Crime Branch arrests 3 out of 17 absconders Trying our best to nab all accused: IGP Crime
Srinagar, June 10 : After being censured by the High Court for its slow action, the Crime Branch has arrested three out of 17 absconders wanted in Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) paper leak scam. Sources told KNS, that out of the three arrested, one had surrendered after his property was confiscated. All the three accused are now under judicial custody in central Jail Srinagar. Sources told KNS that two out of three accused now in central jail are senior officers in the forest department while as the third is assistant executive engineer. “These three arrested officers had purchased papers for their wards and were wanted in the matter,” a senior officer in the crime branch told KNS. Sources in the court identified the three accused who are now in central jail as DFO Mohammad Amin, DFO Altaf Shah and AEE Mushtaq Ahmad Dar. On May 23, the high court had reprimanded the Crime Branch for its slow pace

Islamabad, June 10: Taliban militants on Tuesday attacked a training camp of the Airport Security Force near Karachi international airport in Karachi, but fled after Pakistani forces repulsed the assault, a day after an all-night siege at the facility left nearly 40 people dead. Two militants attacked the camp number 2, located at the ASF academy in Bitai Abad, near the Jinnah International Airport which had been cleared of militants after fierce clashes between forces and terrorists yesterday. The attackers failed to penetrate the security cordon and managed to flee into nearby congested residential areas. ASF spokesman Col Tahir Ali said the incident had been played up and dismissed reports about five terrorists entering the base camp and engaging the security forces. "The fact is that two men on a motorcycle came this morning to gate D of our camp and fired on two lady ASF officials on duty there but as soon as our forces retaliated and took positions after a brief exchange of fire they fled into the neighbourhood of Pehalwan Goth," Ali said.
