October 9, 2009 Dear Friends of St. James’: Thank you for making St. James’ Episcopal School a priority in your family’s life. In the midst of a tough economic environment, we are grateful that 331 members of the St. James’ community supported our 2008-2009 Annual Giving campaign, raising $440,000. These donations helped us to bridge the gap between revenue from tuition and the actual cost of educating our students ($2,300 per child). We are delighted that the number of current parents who contributed to Annual Giving increased to 82% this year. During the last school year, we also received donations of $223,573 toward our Endowment campaign, which was launched in Spring 2008. The Endowment will provide a perpetual source of income for tuition assistance, professional development, and maintenance of our campus. A few weeks ago, we were proud to open The Leonetti/ O’Connell Family Foundation Science Room. This stateof-the-art facility, complete with six fully-equipped work stations and ceiling-mounted computers, was made possible by a very generous grant from the Foundation and donations raised by the PSF at the Bug Boogie Bash gala. While your child will benefit immediately from the gifts we have received over the past year, future students at St. James’ will benefit from your generosity for many years to come.
