his time we decided to venture out down to the old town side of Benidorm we hopped into a taxi as we didn’t know where to go we paid €5.50. Festilandia in Benidorm is a superb little theme park for children located just on the outskirts on the old town of Benidorm just on the av.del mediterraneo just one block up from lavante beech. It offers excellent and reasonably priced rides for children of all ages, there is something here for all the family my 9 and 6 year-old loved it. There is a small snack bar inside that is available when the park is open, we enjoyed an ice cream and a coca cola in the heat, from July the park opens at 18.30 and closes at 1.30am so if your looking for something to do in the evenings with the little ones this is the place to be,
Next door is the ozone bowling open daily from 10.00am till 2.00am alley with arcade and diner bowling starts at €5 per session per person depending on the day you play. There are 14 lanes, and they are clean and modern, the lanes are suitable for children and people with limited access as you can request the lane sides up for certain games. When you pay and play bowling you are required to use the inhouse bowling shoes and they will be swapped with your personal shoes so wear some socks. After a game of bowling you can relax with a burger and beer or a soft drink for the kids and have a game of pool in the arcade area these also include air hocky and plenty of games and fun for the family.

IT’S ALWAYS a busy week for Project 4 All preparing hot cooked meals for the homeless and those in need throughout the local area. It is not unusual for them to prepare 350kg of delicious food prepared by various volunteer cooks and distributed along the streets and homes from Javea to Calpe and of course Benidorm all meals come with a drink and desert. Along with the food comes some welcomed affection and let’s be honest we all need a bit of that..Apart from food Project4All provide litres of water,sleeping bags,tents and clothing. he Flamingo Oasis is a 4 star hotel located on Av. Dr. Severo Ochoa in Benidorm just a 15 minute gentle walk to the beach. The Flamingo Oasis provides one of the best all inclusive options in Benidorm. This newly refurbished hotel offers animal themes throughout, the room are spacious offering two beds and two sofas that can be turned into beds. Bathroom includes a rainfall shower bath and double sink perfect for that little family. The piano bar is a little something for the adults and you can sit back and relax with a drink or two after a hard day at the pool. In the lobby there is a large spacious bar that serves all your favourite drinks from cocktails to Coca-Cola. Down the stairs from the restaurant is the show bar and, in the evenings, you can watch the entertainment organised by the animation team, during the summer months the entertainment is on the outside stage. The all inclusive at the flamingo oasis includes breakfast lunch and dinner in the newly refurbished buffet restaurant. This restaurant also offers international dishes along with theme nights and a daily
kid’s area with a very wide selection of dishes for everyone’s taste, since the refurbishment the club rooms have moved down to the back of the restaurant. Located next to the restaurant and the show bar is a large outdoor pool area, you can join in with the daily activities or enjoy a daily cocktail from the snack bar in the summer months there is also a little toddler pool for those little ones with water slides and water cannons for them to pass the time away. Let’s not forget if it rains or during the winter months there is also an indoor pool for everyone to enjoy with jacuzzi style jets located each side. There is also an option to upgrade your rooms to the club rooms for adults this includes the use of the club area in the restaurant and the exclusive use of the roof top pool and bar area where you can relax with a drink or two after your day of exploring. For those who don’t want to upgrade to club rooms or those who have children but enjoy a premium brand of beer or spirit then the hotel offers this upgrade service for just 10 euros per day per person. The staff here at the Flamingo Oasis are very friendly and nothing is too much for them, enjoy guys!.

The first thing that hit me, was the lovely smell of fish& chips, not the usual smell of burnt oil greasey food like many other places Andy Horne: The best food in Beni. Perfect breakfast with only British ingredients and free range eggs to die for. Black pudding available at a supplement. For Fishy Fryday they literally give you whale and (homemade) chips. Absolute whoppers. Full menu served all day so if you want a breakkie for tea you can have it. Great value €1.50 Estrella to wash the lot down with. Perfec!

"GASTRO PORTIONS" Had a lovely meal here while on holiday. Set in a bustling street in the old town. Service was excellent portion size huge too much really. Very good set meal price. Very friendly staff in lovely surroundings. Well worth a try. "IN A CLASS ABOVE THE OTHERS" There are many restaurants in Benidorm serving Indian food, but India Gate is definitely in a class above the others. Delicious food and excellent service, this place is always our first port of call every time we arrive in Spain. "VERY NICE" Me and my partner had the two meals for €39 excellent value Started off with poppadom and pickles, Onion bhaji and Chicken Pakora, Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Dansak for mains my Dansak was perfectly spiced and huge chunks of chicken. The Masala being just as nice. Shared a rice and Peshwari nan and a very palatable Rose wine. A extra portion of chips and a water took the bill to €44 excellent value and now my favourite Indian restaurant in the resort.

orrential downpours and lingering black clouds have left many of us wondering when summer will finally arrive. We all love sunshine, indeed most of us will cite the weather as one of the main reasons for packing up our homes and moving to Spain. In contrast with many of life’s other pleasures, the good news is that sunshine can be good for you. It plays a role in the production of vitamin D, it is good for our psychological well being and scientists have now discovered that it can actually prevent certain forms of cancer. …….Yes, there is a ‘but’ coming! Apart from causing wrinkles, allergic rashes, unsightly areas of pigmentation, damage to the immune system and cataracts, the sun can kill you. Rates of skin cancer are increasing all the time. In the UK alone, where, as we are all know , there is not a lot of sunshine, there are some 50,000 new cases each year. Living in Spain, we have to be extra careful when it comes to sun safety. Anybody can develop skin cancer, however you are more at risk if you have: Pale skin | Blonde, red or light brown hair | Been treated for skin cancer | A family member who’s had skin cancer. There are several different types of skin cancers, the most dangerous being malignant melanoma. It is very important to be aware of changes to moles that could indicate a possible malignancy. Look out for:ASYMMETRY: one half of the abnormal skin area is different than the other half. BORDERS: irregular borders. COLOUR: varies from one area to another with shades of tan, brown, or black (sometimes white, red, blue). DIAMETER: usually (but not always) larger than 6 mm in size (diameter of a pencil eraser). Any skin growth that bleeds or will not heal.There are steps that we can take to prevent skin cancer

which include staying out of the sun when it is most intense, between 10am and 4pm. If you are unable to stay out of the sun during these times make sure that you are covered up. Men are more at risk of developing skin cancers on the scalp and ears due to lack of hair so, ladies, try to inspect your men regularly! Also, some medications can make your skin more sensitive to the sun so check with your Farmacia. Apart from avoiding sun exposure, our best weapon against this disease is sunscreen but it has to be used properly. Also remember that sunburn in children can lead to skin cancer in later life.

TIPS FOR APPLYING SUNSCREEN Always use SPF 15 or higher with UVA and UVB protection. Do not use after expiry date. Apply the recommended amount evenly to all uncovered skin, especially your lips, nose, ears, neck, hands, and feet. Check the label for the correct amount of time to apply it before you go out. If the label doesn’t give a time, allow about 15 to 30 minutes. If you don’t have much hair, apply sunscreen to the top of your head, or wear a hat. Reapply often, read the label to see how often. Give babies and children extra care in the sun. Ask a doctor before applying sunscreen to children under 6 months old. Apply sunscreen to children older than 6 months every time they go out. Always re-apply after swimming. Even during winter months, and cloudy days the sun can still cause damage, so be aware. Sunscreen is not just for the summer. Everybody likes to get out and enjoy the sun and we all feel better when we have a bit of a golden glow, so, if summer ever arrives have fun in the sun but do so responsibly.

icente Gandía Winery was founded in 1885 by Vicente Gandía Plà. Since then, the property has kept the same name. It has also kept the essence of our passion for wine, handed down over the generations with a sole objective: to improve, year on year, the winery’s commitment to the world of wine. Breeze Benidorm Out & About Guide reat to be back here with you at Breeze with an update on what I’ve been up to this month. If you follow my social media; @thejessiebrooke then you’ll know I’ve been to the Benidorm Palace show, Terra, for the fourth time already! Why? Well because it’s absolutely incredible! It’s a fullon production with dancers, singers, a magician, circus acts, spectacular costumes and stage sets…. I could go on forever. If there’s one thing I really miss living here in Benidorm, it’s my regular trips to Londons Westend. Yes, there are fabulous, free shows to see in town, but none to this scale of production as Benidorm Palace have. There’s at least 20 people in the show I would say. This doesn’t even include the five-piece live jazz band, who are outstanding by the way. The palace itself is an incredible building to see and as you go inside it opens up into a proper theatre with seating and dining tables. There is an option to have food whilst there with different packages, however, the options are set. So for example, if you have a preference for how you may like your steak cooked like me, unfortunately, this choice is not available. Drinks are also additional to the packages, but the great news is you can still go to see the spectacular show for just 34 euros, if you want the dinner included it’s 54-64 euros. My absolute fav acts in the show are: the lazer act, so spectacular! Wow! The clown in between that does an improvisation part with the

audience - HILARIOUS! (trying hard not to give too much of the show away here before you see it) AND of course the final act of the flying twins! You have to see it to believe it! In between acts, there are incredible dancers whom flamenco, Jazz, funk, the works and literally keep you entertained the whole night through! Hats off to wardrobe for the costumes. I was left wondering if the lead singer was miming or not….. but in the end, there’s so much going on that…. well who cares? If you’re looking for something extra special for a special occasion, Benidorm Palace is a winner every time. I’m happy that this venue has managed to keep going throughout the pandemic and keep bringing tourism to the fabulous place I call home, Benidorm.
