Taken directly from your RFP, we acknowledge that Lurie Children’s Center for Childhood Resilience (CCR) develops, evaluates, and disseminates mental health best practices to promote systems change, increase access, and reduce mental health disparities where kids live, learn and play. CCR partners with schools and youth-serving organizations to deliver innovative, sustainable, and evidencebased strategies, promote mental health and wellness, and foster resilience in the face of adversity to nurture children’s socio-emotional well-being. We work statewide with a focus on communities with racial disparities, high child-poverty index, and disconnection from infrastructure. We focus on elevating youth voice and incorporating the educator experience to ensure solutions are appropriate and sustainable. CCR has a 17-year history of leadership in building awareness of the impact of exposure to trauma and violence in Illinois and partnering to implement sustainable solutions for healing our communities. CCR has extensive partnerships with Chicago Public Schools and over 30 other districts across the state of Illinois. Annually, CCR trains and provides consultation to over 1,500 schooland community-based clinicians, educators, and youth development staff to build capacity and improve their systems, strategies, and interventions to support youth mental health and resilience. CCR staff are certified trainers in nationally recognized, evidence-based school interventions for students exposed to trauma, including Bounce Back, Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools, and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress.

As a full service agency, zö agency fulfills any needs any organization may have, as if the marketing department existed in house. This begins with strategy. zö agency either develops or works with existing brand guides to deepen the experience of the business’s potential clients as they interact with the business. zö agency works with all sizes of clients and their budgets. Armed with a brand guide, vision, mission and strategy, zö agency is able to bring measurable ROI to its partners, year over year. While we gladly work project by project, zö agency is best utilized as a complete partner in strategy, such that we are the guiding force behind the efforts made to attain agreed upon goals and objectives. The following 2022-23 proposal plan and strategy was developed for CCR by the zö agency team. In the following pages we outline the best practices for identifying your clients, where they are in their buying cycle, the types of advertising that will engage them in their journey and the implementation outline for these. We take into consideration the main stakeholders CCR serves. We will advise on the communications plan, stakeholder positioning, types of mediums and marketing for each audience and develop materials for these for CCR, for your 2022-23 campaign. We’re called ‘tribe’ for a reason. We’re on your side of the table. We’re wearing your shoes, toasting with your wine, dancing at your events and up before dawn planning the next hoorah while you rest easy. We know you inside and out (soon enough!) and we speak your language. About

Every campaign works to capture the right audience through precisely the right mediums, with the best ROI, for the greatest and highest good, impacting just the people we aim to affect. Our strategists build your campaigns on solid foundations so that our media buyers can effect the greatest outcomes using every and any medium in the vast media toolkit. Process

Before we build your campaign, we become intimately familiar with your audiences and what they are looking for in your offerings. Every excellent communications plan begins with a commitment to understanding; a thirst for unpacking blind spots just as much as harnessing the obvious opportunities. Our team delivers an initial step by step process in collaboration with your team to do the work that Discovers, Defines, Develops and Delivers. This results in the type of campaign that stretches our thinking, abandons our comfort zones and gets curious. So we can step inside every mindset and uncover every messaging opportunity. Naturally we want that to be rooted in a deep understanding of our audience, which is where your stakeholder plan comes into play.

4.2 How We Execute a Stakeholder Plan

The tender art of communication depends on who we believe we are (and can articulate), who we are talking to (and can identify) and the mediums used to express. Our brand strategists are skilled at taking you from what you know to be true about you, straight to the audience that needs to know and hear about it. We’ll work together to identify the various voices under the overarching brand, and craft the precise messaging for each audience type (whether it be end recipient or funding organization) - each has its own space and we honor every one of those. Through our intimately tailored collaboration we can get on the right foot immediately. 4.3 Proposed Timelines and Customary Fees

We can accommodate the initial onboarding, campaign collaboration and brand strategy within the first 30 days of agreement. Simultaneously our media team can develop and present the best use of traditional, digital and outreach/PR to accomplish our objectives. Unlike most agencies, we are project based and do not require retainers and do not have any hidden fees, or ongoing management fees unrelated to actual work at hand. We believe in complete transparency and provide KPIs and budgets, benchmarks and goals up front. There is no initiation fee to work with us. We succeed when you succeed. Naturally, that is why we have clients we have worked with for years or decades. We’re completely committed to you when we become your partner. Your goals become our goals and we act on them accordingly. Deliverables

In short, upon entering into an ‘agency of record’ agreement, we provide you with the budgets for the duration of the campaign (in this case 15 months) broken down into mini campaigns (in this case, likely 4-5) and each medium and audience, for your full approval. We also don’t believe in contracts that you can’t get out of. You hire us; you can leave any time with 30 days notice. We’re that confident in our ability to deliver. We do believe in collaboration and our relationship will depend on your contribution in terms of time, approvals, meetings and completely honest feedback. Given we’re targeting 750-800 new enrollments, we would establish a CPA (Cost per acquisition) with you first and reverse engineer our approach based on this. We’re also very comfortable with telling you if the objective is a unicorn or a really manageable feat. We’re a no-nonsense grass roots agency, after all. Upon establishing an approved campaign calendar, zö agency is staffed to execute immediately - we work on time and on budget, with measurable KPIs and ongoing weekly and monthly meetings to ensure we’re on the same page.

Early messaging will be cultivated in our discovery meeting the week of April 18th. We love to draw from our experience and pull meaningful off the cuff ideas from our brainstorming sessions! For example, before starting work with Benedictine University, affectionately named BenU for short, we developed an initial campaign concept: “We’ve been you. We’re BenU.” We understand that intensive strategy can stall any campaign shooting for a quick launch and we’re terrific at producing interim playbooks, messaging and executing on those while we build out the greater goals.

A problem well put is a problem half solved. Dan believes good design can change the world and that clear intention is the key. He’s been working in communications since he was 15 when he started a highschool radio station and took over his highschool newspaper in the same year. He has been stringing stories and thoughts together ever since. His love for communication has since broadened into all forms of media, but his thirst for the truth and clarity remains.

Dan’s favorite part of his job is helping his clients see their own special magic. He believes that once we recognize ‘who we really are’ and ‘what we really want’ we can do anything. As the saying goes: “Knowing your why will carry you through any how”. As our campaign strategist, Dan is here to help you get to the “big idea” and bring it to life.

6.1 Budgets

We’ll take the bold move of providing initial CPA’s without yet having a full discovery in hand. We suggest you should anticipate a $300 CPA per enrollee as a reasonable estimate. In other words, approximately $240,000 on the higher end, to include campaign and brand workshops, outreach, digital management, event materials, design, presentation resources and all of our team at your side working to bring 750-800 new enrollees on board over the next 15-24 months. We anticipate that your CPA will decrease as we dial in our marketing efforts. Without further discovery meetings we cannot narrow down our target budgets just yet but we will, together!

6.2 Timelines Phase 1 - Planning [1a] Upon agreement 30 days to produce campaign direction, strategy, brand, audience, voice, target and necessary brand, campaign and style guides. We’ll walk this road with you to prepare for the next 14-15 months using clear guidelines.

[1b] Media planning From day 21-45 concurring with the outcome of strategy. We’ll use the right mediums for the highest and best possible outcomes. They may include traditional, digital, PR, outreach, events and more. We’re exceptional media buyers.

[1c] Initial Production From day 30-60 concurring with strategy and media - developing initial materials, web development, collateral and outreach directed to various stakeholders.

Phase 2 - Early execution [2a] Early Messaging Days 15-30 - An interim bridge to the larger unfolding messaging, creative and media plan underway.
