2020: A GOOD YEAR TO HOP ON A BIKE Starting this year, the government has simplified rules for business use of bicycles – both regular and electric bikes. Previously, employees had to keep a record of all business rides, but that’s now been replaced with payment of a fixed gross 7% addition for the use of a business bike. Employees who also use other forms of transportation will continue to qualify for a tax-free commuting expenses reimbursement of 19 eurocents per kilometer. In other words: there’s no better time to switch to a bike! In 2020, 100 commuters in Zuidas will have a chance to try out an e-bike or speed pedelec for two weeks. GBC Zuidas will start off with an e-bike try-out open to employees who live ten kilometers or further from Zuidas and normally commute by car. Interested? PRINTLESS IS MORE On 30 March Green Business Club Nederland will be launching another national PrintLess Contest. Last year’s competition attracted twenty companies nationwide, including four in Zuidas, which battled for the greatest reduction in printer use over two whole months. In the final count, the contest saved an impressive 796,661 sheets of printer paper! At the end of this month companies and regions will again start vying to print as little as possible. Their aim: to reduce paper use, boost awareness about printer use and change behaviour over the long term.
