am always out for dinner, I absolutely love food and eating out is my guilty pleasure, massively. You often ask me where to go to try a bit of tapas for some actual Spanish culture. The number of times I’ve sent people up to tapas alley and you come back saying: Oh I didn’t know how it worked/ oh it was only small portions, we got a takeaway on the way home, we were too shy to ask and didn’t know what the food was, etc. Honestly, I could go on for hours with the response I’ve had. But I know you feel you’re in Spain and want to try it out! I have found the PERFECT solution for you. Inexpensive, all food already organised/ planned to avoid embarrassment and literally all you need to do is sit there and be wined and dined. There’s a fab company two of my friends Nathan and Paul work for called Infinity weekends. There were about 8 of us wanting to go out for dinner, some love fish, others only like steak…. some wanted to have a spanish night out, others that are fussy eaters just wanted KFC….ah what a nightmare! Where do we go? What do we do? The boys hooked us up with this incredible tapas tour where you literally just sit at your table and get fed with everything that EVERYONE likes. This was music to my ears and certainly makes an evening out
to dinner VERY easy. A taste of Spain to suit everyone! There are two different menus to choose from starting at 30 euros per head, both including drinks, set in a beachfront restaurant called Taberna Manila. To be honest, we were already won over with the setting. The views are just incredible. We started off with Sangria, which was just divine! Then went on to wine and some of my friends had beer. The food that was coming out was unreal!!! Salads, steaks, fish, breads, sweets…… all made in the perfect Spanish way. So full of flavour and very tasty. It was non stop and to be honest we took loads home. It was too tasty to leave! I highly recommend this tapas tour. I’ll definitely be going again! IT’S ALWAYS a busy week for Project 4 All preparing hot cooked meals for the homeless and those in need throughout the local area. It is not unusual for them to prepare 350kg of delicious food prepared by various volunteer cooks and distributed along the streets and homes from Javea to Calpe and of course Benidorm all meals come with a drink and desert. Along with the food comes some welcomed affection and let’s be honest we all need a bit of that..Apart from food Project4All provide litres of water,sleeping bags,tents and clothing. A
qualandia is a waterpark located in the hills of Benidorm next door to the marine and exotic animal park Mundomar. Aqualandia is set on a big beautiful hill side with many water rides for all ages. There is various tariffs available depending on your requirements. According on what you want Aqualandia has 3 different routes green amber and red and as you guessed it green is family friendly right up to red extreme route this is not for the faint hearted. These include mini zig-zag for the kids up to the big bang and vertigo for the thrill seekers. The park offers restaurants to take care of everyone from the snack bar, pizzeria, burger bar and Ice-Cream stands there is something for everyone, if you wish to bring your own lunch there is a picnic area that visitors can utilize, on top of all of this there is a gift shop and photography area to catch those wet magical moments. Not to worry there is also a cash machine and lockers available at a small charge. Each ride has its own specific
rules and instructions please familiarise yourself with them as there are there for yours and your family´s safety. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and you must be able to swim to use rides for safety reasons , the staff on park are very helpful and friendly and if in any doubt just ask and they will be happy to help you. The park is very clean and tidy there is plenty of seating area for people to utilize some with cover from the sun and not forgetting plenty of trees providing shade if you get a little too hot. Pools are filled with salt water which Aqualandia takes pride in filtering the water using advanced systems making it clean and healthy for their guests. To sum up our experience in a few words….. we had an absolute blast my kids and I enjoyed this experience immensely, well worth the money and the memories made are priceless, we will be back soon Aqualandia!. I have been a few times, I had the Caesar salad and everything was fresh, well presented and well priced, then I had their special cake and shot only 3 euros which is served all day. I chose the lemon cake served with a limoncello shot served by the lovely Sarah. A full range of food is available all day Inc. English breakfast that is made with all English products. es Fonts d’Algar, located just 15 km from Benidorm and 3 km from the urban center of Callosa d’en Sarrià, towards Bolulla, constitute a natural site with a high degree of conservation of ecological wealth and endowed with at the same time, tourist services and environmental education. This space was declared a Wet Zone protected by the Agreement of the Valencian Government of September 10, 2002. The visit consists of a 1.5 km long circuit along the channel of the Algar river (“cave” in Arabic) to see the landscape resulting from the limestone karst modeling: the spectacular waterfalls; the numerous springs that spring from the rock; the “tolls” (pools of water) where you can take refreshing baths with pure and crystalline waters, formerly considered as a
“source of health”; the old dam, the imposing canal and the centuriesold ditches still in use today. The services aimed at facilitating and enriching the visit with environmental education resources are the following: Tourist Office, parking areas, toilets, first aid, the Arboretum, the picnic area and the 2nd category camping. To all this we must add the Dino Park Algar, as well as the 5 restaurants that exist in the immediate vicinity, where you can enjoy the typical gastronomy of the area.

enidorm has a fabulous open air market every Wednesday and Sunday and it’s located near to the hotel Servigroup Pueblo and hotel Helios. Markets in Spain take place in the morning from around 9am until 1pm but what’s on sale largely depends on the customer’s needs; inland you’ll find more food stalls and practical items for sale - whilst here in Benidorm with tourists in mind you’ll find a fab selection of footwear, handbags - including some very convincing, low cost fakes - tablecloth’s, clothes, belts… and a couple of bars of course, to keep you hydrated whilst browsing!
Most prices are clearly displayed - if they arn’t, expect to barter. And like all markets keep your cash close and leave your passport in the safe! But if the thought of trawling a market in the hot sun fills you with dread, you’ll be pleased to know the Mercaloix or ‘indoor market’ offers a ‘cooler’ alternative! Open every day from 8am until around 5pm, it offers mostly the same stalls as the outdoor market, plus money exchange kiosks… and best of all it’s fully air conditioned! Find the ‘indoor market’ in between the Hotel Ocas and the Servigroup Nereo, open every day except Sunday.

’m definitely a beach girl…. yes, read that again: a BEACH girl. Haha. But I’m often asked, what is there to do in the daytime, other than sitting directly in the sun to catch those rays. So many of you visit Benidorm for the warm climate but get sooooooo bored sitting around the pool or on the beach and would much rather be doing something fun. Well, I have just the perfect pass time for you! I swear there is NEVER a dull moment in what I would say is the best karaoke bar in town; THE WORLD FAMOUS BLACK CHICKEN. The second you step into the bar, the atmosphere is electric. If there’s no one dancing on the chairs, going crazy on the karaoke or even dressed as an actual chicken, then you’ve probably stepped into the wrong bar. Situated down the side street right opposite the Ambassador Hotel, you can’t miss it. Right next door to the Palladium Cabaret bar. The world-famous black chicken opens at 11am every single day, so get yourselves down there nice and early to get a seat on their sun terrace! What a suntrap that is. Daytime prices will only set you back with pints for just 1.80e and two spirit and mixers for just 4e! Build up that dutch courage as the karaoke
starts at 2 in the afternoon! You can sit inside or out and be entertained or be the entertainer. There’s always something weird and wonderful going on in the black chicken! I know because I’m the karaoke host there Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm - 7pm. I spend most of my shift egging you on to do the conga or oops ups side your head…. even the hokey cokey. It’s such a laugh, but you have to come and see it to believe it. You really have to pop in to believe what a fun time it is there. With the best karaoke hosts in town: Steven, Mark and Gabrielle, the karaoke runs every single day from 2pm - 2am. None stop fun from start to finish. The bar staff are such fun and would be impossible not to be with the best boss in town. Big shout out to Alison Thornley! Hope to see you all there very soon. xxx
