Becky’s Movie Previews That’s it! We’ve reached the end of the year and its time to get festive! For those that like to shy away from anything related to Christmas, you’re in luck as all the Christmas themed films came out in November. So wrap up warm and head to the cinema for some escape. Here is what will be showing in December.

Coming Soon… Lizzie For those who are True Crime fans, you may recognise the name Lizzie Borden. She was the centre of a high profile murder trial of her father and step mother in 1892. She was tried and acquitted of the crime which still remains a mystery to this day. There are various theories about what happened, many still believing that Lizzie did do it. One theory is that she was caught by her step-mother in an intimate situation with their house-maid which led to the murders. This theory is the basis of the upcoming film starting Chloe Sevigny (Boys Don’t Cry, Big Love) as Lizzie and Kristen Stewart (Twilight, Snow White

Aquaman

12

Release date: 14 December 2018 th

and the Huntsman) as Bridget, the house-maid. In 1892, after the Borden family welcomes a new Irish maid called Bridget Sullivan (Stewart), she and Lizzie (Sevigny) become friends. The friendship between these women becomes something more through shared experiences of physical and sexual abuse from Mr. Borden. But tension in the Borden household grows, leading to a violent breaking point. Although what actually happened to the Borden’s will never be known, this is a brilliantly made film which leads audiences to show sympathy and empathy to Lizzie; even if she did brutally murder her parents. Aquaman is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Initially a backup feature in DC's anthology titles, Aquaman later starred in several volumes of a solo comic book series. During the late 1950s and 1960s superhero-revival period known as the Silver Age, he was a founding member of the Justice League. In the 1990s Modern Age, writers interpreted Aquaman's character more seriously, with storylines depicting the weight of his role as king of Atlantis. In the DC Extended Universe, actor Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) portrayed the character in the films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Momoa is reprising his role in this new solo film, Aquaman.

In the film Aquaman finds himself caught between a surface world that ravages the sea and the underwater Atlanteans who are ready to revolt. The film also stars Amber Heard (The Rum Diary, Machete Kills), Nicole Kidman and Dolph Lundgren. Comic book fans will be sure to flock to this first solo outing for the half human/half Atlantian, although I’m not sure what wider audiences will think. Although I’m sure Momoa will be half the attraction as well being rather popular figure himself. Release date: 14 December- 2018

Mary Poppins Returns The story of Mary Poppins is well loved by millions of people around the world who around this time of year like to re-watch the magical nanny time and time again. Now she is back, returning to Cherry Tree Lane to come to the aid of the Banks children to help them rediscover the joy they once knew. Set in 1930s London, which is the time period of the original novels by P.L. Travers. The story follows Michael (Ben Whishaw; Skyfall, Spectre)) and Jane Banks (Emily Mortimer; Hugo, Harry Brown), who are now grown up. Michael is living with his three children and housekeeper Ellen (Julie Walters), in the house on Cherry Tree Lane. After Michael has a personal loss, Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt; The Girl on the Train, The Devil Wears

Prada) comes back into their lives. She is joined by a street lamplighter named Jack who was an apprentice of Bert’s (LinManuel Miranda; Hamilton), and an eccentric cousin named Topsy (Meryl Streep). The character of Mary Poppins is a pretty big one to fill after Julie Andrews made it such an iconic role but Blunt seems to have taken it on naturally and it’s sure to be a hit with old and new fans alike. Russell Grant’s Horoscopes - December a cosy, intimate affair spent with your nearest and dearest. 2018 will end on a romantic note; prepare for a passionate encounter with an ardent admirer. GEMINI May 22nd June 21st

ARIES March 21st April 20th A power struggle will erupt in early December, putting you in line for a big promotion. The Solar Eclipse on the 6th exposes a corrupt official. Their immediate dismissal will leave a big gap in the leadership structure of a political organisation or business. Don't be surprised when you're asked to take over. You're famous for having exceptional leadership skills. Instead of letting personal relationships affect your decisions, you're ruled by logic. Matching the right person with the appropriate position will boost morale. It will also rescue a troubled organisation from oblivion. A Lunar Eclipse on the 21st finds you benefitting from a big risk. Confessing a crush or taking a financial gamble was daring, but it was the right move. Spending Christmas overseas is a strong possibility. You'll end the year on a high note. Thanks to your improved financial position, you'll be able to throw a lavish New Year's Eve party. TAURUS April 21st May 21st The Solar Eclipse on the 6th changes your world view. Take this opportunity to go on an overseas trip, work with refugees or learn about a foreign culture. You'll gain a newfound respect for a group whose beliefs resonate with your own. If you've been longing to get an advanced degree but lack the funds, apply for a scholarship. An educational, cultural or religious organisation will pay your tuition. On the 21st, a Lunar Eclipse will bring the end to a property matter. You could sell a piece of land, buy a new home or both. If you're happy with where you are living, a grown up child could leave the nest or a home improvement project will come to a close. Christmas will be

An unexpected windfall will arrive on or around the 6th, courtesy of an enriching Solar Eclipse. An inheritance, legal settlement or insurance refund will transform your lifestyle. At long last, you'll have the money to buy a home, car or both. If you've been longing to start your own business, this would be a great opportunity to do so. Don't hesitate to form a partnership with someone who has lots of experience in this field. Their expertise will help you avoid pitfalls that other entrepreneurs experience. Take their advice seriously, even when it seems stuffy and conservative. The Lunar Eclipse on the 21st will prompt you to finish a creative project or withdraw from social media. Although you've enjoyed sharing your thoughts with others, it's time to replenish your intellectual stores. You'll spend Christmas rubbing elbows with stimulating people; let someone introduce you to their culture's holiday tradition. Ring out 2018 with someone who makes your pulse pound. CANCER June 22nd July 23rd The Solar Eclipse on the 6th paves the way for a powerful partnership. Getting engaged or exchanging wedding vows will improve your chances for success. With a supportive partner at your side, you will be able to move mountains. If you're not interested in love, you could join forces with an accomplished business partner. This will be a great time to become your own boss. Hiring someone to look after complicated legal or financial matters would also be a good idea, whether it's an accountant, manager, lawyer or agent. On the 21st, the Lunar Eclipse will bring a source of income to a close. This will leave you free to pursue a more rewarding line of work. A position that seems out of reach will be offered to you. Glowing letters of reference will convince the powers that be that you are the right person for this job. Attend a festive party at Christmas,

but enjoy a private New Year's Eve just with your amour. LEO July 24th August 23rd The Solar Eclipse on the 6th is the best time of the entire year to begin a health regime. Overhauling your diet and exercise routines will result in a happier, healthier you. If you've been looking for a job, you'll be offered one that transforms your lifestyle. You might have to relocate to a different city, work unorthodox hours or get paid on a commission basis. No matter what the nature of this change, it will work to your benefit. On the 21st, a Lunar Eclipse will prompt you to step away from a demanding role. You've had great success in this position, but now you're ready to rest, relax and have some fun. Christmas will be a time of lovely surprises. If you get a chance to celebrate with friends who live overseas, do so. Ringing out 2018 in exotic surroundings will set an exciting tone for the New Year. VIRGO August 24th September 23rd A love affair will give you an attractive glow on the 6th, courtesy of the romantic Solar Eclipse. If you're looking for a partner, you will find one at a professional gathering or political organisation. It will be difficult to resist the charm of an accomplished person. You'll be impressed by their ambition, while they'll delight in your wit and intelligence. Are you in a relationship? Your amour will give you a beautiful token of their affection. Accept this gift with a happy heart; there are no strings attached. If you've been working on a creative project, take this opportunity to submit it to a publisher, gallery or competition. The Lunar Eclipse on the 21st prompts you to tie up loose ends in style. You'll be able to spend Christmas relaxing in the company of friends. If you've been longing to spend quality time with your amour, sneak off to a quiet hideaway together on New Year's Eve.

Moving to another place, welcoming a baby or elderly relative to your household and changing your citizenship are all possibilities. This change will have a profound effect on your entire life, making you feel more confident and empowered. If a relative leaves an inheritance to you, use this money to create long term financial security. Put a deposit on a home or start a retirement portfolio. On the 21st, a Lunar Eclipse brings an end to a group project, allowing you to form a new work partnership. Collaborating with a bold rebel will cause your own star to rise. Throw a big Christmas party that includes both old and new friends. It's time to bring separate parts of your life together. New Year's Eve will be quite romantic, when your amour surprises you with a fun outing. SCORPIO October 24th November 22nd The 6th would be a propitious time for launching a blog, website or podcast, as a Solar Eclipse will attract favourable and encouraging attention. You could get a rave review from a celebrity you've never met. Alternatively, you will be offered a publishing or broadcasting contract. Getting paid to talk about your favourite artists, musicians, books and films will be the answer to a prayer. Beware of making hurtful remarks in a public forum. Adopting a positive attitude will attract a loyal following, while a snarky attitude will create fame that is only fleeting. The Lunar Eclipse on the 21st brings a satisfying end to a job or public office. This will leave you free to enjoy a relaxing Christmas season. Attending a lavish party will be a great opportunity to show off an eye catching outfit. New Year's Eve urges you to get a head start on a health regime. Spend the final days of 2018 by cleansing your body of toxins. SAGITTARIUS November 23rd - December 21st

CAPRICORN December 22nd - January 20th

PETS CORNER - No Deal Brexit implications for pet travel… comply with when entering the UK. This process is a microchip and rabies vaccination, followed by a minimum of a 30 day wait, then a rabies titre test and a further three months wait before travel can take place. This means that if we exit the EU with no deal and you intend to travel into Europe from the 30th of March 2019 you will need to have started the export process described by the 30th of November 2018. It also means that instead of preparation of a pet to go abroad taking three weeks and around £100 the process will now take four months and cost over £300. There are no plans at this time to change the rules for animals returning to the UK. This is sad from the perspective that this would be a missed opportunity to stop the flood of ill breeding and shipping of puppies from eastern Europe into the UK but appears like many things we may be getting the worst of both worlds on this as well. It does however

Sadly even in the pet world Brexit has to be mentioned. As we approach the Brexit deadline date and no deal is yet agreed it has become clear if you intend to travel with your pet from the spring you may well have to think now about preparing for the new world post EU membership. Currently cats and dogs can travel across Europe after becoming compliant with the common EU Pet Passport scheme. This involves microchipping your pet and having a rabies vaccination recorded in a pet passport by an authorised vet and waiting 21 days pre-travel. From midnight on Thursday the 29th of March 2018 unless a Brexit deal detailing an alternative arrangement is agreed the UK will exit the EU pet passport scheme. This will mean that potentially to travel to Europe you will need to adhere to the same rules as dogs coming from unlisted countries have to

mean if you or relatives are living abroad and coming back with pets at the moment the new restrictions that we think will be placed by Europe on exports to the EU will not be placed on imports from the EU to the UK. However, I would keep an eye on the DEFRA websites if you or anyone you know is planning this as things are fairly dynamic at this time as you can imagine with negotiations ongoing. With the new guidance in the case of a no deal having just been issued and many people already booked to take pets to Europe there is only four weeks for some to get pets booked in. As such vets are under huge pressure to get pets prepared which is causing a short supply of appointments, passports and vaccinations. So, don’t leave it to the last minute if you need to be sure your pet can travel in 2019 as a result of Brexit.
