Karen Sebley, Zee & Co’s Loughton Ladies and Junior Store Manager, reflects on 35 years for the business, the lure of Essex and big plans for the future Q Who started Zee & Co and what inspired its launch? A Zee & Co was started by two good friends back in 1985. Spending their time outside of work, travelling into London and shopping at some of the most iconic stores, they had a dream to one day own their own multi–brand fashion store. They saw a gap for a luxury designer fashion store within the East End of London, for fashion-conscious consumers, and pursued the vision of making designer labels more accessible within the locality. Due to the success of Zee & Co in their original stores, they decided to open in several other areas. Still to this day, Zee & Co is owned by one of the original owners, and the DNA of the company’s original launch is maintained within the business. Q Was Loughton your first store? Why do you love having a store there? A Loughton wasn’t our first store. However, it has been recognised as our flagship store for many years. Zee & Co’s first store
