BVLGARI celebrates special night at the Van Gogh Museum

B

VLGARI celebrated the homecoming of the stolen masterpieces of Vincent Van Gogh with a special night at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Two Vincent Van Gogh’s stolen masterpieces were recovered in Naples, Italy, fourteen years after their theft from the Museum, thanks to the invaluable efforts and contribution of the Italian Guardia di Finanza and other competent authorities. The Embassy of Italy in the Netherlands was aware that major brands of ‘Made in Italy’ could contribute to the

Museum’s efforts to restore the two masterpieces. BVLGARI replied immediately to the Embassy’s call and made it to its mission to once again preserve cultural heritage by aiding the homecoming of the two pieces. The project would fit perfectly in the wider cultural collaboration between Italy and the Netherlands. Especially for BVLGARI invitees, the paintings, “View of the Sea at Scheveningen” and “Congregation leaving the Reformed Church in Nuenen”, were displayed at the Van Gogh Museum for one night only. After a private tour through the museum, guests enjoyed a dinner in the museum.

Serpenti’s inspiration is the omnipresent serpentine motif found in ancient Rome, which is nowadays still the main muse for one of BVLGARI’s most iconic and divine collections. The artful inspirations cannot only be found in heritage pieces, but also in recent collections. The Diva collection, inspired by the Caracalla thermal baths’ mosaic floors, offers the perfect example of how BVLGARI is, and has always been, in tune with the world of arts. Similarly, the Colosseum, the most famous circular monument of the world, provided BVLGARI with the inspiration for the celebrated B.01 ring.

BVLGARI evermore seeks to bridge jewelry with art, in belief that these two universes share the same creative drive in designing, moulding and finishing unique pieces whose vocation it is to remain eternal. When it comes to sketching a jewel, BVLGARI aims to surpass creative boundaries, drawing inspiration from art, archaeology, architectural details and nature, thus continually keeping the link between art and the pieces alive. erlin - On the 4th of November the Deutsche Opera opened up the doors for the 24th Festive Opera gala in favour of the German AIDS Foundation. It was an exclusive evening for the more than 2,000 guests from Politics, Economics, Culture and Media. The Initiators have been delighted that so many guests have followed their invitation to support the good cause: “The amount of guests proves every year how important our fight against HIV and AIDS is” explains Dr. Alard von Rohr, and Alfred Weiss complemented: “We are happy about net receipts in the amount of 500,000 Euro.” With this years’ receipts more than 8 Million Euro have been contributed to the German AIDS Foundation in total.

Evenings’ highlight was the awarding of the “World Without AIDS Award” to H.R.H. Princess Mabel van Oranje and Michel Sidibé who have been awarded for their outstanding engagement in global fight against HIV and AIDS. With her Foundation “Girls Not Brides” Mabel van Oranje is fighting to end child marriage, since AIDS is the number one death cause number one among young girls (age 10 - 19) in Africa and number two in the world. UNAIDS Executive Director, Michel Sidibé has the vision that more and more countries agree upon an action plan to end the AIDS epidemic by 2030.

The Festive Opera gala is, with its high level guest list, the internationally well-known artists and attractive evening program, a constant in the social life of the German capital and one of the most important charity events in favour of the German AIDS Foundation. The gala has been presented by Audi: “It is a special honour for us to support the German AIDS Foundation and to be a partner in this fight against HIV and AIDS”, Martin Sander, Head of Sales Germany, explains the engagement of the AUDI AG.

The German AIDS Foundation is the largest AIDS charity organization in Germany which directly supports people affected. For more than 30 years the organization supports needy people with HIV and AIDS by supporting projects like assisted living, qualification measures or recovery.

Strong contours give way to trendy strobing. The 2017/2018 red carpet season is also celebrating rouge’s big comeback, with cheeks glowing in dewy peach tones. Lavish but natural eyebrows add a touch of the wild, and softly gleaming lips provide a calm contrast, complementing the look. A combination of subtlety and intensity that leaves both an impression and a sense of playfulness.

This season’s colour trend is “millennial pink”, and it creates fashionable, expressive eyes. This year, however, the theme is intensity, with deliberate but “unintentional” highlights. Not precise, but that is the cost of being cool; simply and almost carelessly blended onto the eyelids, the eye make-up gives off a feeling of free-spiritedness and casual elegance.

Light shows brighten up Hong Kong Christmas

wo spectacular light shows over Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour – the new version of the internationally acclaimed nightly multimedia light show A Symphony of Light and the winter version of the Hong Kong Pulse Light Show – unveiled on 1st December 2017. The two worldclass shows, best viewed from the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, will brighten up Hong Kong’s Christmas with dynamic lighting effects and the illusion of an icy atmosphere at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. The new version of A Symphony of Lights features dynamic rays of light sent out in rhythm from 40 buildings and locations on both sides of the Victoria Harbour. The new show incorporates a variety of exciting lighting effects such as coloured searchlights, lasers, and all - new beam lights sent out like a special fan-shaped lighting effect from the roof of the Central Government Offices and the Revenue Tower. Ten LED panels on a number of harbour side buildings are for the first time joining the multi-media show, displaying images and messages to encourage audience participation.

The show is complemented by music from Asia’s leading classical orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, providing visitors with a thrilling and unforgettable soundand-light experience. The 10-minute show begins at 8pm every evening. Immediately after A Symphony of Lights, the winter version of Hong Kong Pulse Light Show begins at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Spectators can view it from the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza. The 3D projection show begins with a snowstorm which covers the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in snow and ice and blows away the numbers on the Clock Tower, stopping time just before Christmas arrives. An ingenious dragon then sets out to find the missing numbers which are scattered across Hong Kong landmarks. The dragon eventually finds them and restarts time to save Christmas. During the show, the piazza is decorated with snowing effect along with glowing LED balls and a giant crystal ball. The 8-minute performance runs from 1st to 28th December 2017.

Hosted by Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, Robert Buchbauer, at the stunning Villa Gernetto in the Milanese countryside, high profile attendees included models Alessandra Ambrosio, Martha Hunt and Shanina Shaik, and Brazilian influencer Giovanna Ewbank.

SWAROVSKI celebrates “Women of Impact”

warovski made its debut with the ‘Women of Impact’ discussion featuring Hollywood star Glenn Close, alongside exclusive lunch and cocktail events for guests from the worlds of cinema and business. The discussion was held as part of the 13th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF), which opened its doors on September 29. Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, commented: “We are delighted having opened our partnership with the ‘Women of Impact’ discussion. Swarovski has been closely involved in the world of cinema since the earliest days of Hollywood. This exciting event provides a fantastic platform to showcase our passion for culture and the performing arts, alongside our wider commitment to supporting women’s empowerment issues across society”.

Hollywood star Glenn Close joined Annie Starke, Astrid von Stockar, and Member of the Swarovski Executive Board Nadja Swarovski for the ‘Women of Impact’ discussion, organized by the Müller-Möhl Foundation and Spoundation Motion Picture. The conversation focused on the role of women in business and society, and women’s opportunities to create positive impact. Joined by her daughter, actor Annie Starke, Hollywood actress Glenn Close talked about her career and her new film The Wife, in which the protagonist liberates herself from her husband. Swarovski organized an exclusive lunch as a prelude to ‘Women of Impact’ with local and international VIPs from the film industry and the corporate world coming together in the luxurious surroundings of the five-star Baur au Lac Hotel.
