This is the project for internship in Navone Associati, Milan, Intaly.
Concept, development and realization of display box for a botanical exhibition.
This work received high evaluation from Mr. Maurizio Navone.

Every garden is a private universe, whose story is influenced by the rites of its maintenace and renovation. So we should tell a story through this botanical exhibition, and it's a story told in first person, based on the memories of its caretaker. In this case we got the first keyword - memory. Each plant is a different point of view, uncovering the satisfactions, surprises, attentions given to them. So finally I used meticulous painting which was a kind of memory sketch to show all the ten plants, as from drawing, people could learn every detail of a plant, such as leaf vein. Plants are collected and stored in memory boxes made of light wood, inside is the LED light, the box cover is made of cardboard with sketch printing on it. Each box is witness of an intimate dimension, where a person can indulge the pleasure of taking care of his own living space (and of himself).

People meet friends, watch TV or just have a rest in their living room. So living room always provides people a leisure space. In this case, one thing we think about is the atmosphere in this space. Sometimes, psychologically people just need nice atmosphere, such as beautiful light, so we combine atmosphere light with the radiator.

Actually people need to hang something like clothes, towel in bathroom especially when they take a shower. Here is the radiator for bathtoom, there are no hooks but you can also hang what you want, as from the subconscious perspective, users immediately know it is used for hanging as soon as they see the circle with a gap.

Bedroom is another important function area - sleeping. During sleep, time is still very necessary. Sometimes people may also open their eyes to see the time which even is just a subconscious behavior. If there is a clock on the wall, and can be seen the time clearly even in the dark that will be really convenient. We use the hole to make the clock, and use LED lamp beads to show the time.

We believe that every product exist with its own manifest, strong or not, always there is some words lying behind each designed object. By inspiring this fact, we want to design a product not only introducing a new way of usage but also telling a story behind it in a more provocative even kind of punk way. To have this effect, we use stencils, explaining different kind of human reactions mostly against politics, system, or life itself. At this moment we are also inspired from the language of street art and the street movements that nowadays arising all over the world against governments.

Food Filter is a flexible straining implement that brings ease and convenience to the separation of solid and liquid foods.

In the kitchen, there often arises the need to separate solid food from liquid. This task usually requires two implements and two hands - one to hold the container being poured from and one to hold a strainer. The typical strainer easily catches solid food with its mesh while liquid is poured away. However, extracting the liquid from a hot saucepan, for example, can easily lead to spills and splashes of hot liquid on one’s hands.

Food Filter is a convenient straining tool made with silica gel. This flexible implement can be firmly fitted to the edge of a container of any shape. It allows liquid to pass through while solids are retained in the container.

Sometimes it takes us great effort to screw and even without effect by a common wrench. But can we lengthen its arm of force? So we did. Now it becomes a retractable and adjustable wrench. It allows us a longer lever to move the stubborn nuts, and also lengthens our "arms" to move nuts placed high or in narrow gaps.

This is the work for 2013 Lissone Design Award.
My work parts: 3D Model, photoshop Inspiration comes from the fine art of mixing drinks, try a new design for ritual of food.
This design is a very interesting process, just like the title “An Italian Ritual Upside Down”.

Upside Down is a convenient appliance for cocktail and solid food, the shape just likes Old Fashioned glass which is short and round with straight sides, perfect for drinks served on the rocks. Our glass is totally 124 mm high with upper and lower parts, like Old Fashioned glass, the drinking part has 350 ml capacity, and the other part is for solid food, such as nuts, chips, pretzels, olives etc. Upside Down can be used in both public and private home. When in public, like a bar, the glass just be used in normal way, the upper part can serve different cocktails while the lower half can be used to serve solid foods.

When in private home, by using Upside Down people can also make cocktail by themselves even without professional appliances. Depending on the ratio of different cocktails, we designed several cylinder molds for that. Put one mold into the glass, then pour different drinks into corresponding partition, finally just remove the mold, a glass of nice cocktail is done, and the same time people do a ritual of food.

As one part of China, Inner Mongolia has its own unique culture. After a fantastic journey there I knew a lot about Mongolian nomadic life, like Mongolian yurts, totems, traditional costumes etc. Especially I found that Mongols could not live without liquor, because of their habit and character. So drinking set has become their important appliance, for example there are lots of nice traditional liquor pots.

Inspiration came from ox horn. The unique shape may remind people of Inner Mongolian culture during drinking liquor. All the products are made of ceramic - white and clean that can bring us fresh and natural feeling. As Mongols prefer one shot of liquor, particularly with my small cup you have to do the same thing just like Mongols, because these cups can not stand firmly.

I put typical elements of blue and white porcelain into a radio design, and endowed radio with new product semantic - traditional culture. Use ceramic this kind of material, with blue and white patterns, radio - a general product becomes much more elegant. On the top of the radio, is the operator panel and trumpet. Especially the panel is made of acrylic, just like water waves.

Inspiration came from the nice antlers of reindeer, then came out this kind of shape for the chair. It is made of white oak, and particularly there is the shelf under the sitting part used for placing newspapers and magazines, and just pull it out when you need to use.

With the development of society and growing urban population, urban geographic patterns change constantly. Especially into the automotive society, people's demand for car increases a lot, and in the near future, just like mobile phone, each person has a car. However it has caused serious problems, like urban traffic congestion, environmental pollution etc. According to the survey, the average passenger capacity of family car is only 1.7 people, which is a serious waste of space. In order to solve the urban commute problems, we need to rethink the relationship among man, car and city, and design practical future personal transportation.

Our final target positioning - thirty to forty-year-old people who already have 1-2 cars and have strong purchasing power, and also advanced idea. CitroĂŤn Avenir - electric vechicle, is coexistence of elegance and vitality, giving a kind of amiable feeling, as it is lightweight design with good quality and fashion sense. It can carry 2 people, and like a family car, it has all the basic configuration and practical functions. From the front face, smooth connecting with logo, chrome accessories, LED headlights etc, the pattern shows a sense of science and technology.

Exposed institution is easy to be repaired and maintained. The form of open wheel is different from the ordinary ones, making the overall vehicle more lightweight. CitroĂŤn Avenir uses double sliding doors design, and the double-layer twist wheels enhance the visual impact, while the pattern on the vehicle roof improve the amiable sense.

Science and technology is the principle of interior design. CitroĂŤn Avenir changes light into art, blue LED lighting combination creates charming atmosphere, precise and tough mechanical design is embedded in the overall elegant environment. Interior planning, good utilization of space is the essence of CitroĂŤn Avenir. The layout uses dislocation of double seats design, and the chair can be folded when storing items.

Up Spring is a dog chain with mechanical spring power generation system inside. Due to dog pulling it can transform the mechanical energy into electronic energy which ca n be s a v e d w h i l e w a l k i n g d o g . When walking dog, the dog always runs around and pulls the dog chain.
The mechanical spring repeats contraction and elongation, the same time it transforms the mechanical energy into electrical energy which can be stored.
When at night or in the dark, just press the switch and turn on the LED light.
Then you will get brighter and more confortable environment and enjoy a new experience while walking dog.

As dog pulls the dog chain, the mechanical spring inside will repeat contraction and elongation. In this case, the electromagnetic coil does the movement of magnetic induction lines cutting, then it can generate the electrical energy which is stored in the capacitor and be used for LED light.

We designed a electromagnetic cooker which is more low-carbon and environmental. It is a kind of inner concave and spherical electromagnetic cooker, and the heating part can be all around the container which is more efficient when cooking. Of course we keep the traditional heating mode, so it is divided into two parts, with sliding design.
