The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan
Saturday 2nd December 2017 to Tuesday 2nd January 2018 At Pomegranate Theatre Hoist the mainsail. Ship loads of pantomime-style nautical naughtiness is setting sail this Christmas as we hook up with the boy who never grew up in The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan. Defying gravity, Wendy, Michael and John Darling take the second star to the right and straight on till morning as they fly from the rooftops of Victorian London to join Peter, the Lost Boys and the fairy Tinkerbell in Never Land where the Jolly Roger is anchored and Captain Hook is on a mission to outwit and out manoeuvre our hero. Dame Able Mabel is on course to deliver a titanic treasure chest of sea faring couture and the ship’s mate Smee will add to the chock-a-block comedy capers and high sea shenanigans! You don’t have to believe in fairies but an awfully big adventure awaits audiences of all ages in a magical and spectacular pantomime!
Great news...we are happy to announce that Peak FM breakfast show presenters Cat & Ricky will play a part in a performance of this year's Pantomime - The Adventures of Peter Pan at Chesterfield Theatres. The gift that keeps on giving is back again for the last time (so far). We last saw The Barden Bellas when they were graduating college and winning the World Acapella Championships. Now they are off living their own lives and discovering it isn’t that easy when you aren’t in college and singing acapella all the time. But when the opportunity arises for the old gang to get back together to perform in a USO tour in Europe, they jump at the chance. They then face the new obstacle when their apparent competition comes with actual musical Instruments. All the Bellas return for this

To beat the game and return to the real world they have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives and change the way they think about themselves or they’ll be stuck in the game forever. Christmas is almost here!! I absolutely LOVE it but as always it brings the usual stresses of present buying, socialising and the expectation of being merry. This month I wanted to offer you some quick tips for fighting the Christmas stress! 1) Remember and repeat – “this too shall pass”! This is a phrase I learned to believe in whole-heartedly when I had my son a couple of years ago. It may feel like it’s never ending, but you won’t be queuing forever. The work Xmas party will be over in a few hours. Hang in there - it passes. Christmas lasts a couple of weeks and then it’s all over for another fifty! 2) Learn how to calm down. I’ve mentioned 7/11 breathing in a heap of previous articles. It works! Use positive self-talk and conscious muscle relaxation to cope and ease the strain and the panic. 3) Check your diet. Boring – it’s Christmas which means a box of orange Matchmakers definitely counts as one of my 5 a day. But too much indulgence will leave you sluggish, tired and probably in a sugar crash where you’ll feel extra
grumpy and bah-humbug like! Grab a satsuma and some nuts! 4) Get more sleep. It’s the season of office parties, kid’s plays and seeing absent relatives, often who live far away. We cram a lot into our Christmas holidays (if we’re lucky enough to get time off from work) and this often leaves us sleep-deprived, rather than rested. Take time to get some extra sleep where you can. You don’t have to cram every minute full and you don’t have to accept every invitation. 5) Plan ahead. As much as there is to fit in, there’s nothing quite as head exploding as being ready to set off to a family party only to realise that you need to wrap some presents for some people that you won’t see again. It’s not worth the stress. Get organised avoiding stress is a whole heap better than dealing with it!! I hope that some of these tips are useful and I wish you all a very happy and calm Christmas and huge best wishes for the new year ahead! See you next month. HJ’s executive director, Jayne Lewis-Orr, said: “Congratulations to all the Mark Leeson winners from myself and the whole Hairdressers Journal International team. It’s wonderful to see a salon so committed to supporting their team in entering these awards and just fantastic that their hard work, skill and dedication pays off.” Mark Leeson, said: ‘‘The competition was incredible so to come home with three wins is absolutely amazing! I am so, so proud of all my team who worked so hard to produce some stunning collections through their passion, hard work and commitment. What a fantastic evening!’’
