”ZOEY chrysanthemum” is a simple interpretation of the ZOEY logo and the seasonal flower print
It has always fascinated me to be able to take shape in something flat, such as fabric, leather or, as of now, paper. There is something beautiful about creating organic forms in nature’s own materials and thus completing the circle back to the origin of the materials. It is, in a way, paradoxical to transform nature’s materials into paper, and then use the paper again to imitate nature’s own beautiful flora. Unlike natural flowers, however, paper flowers have the advantage that they last longer.
In my family it has become a tradition that we take a creative project with us on holiday. This is also where the adventure with the crepe paper flowers started. In a cottage on a dark February day a few years ago, when it was snowing wildly outside, I made my first paper flower. I love being able to share and meet around a creative process, and here the whole family could be involved. It is both my opinion and the statements of my course participants that the work creates a meditative calm. It is pleasant to gather around, and there is often a lot of good talk around a table.

A few years ago, I started ”Made In Denmark Workshops”, as I missed meeting with others about something creative. When I couldn’t find the offer I wanted to go to myself, it had to be created and therefore ”Made In Denmark Workshops” came into existence. My small business offers various courses in the materials and DIY trends that are happening, as well as where my own interest is moving. Here you can book a place or have a tailor-made workshop for e.g. a company event, bachelor party, friend’s party, etc.
Inspired for more? The next step in this world was to communicate in several ways and from this the books were born. ”Papirblomster - Foldet Flora” is the latest addition to the line where you can learn to make crepe paper paper flowers.
Create your own
BOUQUET You will need this: Pointed scissors • Bone folder or similar • Elephant wire • Crepe paper 180g. quality • Floral tape • Decoupage glue
Beautiful colors and structure for a nice spring bouquet.
Cut 3 pieces of paper: 7x15 cm, 8x15 cm, 9x15 cm. Stretch out the paper. Fold the paper on the long side in the number of layers you can cut through.
Cut strips as thin as you can 2/3 down the paper. Repeat this on all 3 strips of paper.
Roll the strips lightly with slightly damp fingers, to make them more natural. With a bone folder or similar, the strips are curled in the same direction.
On the smallest strip, put a stripe of glue on the side the strips curl towards.
The strip is glued to one end of the elephant wire. Keep the same circumference so that the flower doesn’t drip. Repeat with the 2 other strips.
The stem is then wrapped with the floral tape. Glue the tape to the top and bottom.
Feel free to give the stem a few light bends so that it has a natural expression and the flower is now complete. 37

RHUBARB CAKE
with meringue
Dough • 200 g. soft butter • 1 tsp. vanilla sugar • 175 g. sugar • 4 eggs • 100 g. almonds with skin • 175 g. white flour • 2 tsp baking soda • 1 dl. whole milk Topping • 400-500 g. fresh or frozen, thawed rhubarb, cut into 1 cm pieces • 4 egg whites • 200 g. sugar

Preheat the oven to 180°C hot air. Line a baking tin, 35 x 25 cm, with baking paper. Whip the butter, vanilla sugar and sugar with an electric mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time - whip after each time. Chop the almonds with skin in a food processor until they have a fine structure. Mix with flour and baking soda. Mix it all together with the butter mixture alternately with the milk. Pour the batter into the baking dish and spread the rhubarb on top. Whip the egg whites until they are so stiff, that you can turn the bowl upside down without them falling out. Add the sugar little by little while whipping. Then spread the egg whites over the rhubarb. Bake the cake for approx. 20 minutes, then cover with tin foil so that the meringue does not become too dark. Bake for another 30-35 minutes. Let the cake cool in the form on a baking rack. serve the cake warm or cold. Enjoy!
Rhubarb is just the epitome of spring. It’s such a fresh and tangy vegetable that is harvested in the spring. Rhubarb can be used for juice, jam, baked goods and desserts. What a joy to collect them yourself in your own garden.
