EDUCATION

Identity, function, and geometric designs can participate to achieve an ideal image of a nation that has deep roots in history. Saudi Arabian architecture has not integrated its identity fully in its buildings, rather it had followed the international language of architecture. Bear in mind that the designs and methods used to implement such style were not achieved correctly. However, to create an abstract form of identity for the Saudi culture under the vision 2030 we should combine in a high order the function and geometric designs to permits its international image to flourish. Creating an identity with kind correspond to the contemporary architectural atmosphere of the country with the traditional values of the Saudis to meet these standards is not an easy task to accomplish, and yet it can be accomplished successfully according to the international language followed before.

King Fahd University KSA 2016 - 2019

It is an essential Mission to start the arts and crafts movement once again in a completely different region then it once was. The assault that happened to the Saudi cultural architecture must be put to an end. RATIONALISM, MINIMALISM, AND FUNCTIONALISM are the right way to express the coming vision. The right way to express the new horizon of this culture lies under the full understanding of its past And the Sharp visualization of its future. We want to pave the ground of the rising kingdom and construct a keystone of its foundation. Where the practical is needed and the artistic is wanted the pure forms are the way to guide this nation to the head of this architectural race and this international competition

CASCADE This project is a result of the cooperation of EnerG group, 3 students of KFUPM to intraduce the most sustainable future-like project. This project lasted 4 months and was created during the COVID-19 Pendemic. The students cooperated in this project are (Ziyad Alroqi, Turki Abdullah, Elyas Almadani).

PROBLEM STATEMENT The size of the project is craving for social hierarchy and needs to be treated in a connected manner. The project functions are vastly separated in regard to social behavior and needs to be logically merged or integrated. The Saudi culture is an important feature to be demonstrated in the project, so it is important to consider cultural references. Affordability is an important issue to take in mined for nowadays designs, because the Saudi community is becoming more independent in early ages, so it is essential to create that social hub for them to live in with affordable living expenses.

PROJECT STATEMENT This project will create affordable units that are laid out in a central approach from all functions to allow equal transition for all community members. This connection will increase social encounter that will develop relationships between residents and visitors. However, sustainability will play an important role in such community for it to operate properly. The hierarchal system followed will be engaging and private in some respects if the need required.

CONCEPT Cascade: An overlapping plates that create the complex connection “to be a mini city. To provide energy saving methods and to create a social connection between the people of the complex

ORIGINAL APPROACH

FINAL APPROACH

Starting the project from the plate system which created a non realistic sculpture and a hard to build structure. Using the plates ďŹ rst as the main system and niglecting the functions hels in the buildings

Starting with the Buildings and creating the functions as the main activity. This approach has allowed many systems to be integerated within the project in a rational mannar.

STRUCTURE Cascade holds many systems due to the fact of the detailed integeration of varius systems throughout the semester by the 3 individuals and the detailed calculations that have insured the stability of the project structurally

7

FACADE The facade treatment is solar responsive and will be orienter to the sun direction to allow maximum coverage from the solar exposure. additionally the facade treatment element of shading has created a oattern on most of the buildings that inhanced the social life and human behaviour.

MATERIAL Stainless steel is playing an important role in sustainable design and alternative energy evolution. Ultimately, the most environmentally friendly materials are corrosion resistant and durable, have high-recycled content and recapture rates, provide long service life and reduce resource use

PROJECT BRIEF PART 1: This project is about the geometrical investigation at the digital comunication course ARC 214. The ďŹ rst part is individual work, where the student investigates the projection of light on a set of kitchen equipments, so eventually a pattern would rise from the original projection.

PART 2:

IMAGE 3

The second part is a group work, where one pattern was selected to proceed with. This pattern (image1) was then translated in Rhino program to be eventually colored in illustrator (image2). shapes were selected and extruded to form the Tower(image3) in which the pattern would be placed on(image4).

ANGELS & DEMONS

Throughout the history of religions, varying kinds and degrees of beliefs have existed in various spiritual beings, powers, and principles that mediate between the realm of the sacred or holy. the transcendent realm, and the profane realm of time, space, and cause and effect. Such spiritual beings, when regarded as benevolent, are usually called angels in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and those viewed as malevolent are termed demons. In other traditions, such intermediate beings are less categorical, for they may be benevolent in some circumstances and malevolent in others.
