Real Halloween

“The Real Halloween focusses on what is enchanting about the season, not anything scary. Its so different to anything else that is on offer and is a great way for families to embrace the magic of nature in a beautiful and atmospheric setting” Holt Hall on Fri 30th and Sat 31st October organised by the Fairyland Trust. A new Witches Broomsticks workshop alongside favourite’s including Magic Wands, Witches Messengers, Witch Training and Wizard Training. Also NEW - Imp Tech, Plus Witches Kitchens, Fairy Banquets, Fairy Houses, Dens and more. Crab Apple Café; Veg-0-Lantern décor (competition open to public); Good Elf Pub; Autumn Photo Booth; Jam Jar lanterns; Face Painting; Pixie Post Office; with a range of craft, food and other traders. Entertainment will come from The Trolls; Fire Girls; Musical Toadstools; Games Arena with Conker Championship, apple bobbing races, sugar beet shot-put, parsnip skittles, Crown Green vegetaboules and others. Live Music from Pennyless, Storytelling, and The Real Halloween story in the woods.The day finishes with the lantern parade of animals at dusk. M.A.D. Art Exhibition

Maxey Art Group and Deepings Art Club are holding their 2nd joint exhibition of paintings from Fri 30th Oct 10am-8pm Sat 31st 10am - 5pm and Sun 1st Nov 10am- 2pm at Maxey Village Hall. High quality paintings to suit all tastes and cards by local artists for sale. Entry is free while homemade cakes and refreshments are available to purchase. Disabled parking, access and facilities. The Joyce Windsor Award and the ever popular Peoples Choice Award will be made.

Greenwood Choir at the Priory Church

‘Strings for the Bassoon!’ a Concert of Words and Music by The Greenwood Quire. Using voices and instruments and dressed in the costumes of the time, the Quire evokes the spirit of 19th century church musicians who often featured so colourfully in Thomas Hardy’s novels. 3pm, Priory Church, Deeping St James Sunday 18th October. Tickets £6, include tea and cakes from 01778 343860 or on the door. All profits to support the mission work of the Priory Church.
