We’ll start the night honoring Sorors who have excelled in their respective fields. We have Zeta’s succeeding in high places and on this night we’ll get to know their names and faces! Then, you’ll hear from an artist whose voice sounds so brilliant it almost makes you speechless. A major new talent, Soror Terisa Griffin will grace us with her phenomenal vocal talent. Those who have tried to describe her vocal style, have used words such as mesmeric, stunning and dynamic, and trust me; her vocals are all that and more!

Ms. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Pageant Back for the second time, this event was created to bring to light the talent within Zeta. A night where we pay tribute to the founding principle of scholarship, the Ms. Zeta Pageant will feature a talent contest, special guest appearances, and the finest demonstration of intellectual talent with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority! The evening will feature the sounds of the legendary DJ Kool! So be prepared to get your groove on throughout the evening!

Interfaith Breakfast A celebration for the whole family to enjoy, Sunday will begin our day of learning and spiritual rejuvenation! We will sing, pray and rejoice with one another in the cooperative spirit of the occasion. The perfect capstone for the Interfaith Breakfast will be a powerhouse performance from the first lady of gospel music Vickie Winans! In her 20 year career, this talented and gifted songstress has received many accolades including 6 Grammy Award nominations; 8 Stellar Awards, and an NAACP Image Award. In that same span of time, she’s released 9 projects, with 2003’s “BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER” debuting at #1 on Billboard’s Gospel Chart. This event is sure to jump start your day and put you on the right track to being Sisterly all the live long day!

A Word About Attire for Our Youth The National Grand Boulé is your opportunity to shine! As such, you will be expected to dress for the leader you will one day become. Leadership is about setting examples for others to follow and, it’s about having the courage to be who you are. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. encourages individuality while at the same, time respect for others. It is in this spirit that we emphasize the following policies concerning the dress code for youth. This list is not exhaustive and by no means represents every possible scenario. Parents, we solicit your active involvement in helping us to ensure that these standards are met. You can help by carefully reading the convention program to gain an understanding of what will occur and then, help pack the appropriate clothing items. • No halter tops, off the shoulder, low – cut or see through blouses will be allowed. • Pants that reveal belly buttons or ones that hang off of your hips and/or buttocks, or reveal undergarments will not be allowed. • Please be mindful of wearing clothing containing text messages. They can easily be mistaken. Certainly, avoid wearing anything with profanity – regardless of how harmful you think it is. • Remember at all times that Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, is an organization of professional, cultured women. As a member of our youth auxiliary, you represent everything that we stand for. When the world sees you, they see us.

Convention Etiquette

«

Convention Etiquette This information is being provided to heighten your awareness of the impact that your personal behavior has on Zeta’s national reputation and its dealings with business suppliers. Each of us has a responsibility to represent the Zeta brand in the best light possible wherever we go and in whatever we do. This also holds true regardless of whether or not we have our logo or letters emblazoned across our chest. What people think of us, they think about Zeta. Etiquette is the art of knowing and using the appropriate behavior and protocol for different types of human interactions. It means having good manners in our dealings with others in order to show respect, kindness and consideration for them. It is with this in mind that we are asking all conference attendees to please observe the following common courtesies and protocols while attending the conference: 1. Refrain from discussing Zeta business in public areas (lobbies, hallways, elevators, etc). You will be surprised what hotel personnel and others learn from our casual conversations when we are not paying attention. Please save your conversation for the privacy of your guest room. 2. Be courteous to everyone at all times. Even when faced with a problem, do your best to handle it with a smile on your face. You can get much further by using a smile coupled with diplomacy when tackling a problem. Plus, it takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown. 3. In the interest of ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable experience at the Boulé, safety concerns, and minimizing the Sorority’s exposure to risk, no one will be allowed to harass others, form protests, or pilfer meeting space. We must be able to disagree peacefully and respectfully. For the protection of all attendees, we will have Security present at all times to help maintain an orderly environment. 4. Remember to tip hotel personnel. Legend has it, the word “tip” itself came years ago from a pub owner who used the acronym on a box “To Insure Promptness.” In that spirit, tipping should be thought of first and foremost as a reward for prompt and attentive service. Don’t feel obligated to give a tip if the service given was sub-par. On the other hand, consider giving a larger tip for those who go out of their way to provide personalized or stand-out service. Although it is not required, tipping etiquette says that unless service was severely lacking in some way, do give a tip of some sort (or at least a smile and a thank you). 5. Above all else, act like a Finer Woman. When you do this, your behavior is above reproach.

Tipping Etiquette

«

Tipping Etiquette When it comes to travel, it’s the smallest detail, such as tipping etiquette that can become the most confusing. Whom should you tip? How much? Do you need to tip at all? Never fear! With this simple guide to tipping, we’ll take the guesswork out of tipping etiquette and help you focus on more important things – like enjoying your Boulé vacation.

Below are the types of personnel you should remember to tip: 1. Sky Cap (checks your bag at the airport) 2. Shuttle Driver (loads and unloads your luggage onto the shuttle) 3. Hotel Valet (removes your luggage from the car and hails the taxi for you) 4. Bell Captain (ensures luggage arrives in your room) 5. Valet Parking Attendant (brings and returns your car to the garage) 6. Housekeeping/Maid Service (cleans your room every day during your stay) 7. Mail Room/Business Center Attendant (delivers boxes or faxes to your room) 8. Tour Guide (provides narration on your tour) 9. Hotel Concierge (recommends and makes special arrangements for dining, shows, spas, etc.)
