Daniella Garo, Kauai Key Club
On this new year on January 19, 2024, Kauai High School Key Club had an organized social event that many of the members participated in. Instead of havinganin-personcommunal,itwasanonlinesocial over Google Meets. To start off the meet, the members were all required to create two Valentine cards for care home residents either digitally or on paper to receive their hours for their service project. After some time, the members had some entertainmentsuchasgamesandquestionnairesthat eachmemberhadtoparticipateinandengagewith. OneoftheentertainmentswasGimmeGimme, which is a game where someone randomly calls out an object (for example, “Gimme gimme a piece of paper”) and others will attempt to be the first to turn theircameraonandbringthatspecificobjecttothat person before anyone else. Along with that, the members were put into their pod groups to answer somequestionsaboutthecluboverall.Notonlywasit a game, but it was also a Q&A to learn more and gain an understanding of Key Club. This event was enjoyable and fun, as every member there contributedtomakeitsuccessful.

On Thursday, January 25, our club held a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle up tables in the quad and sold paper balloons for $1 and a paper balloon also able to have Kaley-Mae and her family, who received help from CMN, collecting money, handing out the paper balloons or goodie bags, and balloons. We had lots of people come down to buy paper balloons and Kaley-Mae. Kaley-Mae’s family also brought pins for the people who donated goodie bags. Overall this was a very successful project because the students the people who are being helped by CMN and Kaley-Mae had a great time! again and have Kaley-Mae come back next year.

MEMBER of the Month
Helen is an absolutely extraordinary member who constantly helps with projects, providing both her time and her own personal funds as she has bought concessions and supplies for multiple events for Kealakehe’s Key Club. Sadly she will be moving schools so their next event with her will most likely be her last. For the time she was in the club, she constantly brought spirits up with positive communication with all members and really improved the club much more than any other member has. Thank
OFFICER of the Month
This month Marissa has excelled in all forms of work needed to support Hilo High School Key Club. She has assisted all of their members in preparing to gain hours over the winter break. She has even assisted in many other officers' work when many got sick. She also does many extra tasks like Canva-Post making, Poster making, etc. Marissa has definitely stood out this month in being an excellent Key Club officer. Thank you so much Marissa!
ADVISOR of the Month
As King Kekaulike’s Kiwanis Advisor, Ms. Cathy shows up for a lot of their club’s service projects. She always attends DCMs and sometimes even comes to King Kekaulike’s club meetings despite her busy schedule. She is very involved and is always willing to help their members in any way possible. Thank you so much Ms. Cathy!
CLUB of the Month
Waiakea Key Club is always consistent in keeping their membership active and busy throughout the term by hosting projects every week and even over the Winter Break!
