In recent years, KOK has been actively advocating cultural exchanges and dialogues among artists and cultural workers in the region as well as internationally. He has also taken up teaching, curatorial and dramaturgical roles in many projects.

Born in 1958, Freeman Lau is a renowned artist and designer in Hong Kong. Freeman is currently the Founder of KL&K Creative S t r a t e g i c s , t h e Vi c e C h a i r m a n f o r t h e Design Alliance Asia (tDA Asia), a Director of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), and the Secretary General of Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations (FHKDA). These years, he is devoted in promoting the design industry. As the secretary general of the Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations, Mr. Lau cocurated the 1st (2014) & 2nd (2016) "HK-SZ Design Biennale” with 39 design associations from Hong Kong and Shenzhen in various design disciplines including graphic design, new media design, fashion design, interior design, industrial design, etc. The success of the biennale is owing to the full support from different sectors in the society.

His most recent design achievements include “The Best Asian Designer” at the 2014 Asian Designers’ Invitational Exhibition in Korea endorsed by ico-D (2014), “Grand Award of DFA Design for Asia Awards” (2015), and “iF Design Award” (2016).

Zuni has been devoted all along to encourage exchanges among the cultural and creative industries of the cities by launching programmes such as the Chinese Creative Industries Forum, Festival of Vision: Hong Kong/ Berlin, Toki International Arts Festival and AsiaPacific Performing Arts Network.

Zuni has been most inspiring in developing the aesthetics of theatre in Chinese society, with its experimental and subversive nature, and this could be seen in the interactive experiments in the narrative (or rather non-narrative), form and space in its early works. The same spirit could be found in the multimedia design in lights, images, sounds and spaces as in the attempts in the area of crossmedia performances, to cross-boundary political and civil area, and to cross-region international cultural exchanges. 進 念 早 於 1997 年 及 1999 年 分 別 主 催 香
As early as in 1997 and 1999, Zuni Icosahedron initiated the Hong Kong-Taipei-ShanghaiShenzhen City-to-City Cultural Exchange Conference and Asia Arts Net respectively to promote arts and cultural policy researches and reviews. Zuni has been devoted all along to encourage exchanges among the cultural and creative industries of the cities by launching programmes such as the Chinese Creative Industries Forum, Festival of Vision: Hong Kong/ Berlin, Toki International Arts Festival and AsiaPacific Performing Arts Network.

Zuni has been most inspiring in developing the aesthetics of theatre in Chinese society, with its experimental and subversive nature, and this could be seen in the interactive experiments in the narrative (or rather non-narrative), form and space in its early works. The same spirit could be found in the multimedia design in lights, images, sounds and spaces as in the attempts in the area of crossmedia performances, to cross-boundary political and civil area, and to cross-region international cultural exchanges. The topics covered stretch from popular culture to social taboos, from the traditional to the contemporary.
