Kejriwal’s list of corrupt will not be followed by any action: Mehbooba Srinagar, Feb 5: Opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday said that the ‘list of corrupt politicians’ prepared by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will not be followed by any appropriate action. “We have seen that the corrupt politicians are not being brought to book and that is why the people suffer at large,” said PDP president while talking to KNS. She stated further that the people want an action be taken but on ground no serious measures are being taken. Mehbooba said that in past there have been several scams but the action against the culprits still remains a distant dream. Accusing that the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) scam involving embezzlement of Crores of rupees, Mehbooba stated that people have the right to ask who has signed those cheques. “There has been the killing of Haji Yousuf but no one has been allowed to ask that who has killed him or how he died?” Commenting over the alleged regional discrimination between Jammu and Kashmir in creation of new administrative units in the state, Mehbooba said that no criteria has been adopted while taking the decision. “People are on roads and are aghast over the creation of new administrative units. There is discrimination between village after a village. No discipline has been followed in the creation of these units. SAC dismissed case against Tara, Saroori Jammu, Feb 5 (KNS): The State Accountability Commission (SAC), Wednesday dismissed the cases against deputy chief minister Tara Chand and former cabinet minister G M Saroori. According to Advocate Tahir Majid Shamsi who appeared on behalf of Saroori and Tara Chand in the matter, said the SAC has dismissed a case against deputy chief minister Tara Chand for being allegedly involved in large scale appointments in Urban and Local Bodies department. Advocate Shams said that the case of being a “mute spectator” to the large-scale “illegal” allotment of works against senior congress leader and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori during his stint as minister for Roads and Buildings department has also been dismissed. On May 29, 2013 SAC had ordered a regular inquiry against Saroori for allegedly being involved in allotment of works without floating the tenders. In its order, the SAC Coram comprising of Justice (Retired) Y P Nargotra chairperson and Justice (Retired) Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain, had said that there sufficient grounds to direct a regular inquiry against Saroori. The inquiry order was passed following a complaint filed by Saquib Mushtaq a resident of Qamarwari Srinagar. The complainant had leveled various allegations against Saroori including that of corruption and misuse of his official position. (KNS)

New Delhi, Feb 05: Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Shri Manish Tewari has said that the proposed Cinematograph Bill 2013 as suggested by the Justice Mudgal Committee Report had incorporated the contemporary changes and addressed the needs of the film and creative industry. Introduction of prevention of Communal Violence Bill deferred in RS New Delhi, Feb 5: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after witnessing three adjournments on several issues prominent being Telangana and new Communal Violence Bill. Cutting across party-lines, members opposed the Prevention of Communal Violence (Access to Justice and Reparations) Bill, 2014 saying that the Centre is not competent to legislate on a subject which relates to the jurisdiction of the states. Leader of Opposition Arun Jaitley said the bill is beyond the legislative parlance of the Centre. India-Germany to enhance bilateral ties
