"Neck pain and arm pain were two things I suffered with for over 30 years. It affected my sleep and work life and bothered me daily. I also couldn’t move my arm in certain motions. I went to other doctors, and the pain would become manageable but never fully went away. That all changed when I met the Experience Family Chiropractic team at a local event. After starting care, the knots and pain in my neck were gone and have yet to come back; my range of motion in my arm has improved as well. I wish I had started chiropractic care sooner! The Experience Family Chiropractic staff is great and the office is beautiful; I definitely recommend chiropractic care to others." - Kathleen

BEER Unless you are from the Czech Republic or nearby, you’ve probably never heard of a Tmave’ Pivo. That’s because it is not well known outside of that area in Europe. That being said, I’m sure most people are familiar with Pilsner, which originated in the Plzeň region of the Czech Republic. Although Germany later copied the Pilsner, it became famous because of the soft water profile in the region and is known as a Bohemian style Pils.
From The Brewer......
The water from the Plzeň region is renown for creating clean, crisp, but malt-forward beers. The Tmave’ Pivo style of beer follows this Bohemian taste profile because of the water that is used. This differs from the German style of pils. The higher concentrations of sulfates found in German water tend to bring out hop character and bitterness more so than the water found in the Plzeň region. Tmave’ Pivo, or sometimes called černé (black), means “dark beer.” While this beer does maintain its Bohemian roots, there are wide variations from town to town. For example, beers in Prague are typically clean and sweeter than other locations. Alternatively, in smaller villages you’ll often find a beer that is roastier with notes of black licorice. While this beer does use roasted grains and is dark, it is actually a very light, quaffable beer at 4% - 5% abv. The beer itself should have a maltiness with qualities of bread crust, toast, nuts, cola, dark fruit, or caramel. Roast malts can impart some coffee or chocolate character, as well. This beer should be complex with the option of a spicy hop character from Saaz-type hops. A brewing method is often employed in Bohemian style beers that is called decoction. During this method, brewers will take a portion of the mash (grain and hot water mixture) and boil it. This is often credited with adding complexity and malt character to the finished beer. This was also instrumental in supporting fermentation prior to modern grain. Tmave’ Pivo, like Pils, is a lager style beer. This means that the yeast Saccharomyces Pastorianus is used. This yeast likes to ferment at cooler temperatures, around 50 degrees Fahrenheit (cellar temperature), and is a bottom fermenting yeast. Lager style

beers are usually “lagered” as well. This is a fermentation technique in which the beer is cool-aged for extended periods of time, usually 1-3 months or longer. This allows the yeast to clean up any off-flavors and leads to a crisp, clear, finished beer. As a style comparison, this beer is similar to a Munich Dunkel or Schwarzbier, but because of brewing practices and water profile, often has a much richer malt profile. The U Fleků brewery, which has been operating in Prague since 1499, brews one of the classic examples of this style. Unfortunately, this style of beer is not widely available in the US. Although, with the craft brew movement in full swing, you may see these unique styles popping up more and more.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
With the month of March right around the corner, it could only mean one thing… . No, not spring break. It’s time for Madisen’s Match! Duane Chaney has once again put together an impressive event in honor of his niece, Madisen. At the age of three, the young girl faced an inoperable brain tumor. As Duane and his family sat by her side, he was overcome as he saw her fear. “This had a profound effect on me,” he says. “I felt I had to do something.” Being an avid tennis player, he decided to put together a tennis tournament in her name. Returning for the event are Mike and Bob Bryan (twin brothers), who are the world’s #1 double team players in the sport of tennis. Other tennis pros scheduled include: Sam Querrey, 2017 Wimbledon Semifinalist; Taylor Fritz, ATP Tour Star; Robby Ginepri, former world #15 ATP Ranking; Mikael Pernfors, former world #10 and French Open Finalist; Don Johnson, former World #1 ranked Doubles; and Tom Gullikson, former US Davis Cup Team Captain. On the Saturday before the event (March 16), be sure to reserve your seat for the Madisen’s Match VIP Gala & Auction, hosted by the Miromar Lakes Beach Clubhouse. All attendees get to mix and mingle with tennis pros, enjoy a great meal, and participate in the live and silent auction. On Monday, March 18th at Miromar Lakes is the Legends Tennis Camp where amateur players get to take the court and play with the Bryan Brothers, and the other world class tennis pros. This is followed by the Golisano Pro Tennis Classic at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena at Florida Southwestern State College. “Last year,” according to Chaney, “we had over 2,000 turn out for the Pro Tennis Classic.” All proceeds from the Gala & Auction, Legends Tennis Camp, and Pro Tennis Classic benefit the adult and pediatric cancer treatment programs of the Lee Health Foundation. Culligan City of Palms Classic Culligan City of Palms Classic shakes up national rankings
COMMUNITI
The ripple effects of an upset-filled 46th annual Culligan City of Palms are still being felt throughout the country. After more than 13,000 people watched the six-day event at Suncoast Credit Union Arena, a top-three attendance figure in tournament history, the national rankings have taken on a much different look. “There’s a reason so many people come from all across the country to watch the Culligan City of Palms Classic: No tournament has nearly as much impact on the national scene,” said John Naylor, the event’s executive director. Tournament organizers have already begun planning to make even more of an impact next time, when the event returns to a Wednesday-through-Monday format. The 47th annual Culligan City of Palms Classic will take place from Dec. 18-Dec. 23, 2019 at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
