From June to September 2018, Zuni Icosahedron together with Hong Kong Development and Strategic Research Centre conducted their own public consultation exercise in eight local secondary schools, during and after Zuni's theatre performances, in response to the 2018 public consultation activities of the Task Force on Land Supply with a goal to look for short-term, mediumterm and long-term solutions to improve housing and land use. After the performances, we compiled a report responding to the consultation of the Task Force on Land Supply. The report offered the Task Force some concrete recommendations such as to empower the district councils to take the initiative in the search for housing and land; to rebuild temporary housing; to revive the use of vacant space and make good use of abandoned agricultural land. The aforesaid suggestions will only help to alleviate the short-term housing problem of low- and middle-income people. In the long run, however, there is an urgent need to reform the planning system of the Hong Kong Government by revising the housing policy, separating the user market from the investment market, and collecting the housing data for longterm research. A stable housing supply will help to narrow the gap between the rich and the poor, and thus improve Hong Kong's overall competitiveness.
