Lieutenant Governor Greeting

Hello everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your summer! Just a few reminders for July. Even with school being out, please make sure to still fill out paperwork like MRFs, ERFs and FRFs. These are very important for the district in order to accurately track service and fundraising. Other than that, make sure to take a look at my Weekly Updates as they have updated information for each week.

Enjoy the Newsletter and stay safe!

Yours in Service, Madison Matice

Service Spotlight Hannah Porter Member, Ticonderoga High School Division 14

A mother of a movement. As our school was gradually switching back to full time in-person instruction, our club wanted a project we could do safely and virtually that served a good purpose. We decided to hold a virtual March for Babies fundraiser, benefiting March of Dimes, one of Key Club International’s preferred charities. Every year in the U.S., approximately 380,000 babies are born too soon. Without ACA protection, maternal care would be unaffordable for most families. Vital services for moms and babies, especially babies born sick or too soon, are at risk. March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. They support research, lead programs and provide education and advocacy so that every mom and baby can have the best possible start. Building on a successful 80-year legacy of impact and innovation, they empower every mom and every family. Our Club Advisor encouraged us to share the donation link to friends, families, and community members. This project really impacted me as a Key Club member because I knew by doing something as simple as sending the donation link to family and asking them to donate a few dollars, I was helping mothers and babies everywhere. We wrapped up the fundraiser at the end of the school year and we raised $928 of our $500 goal!! Our hope with this project was to show all of the wonderful work March of Dimes does for our world and families everywhere.

Key Club does not stop in the summer. Continue your key club activities year round.

Projects Key Club Supports governor's Project: The Thirst Project is one of the main international partners that Key Club is involved with and is also the Governor's Project that District Governor, Chloe Baker chose for the 2021-2022 service year. Their mission is to end the global water crisis with the support of young people. To do this, they travel to developing communities in need of clean drinking water, and build freshwater wells. Waterborne diseases kill so many children each year, and the Thirst Project is working to eliminate this.

DisTRICT PROJECT: This years District Project is Alex's Lemonade Stand! This organization aims to end pediatric cancer by spreading awareness and supporting families!
