Lofting A combined chair and table
In Week 1, we are introduced to lofting and some basic algorithms. I started with three curves and lofting them to create a smooth surface. It was offseted to create a level of thickness.
The final product is a table which connected to two curvy benches, which allow people to sit and lie on. The base of the table and benches was generated by octree scripting. It creates a contrast of rigid form and smooth lines.

Exploring & cosidering walking pattern
The wooden sculpture may be placed on the pathway to obstruct pedestrains’ rountine. It forces people to take an alternative pathway (to walk around it), and have a chance to explore the environment of the site.
The divide curve command generates points on the arcs which creates interesting patterns. The points represent people comes from a broad environmental context. Few exercising people and cyclists visits the site, Merri Creek in the morning, and increasing amount of visitors arrive the site later.

Creating overlapping curved pipes to form a grid shell. The shift list allows the arcs to overlap with each other in order to create a form similar to a nest.

Mesh reunion produces a pattern which can be extruded to create a maze. This object is also applicable to the topic from last week. It can be located on the site with a massive scale which will change people’s walking pattern.

I have alternated the script to create 3D version of the previous design. This irregular form may be interesting for people to interact with and investigate.
Instead of creating patterns and then exploring with form, in this design, I have created a smooth mesh and then create pattern on it. It may create interesting shading as a lampshade.
