EDITOR’S LETTER I have to start this edition with a big ‘YAY’ of gratitude for the wonderful workshops and healing sessions experienced this last month. The 2-day Heal Your Life workshop, hosted by Ashika Singh, has left me with my feet firmly planted on Mother Earth and a song in my heart. The course takes you through your life experiences, addressing habits which no longer serve you, and releasing outdated thought patterns that are holding you back. After 2 days of intense, yet gentle and simple processes, you leave feeling powerfully positive. The workshop is phenomenal. I have also had the pleasure of ‘meeting’ all the Teachers from Heal Your Life SA, who will now be participating monthly, by addressing topics that we all deal with on a daily basis in our lives. We have dedicated a section to reading and book reviews, and another to some workshops that will change your life.

Lastly, I want to remind you that no matter what age you are – YOU are A Child of the Universe. Have fun and see you in Spring. Happy reading

Montessori Method
A Foundation for Life
“Play Is The Work of the Child” Maria Montessori Play activities are essential to healthy development for children and adolescents. Research shows that 75% of brain development occurs after birth. The activities engaged in by children both stimulate and influence the pattern of the connections made between the nerve cells. This process influences the development of fine and gross motor skills, language, socialization, personal awareness, emotional well-being, creativity, problem solving and learning ability. The most important role that play can have is to help children to be active, make choices and practice actions to mastery. They should have experience with a wide variety of content (art, music, language, science, math, social relations) because each is important for the development of a complex and integrated brain. Play that links sensory-motor, cognitive, and social-emotional experiences provides an ideal setting from brain development. According to Montessori, the essential dimensions of play are:
Voluntary, enjoyable, purposeful and spontaneous Creativity expanded using problem solving skills, social skills, language skills and physical skills Helps expand on new ideas Helps the child to adapt socially Helps to thwart emotional problems
If play is the work of the child, toys are the tools. Through toys, children learn about their world, themselves, and others. Toys teach children to:
Figure out how things work Pick up new ideas Build muscle control and strength Use their imagination Solve problems Learn to cooperate with others
Play content should come from the child’s own imagination and experiences. Unfortunately, the play experience for today’s child is often quite different from that of their parents. With the ever expanding influence of electronic media including TV, videos, video games and the internet, children are spending much of their time being passively entertained by or minimally interacting, by way of a keyboard or control pad with an electronic device. Even today’s toys are more often structured by onboard computers that dictate the play experience. This robs children of unstructured play with other kids as well as individual playtime spent in creative play. Parents need to understand the play needs of their child and provide an environment to meet those needs.
Montessori Approach to Creativity In Montessori we view creativity in the broadest sense. The child possesses tremendous creativity, which is directed towards becoming a ‘developed individual, endowed with a sensitive soul, an eye that sees and a hand that obeys’. This is how Dr. Maria Montessori describes the basic qualities of the creative individual. Dr Montessori spoke often of the double task of the adaptive and constructive role of the child in human life. She states, ‘at birth a child does not have the behaviour characteristics of the group into which he is born; he has to create and prepare them. He has to learn their language and the customs and use of their implements. Whilst developing himself he unconsciously develops his own adaptation to his environment. To understand the child's tendencies, with the purpose of education in mind, we must see man in correlation with his surrounding environment and how his adaptation to it is created.’ Dr. Montessori found that the growth of a child's creativity developed spontaneously as the child's intelligence becomes established through his interaction with a prepared environment. The development of creativity depends on the child's progression through the stages of cognitive growth; from sensori-motor intelligence to intuitive thought, to concrete operations and finally to formal operations. Creativity then, is not so much developed by a concentration on its stimulation, so much as it evolves at the end of a long process of cognitive development which had absorption of reality as its beginning point. A natural law governing the development of a child's imagination and creativity are inborn powers in the child that develop as his mental capacities are established through his or her interaction in the environment. The environment must itself be beautiful, harmonious and based in reality in order for the child to organise his or her perceptions of it. When he has developed realistic and ordered perceptions of the life about him, the child is capable of selecting and emphasising processes necessary for creative endeavours. Dr. Montessori emphasised that this selective capability requires three qualities:
a remarkable power of attention and concentration, a considerable autonomy and independence of judgement and an expectant faith that remains open to truth and reality.
In addition to an environment of beauty, order and reality, Montessori realised that the child needs freedom if he is to develop creativity:
freedom to select what attracts him in his environment, to relate to it without interruption, and for as long as he likes, to discover solutions and ideas, to select an answer on his own and to communicate and share his discoveries with others at will.
The child in the Montessori classroom is also free from the judgement by an outside authority that so annihilates the creative impulse. Dr. Maria Montessori viewed creativity within the context of total development – intellectual, artistic, emotional and physical. Her plotting of child development traces the most significant of creative endeavours – the making of the personality, the construction of the child's self. The environment is the source for creative process. We do not mean necessarily the art shelf, scissors and paste, clay, random play, finger-paint or musical instruments. These all play a role in the development. But the Montessori formula is simple – the child's integration is an integration of self, which comes from participation in the real from a very young age. For the young child, imagination, art and music will be evoked by knowledge and experience of how the world really works, and with full application of the mind, the eye and the hand, will come mastery of the environment. Art, like music, is a universal language which can be understood by all. During the early years the child's intellectual activity and physical skills are fused in a creative process which is unique to humanity.

Montessori Supplier is the sole distributor in South Africa, of genuine Montessori educational material produced by Gonzagarredi. All materials are imported directly from Italy, and conform to the highest standards and specifications, as laid out by Maria Montessori.
MONTESSORI MATERIALS Dr. Montessori, in her initial work in 1907 in San Lorenzo, observed that the younger children were intensely attracted to sensory development apparatus. The children used these materials spontaneously, independently, repeatedly and with deep concentration. They emerged from this spontaneous activity renewed and with a profound sense of inner satisfaction.
"Montessori method is based on the spontaneous activity of the child which is aroused precisely by the interest the child takes in the material." From this initial discovery, over many years of observation and trial and error, Dr. Montessori and her son Mario, went on to design an entire range of Montessori materials. In order for the materials to be of optimum benefit they must be presented to the child at the appropriate stage in his or her development by a trained Montessori teacher. The materials then allow the child to engage in self-directed, purposeful activity. The materials are beautiful and enticing and are displayed in an orderly and accessible way.
"All the apparatus must be meticulously in order, beautiful and shiny, in perfect condition. Nothing must be missing, so that to the child it always seems new, complete and ready for use." Montessori At Home! will show you how to put together excellent home learning materials that will hold your children’s attention, and teach them better than any expensively packaged, overpriced plastic toys. Through play, young children need experiences that will help them develop:
Muscle control and co-ordination Strong brain architecture A confident, positive self image Real-world critical thinking, logic, maths, reading and science skills. www.montessoriathomebook.com

BODYPULSE BodyPulse works on the EMS (ELECTRO MUSCULAR STIMULATION) principal. EMS stands for “Electro Muscular Stimulation. EMS uses this natural principle and is able to intensify this process to reach deeper muscle layers, which are hard to activate through conventional training. This is achieved by applying EMS electrodes to the skin directly above the muscle. During EMS training, 90% of muscles are activated simultaneously with EACH contraction and the muscle contractions are stronger and more intense than a voluntary exertion can do alone. Compared to conventional weight training, deeper muscle groups are activated which leads to better intra and inter muscular coordination. A general gym workout, including a warm-up, averages 1-1.5 hours per session. To see and feel results, you need to train at least 2-3 times a week, which adds up to six hours, or more per week. Many people cannot afford to spend this required amount of time getting fit and keeping in shape. At BODYPULSE, you only need 20 minutes per week to get comparable results from 3 x 90 minutes of a general weight workout. In fact, more frequent EMS training per week is not effective according to sports science research results. All in all, you will save time to reach your goals. You will feel a difference straight after your first workout as your body releases endorphins and your posture will automatically improve as your muscles will have been activated by the EMS technology. After a day or two, you might feel some muscle stiffness, which is completely normal. After roughly 3-4 sessions you will not only feel, but also see a visible difference from the training. As with conventional training, EMS training should be done regularly to ensure and maintain optimal results. All BodyPulse sessions are overseen and facilitated by a dedicated instructor offering professional feedback, support and guidance. THE NES SCANNER With the state-of -the -art device your system is scanned within 30 seconds giving you a very detailed analysis of what is happening in your body-mind and where we should be focusing our treatment to get the quickest benefit. The scan show nutritional deficiencies, Sugar Imbalances, Acidity level, which Toxins need to be focused on, emotional patterns and blockages, the blockages in meridians and orientation to Life blockages. Once a scan has been made, treatment happens via 1 to 3 Infoceutical drops that give the corrective information to your bodyfield so the adjustments to its functioning can be made. The drops are taken over a four week period, after which another scan is done. Four initial scans are needed to make changes effective, so committing to four sessions over a period of 4 to 5 months is necessary. Treatment with these drops is very effective in removing belief pattern blockages and physical blockages. Editor’s Note: I went for an NES scan two weeks ago. The results were very detailed, revealing what does and does not benefit my body. I now know which vitamins, minerals and homeopathic remedies to take in order to achieve my ultimate state of health. Thank you Willem, I am already feeling the positive changes in my overall health. I look forward to the next session... and the Inspirational Dance – feedback in the next edition. Have you ever experienced a moment of disappointment in your life? Have you ever set out to achieve a positive outcome with someone or something and after much effort, it just didn’t work. You felt like you were just not going anywhere! You see, it was one of the darkest, coldest most uncomfortable 60minutes of her life. If you were with Miss ‘super woman’ at that early hour of 1am, a cold winters night in May 2003, with her children safely tucked in and warm in their dreams, you would have seen her sitting on the floor at the corner of her very lonely bedroom. The light was dim, the air icy cold, with a teasing warmth from a tiny heater in the direct opposite corner, she sat there like a little child being punished for being bad. Although she resembles a child-like appearance, she is 29years old, and feels alone in this world! She asks “how many more times must I die here in this world, and still be alive for everyone else. Why have I been a slave to pain all my life?” The dead silence of this night was no stranger to her; it had been already 8 months that she had not slept for more than 2 hours at night. Her eyes, she would not let a soul take a peek into them, so she hid behind her beautiful long hair and that smile that lit up so many people around her. Walking around with her head held high, her voice always in gentle and soft. What a fake she is! Wearing one face by day….. another face at home and the mask falls off when she is here, like this, on her own. If you were standing right next to her, you would ask her to stand up, remind her of how strong, inspiring and powerful she is, how at age 5 all the way to 15 she was already taking back her power from molestation. Followed by teenage pregnancy, you will remind her how she honoured her family and allowed them to marry her off to a lost soul, because even at age 15, abortion was worse than abuse. For 3 years, this drug addicted young man, a kid himself, played the game of hunter and hunted with her. She endured beating after beating; bruised, swollen, silently taking every blow because her integrity was greater than her fear of being killed, her body became weaker and weaker, her Spirit stronger and stronger. She had her son to live for. Even after all the pain of this experience, she still just saw this young man as lost, broken and she believed that maybe she could fix him. After all, he too was just an innocent child, a victim of neglect, poverty and abuse himself! After 3 years, when time came for her to set herself free from that never-changing prison, she walked into a fresh start and rebuilt her life for the next decade! Even if you told her that just 6 months ago her mother had ascended from this world and it was she who held the family together, even if you told her just a week ago she stood up to her husband and said ‘I am not willing to spend my life being your trophy and our provider”…. Even if you exclaimed with great belief and passion, “you have made it this far…. You can make it through anything,…” none of your words would have been enough to stop her from saying…. “God, why can’t you just eject me from this life NOW!” Having this conversation with God over and over in her head, even now she feels more abandoned, “why won’t you answer back?? Why are you insisting that I endure? Do you not see me? Am I so insignificant that you would overlook my shattered soul?? Have you no Mercy!
And with you standing there, you would have seen her get onto her knees and break down in total desperation, she had hit rock bottom. For the first time in her life she cried from the pit of her being, and even if you tried to comfort her, she would not hear you, she was not there, she didn’t want to be there, all she wanted was answers, better still to be dead, this numbness was growing! Then suddenly almost like someone turned up the heat, the room started to get warmer & brighter, was this an illusion? And as you stood there, you would have become overwhelmed with what happened next. Almost as if a spotlight fell onto her bookshelf, and there was a second hand book right up front. “The Power is Within You”>>>> and the face of a woman on the cover, she looked just like her mother, something came over her, like someone had just boosted her to her feet, she rushes to the bookshelf, takes the book into her right hand, wiping away at her wet face onto her sleeves, she felt humiliated and she blurted out angrily, “WHAT POWER?? WHAT POWER WITHIN?”…. She felt this rage build up, I am tired of these games, I am tired of feeling tired, and I am tired of waking up after every fall. She throws the book across the room!!! Oh goodness, what have I done??? And as you stood there, you would have witnessed her immense guilt for expressing rage and probably damaging a BOOK! She runs and picks up this book, held it close to her heart and said “I AM SORRY”>>> over and over and over again until she felt her heart calm down. The anxiety started to fade and in that moment, she sat on that very spot on the floor, now closer to the heater, and read that book cover to cover, until sun rose. The message in that book was loud and clear, I DO HAVE THE POWER WITHIN, and with the rising of the sun that morning as you witnessed ‘Miss Super Woman” start her day, you would have seen her put on her usual masks, the perfect mum, the most dedicated and in control employee, and make it through her day as if all is well and normal. Later that night if you had visited with her again, you would have seen her looking into a mirror saying to herself, even though she did not believe a word she was saying to herself, “I am supported and I am willing to stand in my power”. You would have seen that night when her mask fell off, she was STANDING, and was ready for the next chapter of her life. Something had switched on within her…. She imagined Louise Hay to be her guardian over the next few months as she slowly took her message in. She started examining and changing her beliefs, releasing, accepting, learning to love herself, and slowly a new dream started to unfold. Within a short while you would have visited her again, it would have been when she invited you to her very first seminar in March 2008, while holding the prestigious role of a Life Coach and selected by Louise Hay as an exclusive ‘change ambassador’ in SA for her amazing work. Miss Super-Woman was now positively influencing the lives of millions. Tony Robbins says, “In life you need either inspiration or desperation”. In a single moment desperation cracked open the possibility in INspiration. Her life still has the same story, she has just re-written the script, and it all began with losing all the power on the OUTSIDE to unleash all the power INSIDE. The trial What went wrong now? What was so right turns out to be so wrong? That angel I thought I was, is no longer an angel? Why the scolding now? What I hear now are the words that I’m not used to. Why all these instructions? Now you can only be loved when you do what you are told? Punishment is the name of the game? I try to do things right but I still get punished. The question is in my mind… “Am I not good enough? Do I deserve all these hurtful words? Do I deserve all this pain people are causing me?” Now the relationships are also full of pain. My self-esteem is going down. The gods who raised me are not as perfect as I thought. This is not how I expected life to be like? What’s happening? What’s going wrong?
Survival Now fear is the name of the game. Now I depend on someone or something to keep me happy. What happened to the passion that was within me? Why can’t I be happy just to be me? Why all these boundaries now? All I can hear within me is nothing but fear. All I can hear within me is nothing but anger. All I can hear is nothing but revenge. Now I cannot play the games that I used to play. Why all these chains? Where do they come from? All these messages? Where do they come from? I am not good enough. My sex does not allow me to do this? My sex does not allow me to cry? I can no longer play because my age does not allow me to? I cannot study because my age does not allow me to? I am too short? I am too tall? I am not beautiful enough? Why do I seek this approval outside myself? Now why am I angry with myself? Why am I scolding myself now? Whatever they did to me, I am doing it to myself. Where does this enemy from within come from? All I know is that I’m doing the best I can to survive. I am a survivor and I’m surviving at all cost.
Return to Innocence But who am I? Why did I come to this universe? Aha! I remember. I am the child of the universe. I have the right to be happy. I have the right to be free. I have a right to smile. I have a right to rejoice. I am born out of Love. God is love. I am love. The higher power that created me is true love. My innocence does not know how to hate or punish. I can play. I can read. Wow! I can sing. I can dance. The universe welcomes me with open arms. I can feel the warm embrace of the arms of the universe. I am so full of energy. I breathe in all the unconditional love from the universe. I am the child of the universe. I forgive myself. I forgive others even though as a child I do think about revenge. Wow! The energy within me is out of this world. I can jump. I can shout. I can scream. I’m so excited. I just can’t hide it. Yes. I am the child of the universe. Now I can hear myself. Now I can listen to myself. My innocence is back. I can hear all the praise from within me.This is ME. ‘I AM’ good enough for me. I am so happy to be me. Everyday is getting brighter and brighter. Let me say this - I have returned to be the best me that I can be. Yay! I’m born again, and it feels good, and the universe feels good about my birth.
I AM THE CHILD OF THE UNIVERSE.
Empowering our Teens By Karen Scott
Teenagers naturally experience the highs and lows of growing up. Most common are peer pressure, friendships, exams, sibling rivalry and body image. Teen Empowerment workshops focus on Body, Mind and Emotions teaching teens that they have the power to control their thoughts and words through positive affirmations and that awareness gives them the unique opportunity to discover who they are. Learning to love themselves is key to having a fulfilling and happy life with themselves and others. It’s also so important to know that love is not just about loving someone, it’s about loving our beautiful planet, being in awe of the beauty that surrounds us, loving every experience and embracing the lessons. Gratitude teaches them to appreciate what they have now and that they are ultimately the masters of their own ships.
Master Your Ship
“Master what Master?” you candidly say, Do you honestly believe you were made this way? Our destiny you see is in our own hand, It takes courage and power to make a stand. So let go of those egos of anger and pain, Go back to the joy of childhood again. Look up and see such beauty around, Love, joy and peace in our hearts abound. In life we have but one game to play, In the end, you are the one who has the final say. So master your ship and set sail for life, Empower your soul and avoid all the strife.
Self-esteem – Is it possible to learn to love ourselves? By Varushka Bermal - Heal Your Life® Workshop and Study Group Facilitator
To understand the concept of ‘self-esteem, let’s take a deeper look at the word ‘esteem’. Synonyms of esteem include: High regard, respect, admiration, good opinion, appreciate. Notice how you feel when you relate each of these characteristics to yourself. Do you hold yourself in high regard? Do you respect yourself? Do you admire yourself? Do you have a good opinion of yourself? Do you appreciate yourself? Do you feel these qualities could lead you to become vain if you believed them about yourself? If you do, why do you believe this? Where did this belief come from? We are born loving ourselves fully and unconditionally. You can see that a little baby loves him or herself. They love all parts of themselves and are not afraid to express themselves. Everyone knows when a baby is happy, their laughter lightens your heart and when they are angry, you know it. So what happened from when you were a little baby to the person you became today? How did your unlimited love for yourself change? It was due to the experiences you had and what you were taught in life. If you grew up surrounded by parents, family, friends and teachers who told you consistently ‘you are wonderful’, ‘you are so clever’, ‘you can do anything that you dream of’, ‘you are loved’ etc, you will grow up continuing to love yourself and likely love yourself even more. However, if you grew up on the other side of the spectrum where you were told ‘you are stupid’, ‘you will never amount to anything’, ‘you are in the way’ etc, or worse, surrounded by silence, you will grow up probably hating yourself. Maybe your childhood, like many, was something in between these extremes. What this illustrates is that your sense of self worth or self-esteem is largely determined by your external influences, which ultimately developed your belief about yourself and your potential in life. Having low self-esteem has wide reaching effects. It affects every part of your life and limits you in many ways. Every decision is driven by a fear of not being good enough, although you may not consciously be aware of this. Every failed relationship, lack of success in your career, mishaps in your daily life, is life reflecting back to you the ingrained belief that you are not good enough. You may sink further into a depressive state thinking, “my life sucks, so why should I even bother trying to do better?” Alternatively, you may pick yourself up from each disappointment; continue with a smile on your face hoping for a better day, only to find yourself in the same situation time and again.
If you feel you have low self-esteem, this is not the fate you are destined with. You CAN change it; you CAN love the person that you are.......You Are Lovable because you EXIST!!! I was Miss Pessimist to those closest to me but had a positive, cheerful demeanour to everyone else. My initial response to any suggestion was always NO! This frustrated my husband to no end (boyfriend at the time)! Yet, I was also a people pleaser of note. I would bend over backwards to help anyone, if I felt there was a slightest chance they would feel immensely grateful to me and it would bond us in friendship eternally. I was usually left feeling used and unappreciated, wondering why my tremendous efforts went unnoticed. It was only later in my life I learned I had an underlying belief that ‘I am not good enough’ and this was being reflected back to me in the experiences and relationships that I had. I obtained this profound understanding through my experience on the Louise L. Hay, You Can Heal Your Life Workshop, and on my journey with Heal Your Life since then. I would not say that my life was miserable when I embarked on this journey. On the contrary, I had a loving husband and wonderful marriage, I was a highly qualified individual with a corporate career, I was surrounded by wonderful friends and family and I had a pretty good upbringing. On the face of it, my life was perfect. So why was I feeling so unfulfilled in so many ways, why was I not quite meeting the performance expectation of my job, why did I get upset at the slightest turn of events or at the tone with which my husband spoke to me? So what, you ask, has helped me boost my self-esteem? Identifying my major limiting beliefs, understanding where they came from, releasing these and choosing new beliefs which supported me in a positive way, helped significantly to heal this aspect of myself. Learning to look myself in the mirror and say “I love you and approve of you exactly the way you are!” helped me learn to love myself. Using the tools of positive affirmations, visualisations, gratitude and meditation helped me lift myself out of the pity hole I had created. And yes, it is a process, we are constantly healing, growing and learning. There are days when I still feel I am not good enough, but using these tools, I am able to identify the pattern, learn from the experience and move forward toward a brighter future. This journey has led me to discover my passion to guide people to live a life that is true to their being. I became licensed as a facilitator of the Louise L. Hay, You Can Heal Your Life workshops and study groups. I am currently training to become a licensed Heal Your Life Coach. My newfound confidence contributed to me promoting these concepts and tools in my corporate environment, writing an article “Corporate Healing – Think outside the box, trust your gut and manifest success” and to share my story with you in this article. In the space that I am in now, I know that I have a significant purpose to serve on this planet and I allow myself to be guided daily in fulfilling that purpose. This is the power we have within ourselves, to heal our own lives and live the life we truly want.
As Louise says, “The point of power is always in the present moment.”
A Journey to Self-Love By Leila Summers Imagine for a moment that you are a magnificent, gorgeous human being, worthy of being appreciated, cherished and loved unconditionally. Imagine waking in the morning and greeting yourself with the words, “Good morning Beautiful! I am so excited to spend this day with you!” Then you go about your day with a skip in your step and a smile on your face because you are in love. Yes, you are in love with yourself. Young children do this naturally until they repeatedly receive subtle negative messages that they are either, not good enough, or do not deserve to be happy and loved. Along the way, we subconsciously accept these negative ideas about ourselves and move from loving ourselves wholeheartedly, to criticizing and judging ourselves on a regular basis. Do you remember when you first fell in love — that feeling of exhilaration and the idea that nothing was impossible? The recipient of your love could do no wrong. You adored, respected and wanted the best for them. You believed in them and saw few faults, forgiving quickly and easily. This is similar to the love we have for our babies. Yet, it is not often that we afford ourselves this same treatment. Falling in love with ourselves is a process. Start by forgiving yourself and stopping all self-criticism. Choose to think new thoughts about yourself. Give yourself compliments such as, “You are amazing” and “I am so proud of you”. It might feel odd talking to yourself in the beginning, but if you think about it that is what we do all the time. Our inner critic sprouts negative statements day in day out. If you were to talk to your partner the same way that you talk to yourself in your head, the relationship would probably not last long. Being with someone who is constantly negative or whom you hate is grueling. And yet, this is how many of us live with ourselves. Self-hatred is just thoughts that we have about ourselves and thoughts can be changed. Affirmations are a wonderful tool for change. Give yourself a hug and say out loud, "I deserve all good. I am worthy of my own love. I love and accept myself exactly as I am right now." Take time to care for yourself, be kind, praise yourself, sing love songs to yourself, laugh, and treat yourself as if you are someone who is deeply loved. We have all glimpsed little children standing in front of a mirror, looking into their own eyes, talking to themselves, or pulling funny faces. As we get older, we shy away from mirrors and avoid looking into our own eyes. Mirror work is another powerful tool. Stand in front of a mirror, look deeply into your eyes and say, “I love you (your name), I really love you.” You will find this becomes easier with practice. When I began mirror work, I felt awkward at first, then I felt a deep sadness (that I had neglected myself for all these years), and in time I began to feel tremendous love and compassion for myself. These tools can be used by anyone of any age. It is never too early or too late to start falling in love with YOU. After all, you are with yourself for life! By loving ourselves, we offer a shining example to our children encouraging them to do the same. No negative condition can remain in our lives when we truly love and accept ourselves. Love is the healing power. Love is never outside of you; it is always within. FEMININE POWER By Fatima Bibi Seedat
Feminine Power is rising. This is something BIG for us as women. We are on the threshold of an evolutionary shift with the potential to change our lives. Millions of us around the world are responding to the calling to reclaim our Feminine Power, and to awaken our Authentic Power. Women are co-creating the future of our lives and shaping the future of our world. We possess the power of the Feminine. This type of Divine Radiance permeates and radiates from women to women who are anchored within their body. Their energy says a lot without even speaking. These women have no need to seek out approval or attention from others or even from the opposite sex. Outside forces have no influence over their Power. They nourish and serve themselves. They have lifted the veils of delusional Feminine ideology, and integrated the essence of Authentic Femininity. They have not achieved this Victory just like that. They struggled, cried, despaired, and rose from the ashes. Femininity today, is hugely misunderstood, often times by women themselves. I have experienced women behave in such ugly ways, when it came to Men, Money, Beauty and Popularity. It is as if women believe the crumbs tossed her way could satisfy her immense nature, these women have selflimiting beliefs. One with a low self-value will show her true nature around men. It is disturbing but eventually one would understand that her behaviour is a cheap imitation of what she learns from others.
Lack of Personal Power is a learned behaviour. Some of us learn from our mothers, grandmothers, or other female relatives, who populate our family tree. As children, we have absorbed these messages of Self Limitations to settle for less in the ideas of money, career and relationships. We are encouraged to stay just like them. However, generations later we are destined to break free of these limiting beliefs and rise to begin our journey of Self Realization. It is an epic task but one worth undertaking. Feminine Power is not just the ability to bear children, and believe that you can only fulfil your biological destiny and nothing more. We are taught from a very young age to grow up and be the Perfect Women. Some of us are taught to study and achieve our goals, but we are also reminded that at the end of the day a women’s place is in the kitchen behind pots and pans. Sex is not the only weapon we have to ensure we get what we want. Some of us are taught that who we marry , the rock on our fingers, the car she drives, where she shops and where she does her hair, determines our self- worth. The Modern women face so many distractions to keep her from owning her power. We are expected to hide our intelligence, our Power, and strengths in order to be the Good women to the men in our lives. Being influenced by these selflimiting beliefs limits us of our individuality and our Authenticity. We have endless possibilities and our potentials are matured. Let us respond to the Universe. Yes we are FREE. We have the opportunity to create life on our terms.

How To Make One Hell Of A Profit & Still Get By John Demartini paperback ISBN 9781401901981 Millions of people worldwide dream of making a “good” living, of attaining great wealth, and having an extraordinary and fortunate life. However, they haven’t yet found a way of attaining it, and they fear that they can only do so at the expense of others—perhaps by compromising their higher spiritual values and virtuous nature. Some people who outwardly acknowledge their desire for great wealth feel inwardly guilty about acquiring it, and their illusive conflict blocks or dissipates their potential fortunes. Other people say they just want to be comfortable and secure rather than vastly fortunate. These individuals also hold themselves back from breaking through to new levels of financial freedom, and actually living their most cherished and inspiring dreams. In addition to their conflicting spiritual and material natures, some people have an additional internal struggle between their desires to give and receive. Dr. John F. Demartini wrote How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven to help you (if you happen to be like most people) dissolve these
apparent conflicts. This book can assist you in making your financial dreams come true while shedding light on an entirely new way of looking at, understanding, and appreciating the true nature of Earthly profits and heavenly wealth. Guru Of Golf, The By Thomas Moore hardcover ISBN 9781401925659 While to some chasing a small white ball across a vast field of grass may seem pointless, the game of golf has, for centuries, drawn everyone from the poor working class to the upper crust of society. There is something enchanting about the experience of golf that sets it apart from other sports. In this collection of 18 short stories, The Guru of Golf celebrates perhaps one of the most widely popular of athletic pursuits. Thomas Moore shows us how golf can be a perfect metaphor for life itself—endlessly mysterious, joyful, and captivating, yet at times unbearable. From the tee to the green, he intertwines modern and classical tales that illustrate the challenges players face—on and off the course. A game rife with strict rules on etiquette and both physically and mentally taxing, golf tests the body, mind, and spirit. Humorous and insightful, The Guru of Golf captures the range of emotions associated with its players’ ardent determination; searches for meaning behind quiet, solitary moments; and reveals the struggles that try our patience, as well as the victories that make the game—and life—worthwhile.

ITUMELENG There is a dolphin in the ocean named Itumeleng. Itumeleng is a Tswana word meaning joy. Itumeleng is indeed joyful. You can see it by the way she glides through the water, bounces on the waves and somersaults in the air. Many humans have had the pleasure of seeing Itumeleng perform as she loves contact with people. She is known to seek out swimmers at local beaches along the South African coastline. She will head as close to the shoreline as possible, waving her fins as if inviting bathers to join her in her cool home. Many holiday makers have swum with her and even touched her. Perhaps you have had the pleasure of seeing Itumeleng up close. One day, not so long ago, Itumeleng was bobbing in the sea water, gently rolling her body over the ripples. She enjoyed the dizzy feeling from spinning around and around and around. After a few minutes she stopped, giggling with giddiness. That was when she noticed something peculiar. Up ahead a pink something floated. She had never seen this creature before so she moved forward for a better look. On closer inspection Itumeleng realised the pink thing wasn't a creature at all. In fact, it looked like something she had seen on the beaches, something the humans ate. Itumeleng was tempted to take a bite but then she remembered her mother's words: "Only eat what you know is good for you". The playful dolphin swam around the pink thing for several minutes. It looked so yummy and it smelt good too. If people eat it then it must be okay, she thought. Having convinced herself Itumeleng took a bite. She liked the first taste but after that, it all changed. The taste became harsh and it felt awful – the pink thing couldn't be chewed at all. Itumeleng was just about to spit it out when she saw her mother swimming towards her at great speed. There was only one thing to do ... she swallowed it. Trying her best to act normal Itumeleng followed her mother home. By evening Itumeleng had a terrible stomach ache. Not wanting to talk to anyone, she slipped into an underwater cave and rested there all night. She could not sleep properly as her tummy kept moving with pain. Itumeleng was very worried. Her mom was also worried when Itumeleng did not arrive for the breakfast swim the next morning. Itumeleng never missed this early morning excitement. Her mom knew immediately something must be seriously wrong and so she went to seek out her daughter. "Tell me what the matter is," she said on finding Itumeleng holding her sides in agony. "Nothing," muttered Itumeleng. "You know, the sooner you tell me the sooner I can help you fix the problem." Slowly, Itumeleng told her mom the truth between sobs of sorrow and pain. "I'm sorry I didn't listen to you," she cried. "I think you've learnt your lesson," said her mother, "so there's no need for me to punish you." "Can you fix me mommy?" "I have no idea what you ate so the best thing is to get the pink thing out of you." Try as she might, Itumeleng could not force the pink thing up and out of her body. She felt miserable and scared. Itumeleng cried and cried.
Luckily, Itumeleng's wise grandmother had a plan. She knew that when her grand daughter laughed it was with such gusto that often the water inside her stomach would fly out of her mouth. So she called for all the sea creatures far and wide to come and make Itumeleng laugh. The whales came with the strangest of noises but Itumeleng did not even smile. The sea turtles pulled the funniest faces but she did not laugh. When the seaweed tickled the young dolphin's sides Itumeleng's mom was sure her daughter would giggle but she did not. She did not even find the seahorses’ comical tales funny yet all the other sea creatures bubbled over with laughter. Itumeleng's mom was in despair but grandmother had one last sea creature that she was sure would do the trick. Suddenly, as if by magic, the clown fish appeared, bright and cheerful. He began to wiggle and jiggle, faster and faster. He slipped and slid over rocks, bumping here and there and everywhere. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed that Itumeleng was smiling, ever so slightly. He grabbed hold of a piece of black seaweed, gobbled it up and then spat out a rainbow of pearls. The sea crowd cheered. The clown fish swam down to the bottom of the seabed with great speed. Along the way he pretended to hit his head on the tail of Itumeleng and then rolled over and played dead. With his mouth wide-open bubbles slowly popped out one by one. Itumeleng couldn't help but laugh out loud. How she laughed. She laughed and laughed until her insides shook. Without even realising it, she laughed so hard that the pink thing rushed out of her mouth in a torrent and landed on her mom's nose. "This is an ice cream wrapping!" exclaimed Itumeleng's mom, reading the writing on the pink foil. The other sea parents gasped in horror: "Litter!" "That would never happen in our day," said the grandmother. "Humans of today just aren't what they used to be," added the old turtle. "You're lucky to be alive," squeaked the seahorse. "I do feel lucky," said Itumeleng, "and I feel so much better. Thank you dear sea friends for helping me." "Now, this piece of rubbish needs to get out of the ocean before it harms another creature," said grandmother. "I will take it away," offered Itumeleng and with that she grabbed the pink thing and sped off. Many of the younger sea folk followed her all the way to the seashore to see what she was going to do. Waving her fin in her usual manner Itumeleng beckoned two sun bathers out to sea. Excitedly the man and woman swam towards Itumeleng unable to believe their luck. As they drew closer to the beautiful dolphin they noticed she had something in her mouth. Itumeleng floated gently to the woman and slowly dropped the pink wrapper in front of her. Then, with a flick of her tail, she was zooming through the water back home. The man and the woman were speechless. A few days later a story was printed in the newspaper about the friendly dolphin who had delivered litter into the hands of humans. It ended by saying, "The dolphin's message is loud and clear: Don't litter!"

HOMEOPATHY simple healing explained by Antonella I must first state here that Homeopathy is an incredibly effective and safe way to treat imbalances in a living being. A lot of people think it doesn’t really work, is just quackery, a placebo or something that you can take when you are not feeling well, but you can always take drugs as a back-up. The efficiency of correctly dosed homeopathic remedies has to be experienced to be believed – it is so wonderful! When the correct dosing is followed, the effects are sometimes so quick and effective that one is left in wonder that more people don’t follow this healing and balancing modality. My children of 28, 25 and 12 years old have never had a drug in their lives stronger than a mild painkiller! Through all their childhood illnesses, and under the care of a dedicated Homeopath and with the help of the Pegasus Bluebox Kit, they have survived some potentially fatal diseases and illnesses. I am a cancer survivor, having been given barely six months to live in 1993, I chose to completely reject chemo or any allopathic treatment, went on a completely dedicated lifestyle change and homeopathic remedies, and am healthy and fit 20 years later! Five months ago, I fell down some stairs and broke two ribs, fractured one and deflated my lungs. I could hardly breathe and was in intense pain. After going to the hospital three days later at my sister’s insistence, I was told that I have to have an op to inflate my lung. I chose to stay home and manage my own healing. After nursing myself with homeopathic remedies, yoga breathing and stretching exercises (an allopathic painkiller for only ten days,) and sitting in bed for five weeks with hardly any movement, I am now stronger than I have been in a long time.
With regard to Homeopathy being a placebo – that is impossible, as babies and animals respond extremely well and do not even know that they are being medicated. You cannot overdose on homeopathic remedies, there are no side effects, and they will not react with allopathic drugs, so they can be taken simultaneously. Homeopathy is a message to the body to prioritize a specific healing that you require. I always give the analogy of your partner putting a little note into your purse to say "Buy Milk". Whether the note is a tiny little purse-size one or a huge big poster, so long as you can read it, you will buy it when you go to the shops. However, if you find the note when you are at the shops and remember that there were two bottles of milk at the back of the fridge, you will not buy the milk, knowing that your partner obviously did not see them. Likewise, if there are many notes to buy milk in your purse you will just dispose of the excess ones, but still get the same message and that is how homeopathy works. You are an intelligent being and each cell in your body has its own intelligence. Sometimes the body is just so busy with zillions of actions and interactions, that the balancing you want prioritized needs to be stressed a few times before the body will get the "message" and deal with it. One takes the remedy as soon as the symptoms present themselves for quickest healing. When the symptoms are no longer showing, you stop dosing. Do not finish the "course" or bottle, as with allopathic medicine. It is as simple as that – give the body the correct message in a way that it can “read” it, remind it a few times until it responds, and then stop.
Perfect, wonderful wholeness.

Clinically proven natural medicine boosts memory and concentration in children and adults With Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) being diagnosed with increasing frequency, many parents are anxious to find a treatment modality that is not only effective, but also natural, safe, non-toxic and with minimal side effects. A natural medicine, which has shown very promising results in this area, is the Indian herb Bacopa monnieri used in Ayurvedic medicine since 1,500 BC as a memory-enhancing agent. Research conducted by the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) in India over three decades has led to the careful selection of plant material and a well-defined manufacturing process resulting in the patented extract CDRI 08, available in South Africa as KeenMind. Eight of the 10 research studies on CDRI 08 have been conducted with adult participants. However, two studies conducted with children established that clinically, CDRI 08 was efficacious in: enhancing memory and improving learning in children (Sharma et al 1987)i; and improving sentence repetition logical memory, word recall (both meaningful and non-meaningful), digit span, delayed response learning, paired associated learning and total memory in children suffering from ADHD.ii (Negi et al 2000). With the two Indian trials having shown CDRI-08 to be safe and effective in treating ADHD, a larger randomised Inattention and Hyperactivity Trial has been planned to run at The Brain Sciences Institute (BSI) at Swinburne University in Australia and Varanasi University in India. Australian researcher, Professor Con Stough and his team have already conducted two ‘gold standard’ trials on Bacopa Monnieri (KeenMind) with adult participants at the BSI.iii,iv Results from both trials confirmed that KeenMind also promotes memory, recall, concentration and mental clarity in adults. A significant plus for KeenMind is that it is “safe, well tolerated and devoid of any undesirable side-effects,” says Stough. PROFESSOR CON STOUGH i

TOTAL HEALTH
Instant Mood-Boosting Foods True happiness is just a forkful of healthy brain food away. By Leah Zerbe
Mussels Mussels are loaded with some of the highest naturally occurring levels of brain-protecting vitamin B12 on the planet. That makes the mollusk an important food source. Maintaining a healthy level preserves the myelin sheath that insulates your brain cells, helping your brain stay sharp as you grow older. Mussels also contain trace nutrients that are important to balancing your mood, including zinc, iodine, and selenium, things vital to keeping your thyroid, your body's master mood regulator, on track.
Swiss Chard This leafy green is packed with magnesium, a nutrient essential for the biochemical reactions in the brain that boost your energy levels. According to Dr. Ramsey, some of the first studies on magnesium involved its effect on depression. That could come in handy today, since the majority of Americans simply don't get enough magnesium in their diet. Green-thumb tip: Swiss chard is easy to grow in a home garden. If you plant it, harvest just a few outer leaves—not everything all at once—and the plant will continue producing all season long.
Dark Chocolate Ever wonder why chocolate makes you feel so good? Sure, it tastes good, but it also provides an instant boost in concentration and mood and even improves blood flow to the brain, helping you feel more vibrant and energized. Skip the sugary milk chocolate blends and go directly for the darkest organic (highest percentage cocoa) chocolate you can.
Greek Yogurt This dairy pick is packed with more calcium than you'll find in milk or regular yogurt, and it can make you happy, too. Proper calcium levels give the "Go" command, alerting your body to release feelgood neurotransmitters. Plus, the probiotics help aid in digestion and can even ward off colds. If you find yourself nervous or agitated for an unexplained reason, try reaching for an organic Greek yogurt from cows raised on grass pastures. Pastured dairy is higher in healthy fats, and, like grass-fed lamb, often contain higher levels of CLA, the healthy fat that reduces the effects of stress on the brain. Read More: How to Make Your Own Homemade Yogurt.
Asparagus This vegetable is one of the top plantbased sources of tryptophan, which serves as a basis for the creation of serotonin, one of the brain's primary mood-regulating neurotransmitters. High levels of folate also add to asparagus's happiness-promoting profile; research has shown that up to 50 percent of people with depression suffer from low folate levels. Like tryptophan, it's a necessary factor for creating neurotransmitters. It's also good to add to the menu if you plan on drinking. The enzymes in asparagus are highly effective in breaking down alcohol in your system, preventing a hangover—and that can make anyone happy.
Honey Eating sugar unleashes harmful free radicals linked to disease— even cancer—inside of your body. Honey—although sweet like sugar—is packed with beneficial compounds such as quercetin and kaempferol that actually help clean up the free radicals and reduce inflammation. "Honey helps reduce inflammation, which is very important to maintaining a healthy brain," Dr. Ramsey explains. "Some depression actually stems from chronic, low-grade inflammation."
Cherry Tomatoes All tomatoes are a great source of lycopene, a fat-soluble phytonutrient that helps protect vital brain fat, and a nutrient that actually stops the buildup of pro-inflammatory compounds linked to depression. Because lycopene lives in tomato skins, the best way to get it is through cherry tomatoes, whose smaller surface area means you'll eat more skin than if you eat a full-size tomato. To maximize the amount of lycopene your body absorbs, drizzle some olive oil over the tomatoes, and enjoy! Just be sure to always choose organic tomatoes as they have higher lycopene levels.
Pastured Eggs Eggs are the perfect food. They're loaded with moodpromoting omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, B vitamins, and iodide, and they'll keep you full and energized. The best egg for your brain is the kind your greatgrandmother probably enjoyed: hens raised on pasture, where they can exercise and eat a diet of grass and bugs, supplemented with organic grains. Look for pastured eggs from local farmers you trust, and rely less on grocery store eggs advertised as "omega-3 enriched" or "free-range," both claims that aren't regulated.

‘BE A FRIEND’ TO THE IBA-UMNGANI FOUNDATION Founded in 1999, Iba-Umngani Foundation (previously the BE A FRIEND FOUNDATION) supports children that are victims of rape, abuse, neglect and abandonment. They work in conjunction with the FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences) units of the SA Police, by providing them with comfort and rape kits for victims of abuse. All the children that are helped by Iba-Umngani in this way are placed into ‘Safe Houses’ and their identities are protected. COMFORT KITS FOR ABUSED AND/OR ABANDONED CHILDREN A ‘comfort kit’ was designed for children who need to be removed from their homes/environment and placed in a safe house. These children need to be removed for several reasons, including danger to the child due to physical and/or sexual abuse by a household member. These kits are also for abandoned children. Often these children are removed with only the clothes they are wearing. Over and above the abuse they have experienced, being placed in a strange environment is also extremely traumatic for them. Although the children are innocent victims, they feel ‘punished’ by the system by being removed, which then causes secondary trauma. The kit includes a soft cuddly toy, face cloth, towel, soap, shampoo, body lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/hairbrush, sweets, biscuits, juice, etc. For babies; nappies, baby grow, bottles, milk formula and basic toiletries as well. The items are packed in a nice shoulder bag. Each kit costs approximately R500. The kit helps to restore some human dignity to these traumatized children by giving them something of their own to take with them. Giving them the basic necessities helps them feel more secure while they settle into their new home. These kits are given to the children at the time they are removed. This makes the placement of a child in a new environment less traumatic, which also helps to facilitate their recovery during therapy later on. A total of more than 7000 kits have been donated to date. SURVIVOR KITS FOR RAPE VICTIMS We have been requested by the FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit) of the SA Police Service, to put together a kit for women and young girls who have lived through the trauma of being raped. This kit will be used by the women after they have seen the district surgeon to wash and clean themselves. The Kit enables them to feel comforted and thought of after this terrible ordeal. The kits includes the following (packed in a bag); chocolates, juice, towel, face cloth, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb/brush, sanitary pads, deodorant, panty, etc. A pamphlet with details of counseling, AVR’s etc. is included. The estimated cost per kit is R500. Iba-Umngani Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization and relies on donations and company sponsorships. The 10th Step and Beyond: Mother Support for Breastfeeding explores how different programs have th supported the 10 step of the Ten Steps for Successful Breastfeeding. It has also brought together authors from different continents to put together a diversity of expertise in specific ways that provides ideas and food for thought on implementing mother support in different settings. The book shows that mother support is not just about providing mother- to-mother breastfeeding support, it is also about all of us working together to support the breastfeeding mother and make breastfeeding the normal way to feed a baby. This book will give you ideas about tried-and-true methods of support than can be adapted in your community to better support breastfeeding moms and help you plan for pitfalls that can cause your program to fail. “The authors Virginia Thorley and Melissa Clark Vickers have brought together a truly remarkable mix of 26 people, a team that reflects both the global character of issue, as well as its multidimensional nature. Professor Anwar Fazal, Chairperson Emiritus, WABA.
