2 die, 3 injured in road mishaps Srinagar, July 06: Two persons including a minor boy were died and three others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir Valley. A Truck bearing registration number JK05B/6797 hit a Motorcycle bearing registration number JK18/5568 at Uranhal, Anantnag in the jurisdiction of police station Bijbehara, resulting in injuries to pillion rider Abid Rehman Najar son of Abdul Rehman resident of Budroo Yaripora. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. A case FIR number 130/2013 Under section 279,304A RPC has been registered in this regard. In another accident a Matador bearing registration number JK01H’/6381 hit and injured a 04 years boy Huzair son of Abdul Gaffar resident of Umer Colony at Umer colony, Srinagar, in the jurisdiction of police station Parimpora. The injured has been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered in this regard. An unidentified Tata Sumo hit and injured a Cyclist Nadeem Ahmad son of Mohammad Rafiq resident of Donipowa at Brakpora, Anantnag, in the jurisdiction of police station Anantnag. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard. In another accident, an Alto Car bearing registration number JK01K/2202 collided with Motorcycle bearing registration number JK03B/6102 driven by Munzoor Ahmad Sheikh near petrol pump at Mominabad, Anantnag, resulting in injuries to Motorcyclist. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard. Meanwhile, an Alto Car K-10 bearing registration number JK05D/2517 driven by Tahir Ali Dar hit and injured a woman Jana Begum wife of Abdul Aziz Ahangar resident of Mangloora at Mangloora crossing, Baramulla, in the jurisdiction of police station Kunzer. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.

Security guard killed in misfire Srinagar, July 06: A policeman on duty at the summer residence of a former minister Saturday lost his life when his service rifle went off accidently. Head Constable Abdul Gani Dar of 3rd Battalion IRP died on spot when a bullet that came out from his service riffle hit him at the official residence of former Higher Education Minister Abdul Gani Malik at Shivpora here, police said. Dar died on the spot, police said adding that it was not immediately known how the incident occurred. The former minister or his family members were not present in the house when the incident happened.

Man commits suicide in Kulgam Srinagar July 06: Mohammad Shafi Chopan, age about 35 years, son of Razaq Chopan resident of Vesoo, Kulgam, in the jurisdiction of police station Qazigund, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence. Body handed over his relatives after completing all legal formalities.

House damaged in fire Srinagar July 06: Fire broke out in the residential house of Shabir Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Rathepora Eidgah, Srinagar, in which 3rd story of the house was gutted completely. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in this incident.

India, China for enhancing trust, understanding

Bejing, July 06:

Noting that peace and tranquility on the border was an important guarantor for the growth and development of bilateral cooperation, India and China on Saturday emphasized the importance of enhancing mutual trust and understanding between the two militaries. “They reviewed the working of agreements and protocols dealing with the maintenance of peace and tranquility and directed that it be further strengthened. Make Kashmir a priority in Indo-Pak talks: PDP Srinagar, July 06: Patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on Saturday said Nawaz Sharif's coming to power in Pakistan will script a new chapter of peace and normalcy in the Indo-Pak relations. Another Amarnath pilgrim dies; toll 3 Srinagar, July 06: Another pilgrim has died on way to the Amarnath shrine in north-east Kashmir's Sonamarg. The death of Satinder Soni (38), a resident of Ludhiana in Punjab, has taken the toll since the yatra started on June 28 to three. All the three died of cardiac arrest. "Soni breathed his last at Brarimarg while returning to the Baltal base camp from the cave shrine on Friday evening," said shrine board official in Sonamarg, 110 km from Srinagar.
