PUT A PIN IN IT! TIME TO PLAN YOUR NEXT OUTING AT THE NEW AND IMPROVED LIBERTY LANES Call us narcissistic, but we LOVE the new, interactive scoring system at Liberty Lanes. Each bowler starts the game by using the system’s built-in camera to take three selfies: a happy face, a sad face, and a side profile shot. From there, the fun begins. Each time the ball rolls down the lane, the bowling center’s new 49” LED monitors display animated skits featuring the people in your party. There’s something about seeing your friend’s face in a cartoon sheep costume that makes even a bad game of bowling an overall great time. The new QubicaAMF BES X scoring system at the bowling center is not the only thing that’s new. In fact, the facility has invested more than $550K into improvements executed over the past year – providing patrons with state-of-the-art bowling equipment that also includes updated lanes and new bumper rails. Looking for a place to host your next squadron event, birthday party, or get-together? Give them a call.
WHAT’S NEW AT LIBERTY LANES? For the Serious Bowler: New Lanes! While on the surface it just looks like a shiny new lane, tournament and league bowlers are raving about the improved functionality of our new QubicaAMF SPL lane project. We replaced all bowling surfaces with new SPL lanes and approaches, new foul detector units, new lane channels (gutters) and capping, a Durabowl bumper system and Harmony Wave masking unit panels. The new lanes also feature a Glow Track! What has this meant for bowlers? Since installing the new lanes, our tournament and league bowlers have scored seven 300 games and three 800+ series.
For the Novice: Bumpers! Bringing junior along but don’t want to use bumpers for everyone? Our new DuraBowl Bumper Rails provide great flexibility for parties of varying skill levels as they can be activated and retracted from the scoring console. They also offer a livelier bounce than other bumper systems, guaranteeing that toddlers knock over more pins.
For the Young at Heart: Interactive Scoring System Our scoring system got a complete facelift this year, from new 49” LED monitors to the QubicaAMF BES X graphics and games system itself. Not only does the system have fun features like a built-in camera and interactive games, it’s also easy to use. Now you can use Lane Chatter to send messages to other lanes, review game statistics and individual standings, utilize frame progression and much more. No longer are you struggling to type in your name, this interface functions like a tablet.

MORE SPACE FOR ACTIVITIES If you've stepped foot in the weight room at the Fitness Center this month, you've noticed a sizable difference! Replacing the old overflow basketball court, the new weight room has more than doubled in size from its previous location allowing the equipment adequate space to be contained in one room instead of three. Even better, the weight room is now available for 24/7 use with your access card. The move has also opened up two new PT areas that can be reserved by squadrons, along with new spaces for current fitness classes including HIIT and yoga. The changes have elicited a positive response from gym-goers. Clay, a regular at the gym, remarked, "The effort put into moving the weight rooms was INCREDIBLE! Reminds me of the Golds gym in LA, you are always making things better!" If you haven't been to the gym lately, this just might give you a good reason to get back into the routine.
"LOVE THE NEW SET-UP! MAKES MUCH MORE SENSE AND ADDS LOADS OF ROOM FOR WORKOUTS. GREAT JOB FITNESS TEAM!" ICE Comment received 9/13/17

ZOOKEEPER'S WIFE • PG-13• DRAMA 4.5/5 for a moving film
NEW RELEASES:
The Zookeeper's Wife is the true story of Jan and Antonina Zabinski who owned the Warsaw Zoo and lived in peace until German forces stormed Poland in 1939. The zoo that the couple loved so much was invaded and closed. The Zabinskis', who were cared for by many, joined the resistance and helped hide as many Jews in the hidden tunnels and cages of their zoo as they could to keep them from German capture. This movie takes viewers on an emotional roller-coaster - you'll definitely need to have your tissues ready! After the Nazi surrender, Warsaw started rebuilding and the zoo was reopened. It remains open to this day.

ASK YOUR MECHANIC WHERE WE TAKE YOUR QUESTIONS STRAIGHT TO THE SOURCE Q: The roads here in England have me worried about my tires! Any tips to help keep them safe? A: We get a lot of questions about tire safety here for just that reason. Your tires connect your vehicle to the road, so not paying attention to them can have a big impact on your car’s balance, handling and safety. Keep yourself safe and get the most out of your tires by implementing a few of these simple tips. Check your tire pressure regularly – It’s imperative that you keep your tire pressure at the recommended level as low pressure can result in numerous problems, including losing grip on wet roads. Recommended tire pressures can be found in your owner's manual or on a sticker on the car (usually on the driver's door or fuel door). Tire pressure is best checked in cold conditions as the friction of driving will warm up the tires and increase pressure, giving you an inaccurate reading. Under-inflated tires have more rolling resistance, which means fuel is consumed more quickly. Check for tread depth – The legal MOT limit for minimum depth of the tread on your tires is 1.6 millimeters, across the central ¾ of the tread around the complete circumference of the tire. Need a quick way to check? Take a quarter and insert it upside down into the groove of the tire. Can you see above Washington’s head? Time to start shopping. Always replace a worn or damaged tire – No one wants to drop money on new tires as they can get expensive. But if your tire is worn or has damage – like nicks, bulges, cracks or cuts – it’s best to get it replaced. Another tip? Make sure you put new tires on the back axel. Losing traction in your rear wheels first will cause the car to spin.
MORE TIRE TIPS: Don’t forget to check the pressure of your spare tire. A flat spare won’t help! Uneven tire ware is often a sign that your car is out of alignment. If in doubt, come to the Auto Hobby Complex or Tire & Lube Center and we’ll be happy to help!
