May 14, 2019 - June 5, 2019 Being a graduate from a professional architecture program, four semesters of architecture history, two of which dealt with the classical (Eurocentric) development of architecture until the modern era of Architecture theory Le Corbusier. The Grand Tour, a tour of the classical Mediterranean World as an educational rite of passage for young men in the 17th and 18th century. This trip was a respite after the end our educational years and inevitable transition to working adulthood; two of us had been to Europe before, and two of us had not. This was an opportunity to experience the some of the highlights of classical and contemporary architecture throughout Southern Europe. But just as important as the “big highlights were the moments between those places, the way the streets feel, the mannerisms and dress of people, on the street, and being a part of their way of life.
