4 FREE WAYS TO UP YOUR GOLF GAME Use things from your bag to improve your Swing, Strike, Chiping, and Putting. As spring brings in milder temperatures that means golfing season is in full swing. I thought it would be an excellent time to go over four practical drills to help improve your quality of practice so you can start the season playing well. It is too easy to go to the range and practice without any purpose, aimlessly hitting balls with no thought into how we might get better at this notoriously difficult game. I hope the drills below give you the building blocks for improvement.
1- HOW TO CREATE A GREAT STRIKE WITH YOUR IRON When you’re striking your iron, a descending attack angle is preferable. An attack angle is defined simply as the up or down angle of the clubhead at the point of contact. A great drill to create a descending attack angle is placing a golf towel four inches behind the golf ball and making a swing. If you hit the golf ball without hitting the towel you know you have created the right attack angle and you should be striking the ball solidly. Don’t forget that your ball position is vital with an iron shot, it must be in the middle of the foot stance. The photo below shows you how this simple drill should be set up.
2 – CENTEREDNESS OF STRIKE When coaching, I am always monitoring the strike of my players because it can tell me so much. All you need is a bottle of Doctor Scholls spray, it will help with one of the most important factors for a good golf shot. Spray it on your clubface and when striking a ball it will leave a mark like the picture below, it’s a fantastic way to learn what the golf ball does in ball flight when struck on different parts of the clubface. A bottle of Doctor Scholls should be in every player’s golf bag.
3 – COIN DRILL WHEN CHIPPING I have a favorite drill for creating a great strike when chipping and controlling the low point of the club. Unfortunately, a lot of players tend to hit the ground before the ball leading to duffed chips shots. Here’s a way to eliminate this: Place a coin 3 inches in front of the ball, when chipping make sure you hit the ball and then the coin. If you can learn this technique then you will become more consistent.
4- SPEED CONTROL WHEN PUTTING The right speed on your putts is vital, if the speed is wrong you could have the most perfect line but the ball will not drop into the hole. A great way to practice your speed control is to use this drill in the picture below. You’re trying to get your putts to finish between the tees, which are 12 inches apart from the three different distances. This is a great way to work and improve your feel for speed.

Why is serving the Air Force important to you?
226-3285 • Bldg 659
Serving the Air Force as a Family Child Care provider is important to me because it allows me to provide military children with a safe, stable, and positive learning environment to develop and grow. Military children endure a lot of challenges most children do not have to encounter, such as moving to different places, being away from family, having to make new friends over and over, and managing life with a deployed parent. As a mother of three children and a military spouse I understand these challenges, and I try my best to provide families with a smooth transition during those times.

Becoming FCC Provider of the Year 2017 is definitely my greatest accomplishment and the one I am most proud of.
What are your personal/professional goals? Earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
What is your favorite part of your job? There are many parts of my job that I enjoy, but the part I enjoy the most is supporting children’s learning and development. It is so rewarding to see the joy and excitement in the children when they accomplish a new skill. Additionally, being a FCC provider allows me to experience these special moments with my own children. 26 26LAKENHEATHFSS.COM | atEase LAKENHEATHFSS.COM | atEase

TIFFANY'S TAKE Can't decide what new movies to watch? Tiffany's seen them all and gives her reviews every month.
Murder on the Orient Express Based on the book by Agatha Christie, about a train ride through Europe that quickly turns into a race against time when a murder is committed. After an avalanche stops the Orient Express dead in its tracks, the world's greatest detective, "Hercule Poirot" must investigate every passenger on board until the case is closed. Even if you have not read the book or watched the 1974 rendition, if you are a fan of mystery, this film will not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed it and really appreciated the beautiful scenery as well as the star-studded cast.
Coco This movie follows the tale of "Miguel", who loves music and wants to be like his idol, "Ernesto De La Cruz", only to be a member of a family who has banned music for generations. Adamant in proving his talent, he finds himself in the land of the dead, where he meets a trickster named "Hector". Together, they begin a journey to remember. We learn about Miguel's family history and discover the reason behind their hatred of music. Once again, Disney-Pixar delivers a captivating story of family values and sends a strong message about tradition. 35

Bouncy houses go by many names, at ODR they call them Air Castles. More interesting names include: moon bounce, boingalow, astrojump, moonwalk, jolly jump and spacewalk. In the Spanish community they are known as "brinca brinca", Spanish for "jump jump". Luckily for us, as the bouncy house has evolved, ODR has kept up with the current trends. They have the bouncy houses for children, but they also cater to all age groups. If you're looking for the something for morale day, they have the Gladiator Duel as well other adult inflatable activities. It's good to know that if we're looking for some fun ODR has the "houses" to keep us laughing and having a good time.

Bouncy houses were designed and created in 1959. An unknown fact, the idea came from two employees jumping on an inflatable tennis court covers WHAT?! The first bouncy house was called a "space pillow" because it was an open top mattress concept with no sides and no top. The biggest bouncy house took two years to build, from 1994 to 1996, in Canada. Jumping for 30 minutes can burn up to 240 calories. Sign me up! atEase | APRIL 2018
