce you to our very own handcrafted beer. The „Mendelbier“, named after the Mendel mountain. Quality has been an important aspect from the very beginning, which is why our own beer is brewed at the Tenuta Moser in accordance with the rules of the art: by hand, without filtering or pasteurizing it. The Mendelbier, brewed with fresh water from the Mendel mountain, is served turbid and freshly tapped from the tank. In this way we maintain its unmistakable taste. A curiosity? Our Tenuta Moser is the only estate in all of Italy to house a winery and a brewery under one roof.

WEINGUT TENUTA MOSER For decades now the Moser Family has been working our farm at Monticolo Lake and in Caldaro sulla Strada del Vino with the greatest of love and passion. Our family began to grow and cultivate grapevines in the Oltradige area three generations ago; in days gone by, the family’s grapes were delivered to the surrounding wineries for pressing. In 2019, with the Tenuta Moser, our winery in Caldaro, a dream has come true: We opened our very own wine cellar with storage room and pressing room, where we can now vinify and bottle our own grapes.

Prices are in euro, quoted per person per day, based on two full-paying guests per room and include our ¾ pleasure board. A discount of 20.00 euro is applied for bed & breakfast only bookings. The local tax of 1.60 euro per day is charged separately for all guests aged 14 and over. The actual layout of rooms and suites may differ slightly from the images shown. The centrepiece of the Messner Mountain Museums, MMM Firmian at Sigmundskron Castle, illustrates the relationship between man and the mountains. These ancient walls at Sigmundskron Castle, complemented by a contemporary steel and glass structure, are the heart of the entire museum concept. The museum houses pictures, sculptures, symbolic artefacts and relics which convey the true meaning of the relationship between man and the mountains. MMM Firmian is a unique place with incredible views, both inside and out. The museum and castle grounds are open from the third Sunday in March through to the second Sunday in November. Closed on Thursdays.
