Use Request link – at top of the page or at the right of the title. Choose a pick-up location. Place up to 15 items on request. Be notified by email or phone when your item is ready for pick-up.

Search by Keyword

Title, Author, Subject, etc. Keyword search is the default setting.

Limit Results

Limit to one library system, specific format, or age group using the right-hand drop-down menu. Unless you choose a limit, the system searches the entire collection.

Sort Results for Easy Browsing

On the results page, use drop-down menus and “Sorted by” links to organize results.

Item Information

Check titles for availability, summaries and book reviews. Click subject headings or tags to find more on the same topic or author. Check out the “You Might Also Like” section on the right for similar reads.

Know Mobile

Renew a book, place a hold, find the nearest library, down load eBooks all from your phone/device with the Library’s mobile app.

Access your library account using the “My Account” link at the top of the catalog page. Enter your 14 digit library card number (without the spaces) and PIN (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number).

My Account features:

View checked out items and return dates. Easily renew items by clicking on Renew All or select items individually. Renew items up to 4 times if no one else has them on request. View requested items and your position on the wait list. Review and update your email address under “Modify My Info.” Keep track of what you’ve read by opting in to “My Reading History.” Create new book alerts for favorite authors using “Preferred Searches.”

Get a library card... it’s easy! Just show two things to get a library card: 1) Valid photo identification 2) Proof of current address in Deschutes County An Oregon Driver’s license or Identification card with a current address is the best document to use. If the address is not current, the license or ID card can be used for photo identification in conjunction with a document listed under Options for proof of residency.

Options for photo identification:

Driver’s license or ID card issued from outside of Deschutes County, Passport, Military ID, Costco Card, or credit card with photo.

Options for proof of residency:

Current utility bill, fishing /hunting license, lease/rental agreement, deed to real property, property tax statement, motor vehicle registration, or personal mail postmarked within the last 30 days.

Library cards for youth: A parent or legal guardian’s signature is required on the library card application for youth who are 16 years and younger. The parent and/or guardian must provide proof of identity and residency in Deschutes County. Library cards are free for residents of Deschutes County. For those customers who do not reside in Deschutes County, there are a variety of options. Please call (541) 617-7050 or visit the library closest to you to discuss what is available.

Un niño que entra al kínder con un vocabulario fuerte y amor por los libros, y que está acostumbrado a jugar con palabras, tiene una ventaja. Los expertos coinciden en que al hablar, leer, escribir, jugar, rimar y cantar con un niño pequeño, usted puede ayudar a enseñarle a las seis habilidades que se necesitan para tener éxito en la lectura.

HABLAR = Vocabulario. Su hijo sabe los nombres específicos de las cosas. LEER = Motivación por Materiales

Impresos. Su hijo sabe que los libros son divertidos e interesantes.

ESCRIBIR = Conocimiento de las Letras. Su hijo identifica las letras y sus sonidos. LEER, JUGAR, EXCRIBIR =

Interés por Materiales Impresos. Su hijo explora los materiales impresos y su significado en todas partes.

JUGAR = Habilidades Narrativas. Su hijo recuerda e inventa historias, y juega con su imaginación. RIMAR y CANTAR = Conciencia Fonológica. Su hijo juega con sonidos y crea palabras nuevas.
