One dies in road mishap Srinagar, Feb 2: One person died while his sustained injuries in a road accident in Pattan area of Baramulla District this morning. A Maruti car bearing registration number DL3C-2044 turned turtle near Diver crossing, resulting in injuries to driver of the Maruti car Harjeet Singh and her sister Ranjeet Kour residents of Alachibagh, Srinagar. Both the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Pattan where Harjeet Singh succumbed to his injuries. The injured Ranjeet Kour was referred to SKIMS, Soura for further treatment. Pattan Police has registered a case in this regard.
Unidentified body recovered in Srinagar Srinagar, Feb 2: The body of unidentified male was recovered at Meloora, Srinagar last evening. Police recovered a male unidentified body near Maloora, in the jurisdiction of Police station Parimpora. The deceased is about 65 years of age. Police Parimpora has initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of the death. Discusses Pathribal case closure, LoC trade suspension Jammu, Feb 02: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Sunday afternoon met Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh here and discussed Pathribal case closure by army and suspension of cross LoC trade. Besides this, CM briefed him about the peace and development prevailing in the State at present. According to GNS, Chief Minister during an hour long meeting with Prime Minister at Raj Bahawan here in Jammu discussed the issue of closure of case by army in respect of Pathribal incident and emphasized the need of giving justice to the families of victims and punishment to those responsible for innocent killings. The Chief Minister also discussed suspension of trade across LOC after the seizure of truck load of contraband drugs and stressed the need for amicable resolution of the matter with Pakistan so that the important CBM of trade across the LOC is not jeopardized. Chief Minister also apprised the Prime Minister of the achievements registered by the coalition government during the last five years in the State in various fields of socio-economic development, empowerment of people, employment generation and restoration of peace and stability. Srinagar, Feb 2: After the creation of new administrative units in the state was finalized by the government on Saturday, most of the mainstream political parties Sunday reserved their comments over the development saying they are analyzing the report.
