Cases registered across the state against accused

Srinagar, May 31, CNS: The Vigilance Organization Kashmir (SVO) registered at least three cases against different officers and officials of Revenue Departments of District Srinagar, Pulwama and Budgam respectively and the private beneficiaries regarding fraudulent and illegal transfer of land under Roshi Act. Scams in JK Bank won’t be tolerated: Hurriyat (M) Srinagar, May 3: Expressing serious concern over the reports of financial indiscipline in Jammu and Kashmir bank, the spokesman of Hurriyat Conference (M) said that the bank being the national asset of Kashmiris, the people have attached great hopes that it would act as an agent of economic progress and prosperity in Kashmir. According to a statement issued to KNS, a Hurriyat (M) spokesman further stated that in a bid to give favour to some blue eyed people, the bank recruited more people than actually needed, provided loans on low interest rates to non-JK firms, which have caused 4000 crore debit liability to the bank. The bank has also provided high interest loans to Kashmiris, and property of worth billions of rupees of JK bank board of Directors and other key office bearers outside Kashmir has harmed the

credibility of the financial institution. The spokesman said the JK bank was acting more as a government department than a financial institution, adding, instead of fulfilling the expectations of people; its functioning has been restricted to provide services to government ministers. Terming JK bank as the people’s institution, the spokesman stated that people are keenly watching the business activities of the bank. He stated that nobody would be allowed to undermine the economic interests of the people of Kashmir, and nor the scams and bungling in the bank is going to be tolerated by the people. ‘Decision on enhancement of retirement age prerogative of Cabinet’ Govt to call Cabinet Sub Committee meeting soon: Sagar Srinagar, May 31: The government is likely to call a meeting of Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) headed by finance minister on enhancement of retirement age of government employees from 58 to 60 years very soon. Talking to KNS, Ali Mohammad Sagar, minister for rural development said: “The government is seriously considering the enhancement of retirement age of government employees and a meeting of Cabinet Sub Committee will be called very soon.” He said that National Conference government never wanted a confrontationist approach to deal with the demands put forth by the government employees. “However, there are many factors that are to be taken into consideration,” Sagar said.

Man drowns in S.Kashmir; Was to get married today Srinagar, May 31: In a tragic incident, a man, who was scheduled to get marry on Sunday, died after he went to wash his face in a stream in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday morning, locals said. Devastating fire claims four lives in Jammu Jammu, May 31, CNS: Four people including a police constable were charred to death after a fire broke out in a hotel near General Bus Stand area in Jammu city during wee hours of Saturday morning.
