Komatsu PC170LC
SPECIALIST CONTRACTORS FIND ‘FIT FOR PURPOSE’ KOMATSU PC170LC TICKS ALL THE BOXES
Operating primarily in the electrical infrastructure and renewable energy sectors, County Tyrone based specialist civil engineering contractors Adman Civil Projects Ltd are clearly big fans of the Komatsu brand; the company has just added another to their already impressive fleet.
We caught up with the company on their latest windfarm project in the rural upland setting of central Donegal, approximately 10km south west of Letterkenny, where we spotted at least six Komatsu machines hard at work, including the new
PC170LC which, like the others, was supplied by WAC McCandless. Lenalea is a 7 turbine 30.5 MW consented windfarm and when completed in 2023 it will generate enough low carbon renewable energy to power 20,000 homes annually and offset 24,500 tonnes of carbon per annum, contributing significantly to Ireland’s 2030 renewable energy targets. The PC170LC is the third Komatsu delivered to the company by the dealers this year and joins a number of other Komatsus on the windfarm project, including two new PC360LCs. In total, the contractors have more than a dozen Komatsu machines on their fleet, so what attracts the Adman Group to the brand? Comments site foreman Matt Teague: “The Komatsu is well designed and the build quality is strong and reliable – and our operators are very happy with both the performance and the comfort of the machines.” Those sentiments have been echoed by Adman Civil Projects Ltd’s Managing Director Adrian McCrory, who adds: “We like to stick with a brand that doesn’t give us any problems; reliability is everything and the Komatsu doesn’t disappoint. “The fact that they are low ground pressure (LGP) machines is an added bonus and with the 1400mm pads, they really come into their own when working within a windfarm environment as the wider tracks make it perfect for operating on softer surfaces and other difficult terrain. “Because the Komatsu comes factory made with the extended pads and, importantly, engine power to match, they compare more favourably with brands that don’t – which is another reason we chose Komatsu; essentially, it is a fit for purpose machine.” Adds Adrian: “Komatsu and their dealers WAC McCandless provide us with an excellent back up service; the team at McCandless looks after us very well and we know we can call on them anytime we have any issues and they will respond without delay, which is what we need on major contracts such as this because unnecessary or unexpected downtime can be a costly matter. We have been dealing with them since 2007 and our experience has always been a positive one.”
Challenging Conditions
The new Komatsu is working alongside the others, creating pathways, culverts, head walls and other infrastructure elements for the
windfarm development. It can be a harsh environment, especially in winter time. “It is a challenging terrain, but the Komatsu machines are well able to cope,” says Matt Teague. “This time of year, it is a cold morning start for men and machines, but the Komatsu’s spark into life without any difficulties, and the drivers really appreciate the comfort and warmth of the cab as the weather can quickly change in these hills, and with winter around the corner it is certainly going to make the going even tougher.” Adds Matt: “This new PC170LC, like the PC360LCs, comes fully equipped with LED lights, which is a big bonus as the nights draw in and the mornings get darker; I just know they will be an impressive sight and will greatly enhance visibility for the operators.”
Fuel Efficient
Taking a closer but brief look at the Komatsu PC170LC, it features a powerful Komatsu EU Stage IV engine, with adjustable idle shutdown which automatically turns off the engine after it idles for a set period of time. This feature can easily be programmed from 5 to 60 minutes, to reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and exhaust emissions, and to lower operating costs. An Eco-gauge and the
Eco guidance tips on the cab monitor further encourage efficient operations. Six working modes - Power, Lifting, Breaker, Economy, Attachment Power and Attachment Economy - are all available, ensuring that the PC170LC delivers the power you need with minimised fuel usage. The Economy mode can be adjusted for an ideal balance between power and economy to match your work.
A standard fit additional hydraulic circuit, controlled by a sliding joystick push button and a floor mounted pedal, gives the PC170LC excellent versatility. Ten attachment memory settings are provided, with individually definable names. In combination with the standard-fit hydraulic quick coupler power circuit, changing working style is now even simpler. A second auxiliary hydraulic line is available for attachments which require extra hydraulic actuation.
Comfort & Safety
As already mentioned, the cab has clearly been designed with the operator in mind. It is spacious and comes with a standard air-suspended high-back seat, heated for improved comfort, and fitted with fully adjustable armrests. A large TFT monitor offers a clearer, easier-to-use operator interface - and thanks to the combination of the silent engine and the cab’s superb sound isolation, it is as quiet to operate as the average family car. There’s also a host of safety features. A neutral detection system for travel and work equipment levers, for example, increase jobsite safety, along with a seat belt caution indicator and an audible travel alarm. Highly durable anti-slip plates – with additional high friction covering – maintain long term traction performance, while KomVision machine visibility gives the operator a constant clear view of the safety zone around the machine. Meanwhile, routine maintenance is made easy and safe thanks to thermal guards around high temperature areas of the engine, protected fan belt and pulleys, a pump/ engine partition that prevents hydraulic oil from spraying onto the engine, a wide catwalk and exceptionally sturdy handrails.

Other Komatsu Machines
Also impressing operators at the Adman Group are the two new powerful 36 tonne Komatsu PC360LCs mentioned earlier; they have a lot in common with the PC170LC machine. They feature two boom mode settings - a “power” mode for a more effective excavating digging force and a “smooth” mode for gathering material and for fine grading operations, while pressing the PowerMax function button temporarily gives the PC360LC’s digging force a further boost. As with the PC170LC, the PC360LCs offer six working modes - Power, Lifting, Breaker, Economy, Attachment Power and Attachment Economy; the Economy mode can be adjusted for an ideal balance between power and economy to match your work, while the oil flow delivered to hydraulic attachments is also adjustable directly on the class-leading widescreen monitor panel. The PC360LCs Komatsu SpaceCab feature a standard air-suspended high-back seat, heated for improved comfort and with fully adjustable armrests, while ergonomic controls add to the operator’s comfortable working environment – and in addition to the standard radio, the PC360LC has an auxiliary input for connecting external devices and play music through the cab speakers. There’s also lots of convenient storage room, a hot and cool box, a magazine box and a cup holder. Other Komatsu’s in the Adman Group fleet include an older PC170, a PC210 and a 50 tonne PC490, and like all Komatsu excavators they are built to be tough and durable, with single piece plates and castings used in key areas of the machine’s structure for good load distribution. Highly durable rubbing strips on the under-side of the arm protect the structure against impact damage.

EDGE INNOVATE’S NEXT GENERATION SHREDDER MAKING A BIG IMPACT
One of the local ‘stars’ at the recent Lets Recycle Live 2021 show was undoubtedly EDGE Innovate’s next generation mobile twin shaft waste shredder, the VS420, which has become widely regarded as a world class machine since its launch at ConExpo in Las Vegas last year.
As the only UK manufacturer of shredding machines putting on a ‘live’ demonstration at the show at the NAEC Stoneleigh, south of Coventry, it attracted plenty of attention. “We sold our first VS420 in the UK last year and since then sales have shot up into double figures, so we are delighted with the impact we have made across the water where we are still in the process of introducing it to potential customers, which was why it was important we were at the Lets Recycle Live event,” comments EDGE Innovate’s Marketing Manager Adrian Donnelly. With its high capacity, reliability and low running costs, it is not surprising the EDGE VS420 is proving to be an excellent shredding alternative to what is currently on the market. “After the last year and a half, it was good to finally get physically in front of potential customers again, and we are currently following up some leads from the show,” adds Adrian. “For a shredder of its class, we have priced it at an attractive level and we are confident we can build on the sales momentum it has generated to date.” A high capacity, high torque twin shaft waste shredder that is ideal for the processing of a large variety of materials including green waste, MSW, C&D waste, biomass and end of life tyres, it offers a host of design features as standard.
Alert System
These include EDGE’s Intelligent Load Management and the VS Status Alert System which work in tandem to ensure the efficient loading of the shredder “It allows the operator to know the status of the shredder, when to continue loading material, when not to load or if there is a blockage thus ensuring maximum throughput while preventing material overload,” explains Adrian. The slow speed shredder also includes a ‘track and shred’ functionality which is another unique feature available as standard on all VS420 units. It enables the VS420 to be repositioned via remote whilst continuing to shred material. Other notable features found on the VS420 include hydraulic hopper extensions with integrated locking mechanisms. The simple configurable nature of the extensions allows for flexible loading whilst creating a much larger target area for loaders. This results in reduced material spillage and improved operational safety. This is supported by a large capacity tipping hopper with remote functionality. This feature is particularly beneficial for the feeding of elongated feed stocks. A hydraulic height adjustable powerful twin pole magnet fitted to the discharge conveyor ensures a high rate of ferrous metal recovery from the waste stream. At the heart of the VS420 are twin synchronised, high torque shredder shafts which can be customised to suit a customer’s exact application and desired
product piece size. EDGE’s twin shaft design provides exceptional material intake, ensures less wear, promotes selfcleaning and prevents material wrapping even in the toughest of applications which can be an issue evident with many single shaft shredder units.
Fuel Efficient
Powered by a fuel efficient Caterpillar C9.3B Tier 4 Final / Stage V ACERT engine with a power rating of 310Kw (420HP), the machine is controlled via the latest EDGE Operating System (EOS) which provides improved user-friendly controls and allows the operator greater control over programme settings, shaft speed and reverse cycles. For example, the VS420 operating system provides five factory pre-set shredder programmes for demolition wood, general waste, green waste, mattresses, and compost so that operators can jump quickly from one application to another and still achieve favourable outputs. There are three additional programme settings that can be tailored by the operator to suit their specific input materials.
Servicing & Support
“The design of the machine allows for easy routine servicing and maintenance,” says Adrian, “with a ‘One Point’ service area which enables daily checks to be completed much more efficiently. Operators can access fuel and Adblue tanks, air filters and oil gauge, all from a single vantage point.” An added attraction, especially for customers across the island of Ireland, is that like all EDGE Innovate equipment, the VS420 is manufactured inhouse at the company’s facilities in Tyrone. “It means that by dealing directly with us we can provide a high level of aftersales support, with service engineers readily on hand, and excellent availability of spare parts.”
in profile ANOTHER STRONG YEAR FOR SLEATOR PLANT & THE SANY EXCAVATOR RANGE
It has been a very strong year to date for Sleator Plant and SANY, with growing sales across the Chinese manufactured excavator range, and there’s a lot more to come.
Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the partnership between SANY and Sleator Plant continues to make a big impact in the all-Ireland market, as operators quickly appreciate the brand’s quality, power, reliability and value for money. As the fifth largest and most dynamic, technologically advanced producers of heavy machinery in the world, SANY has a growing international presence, including manufacturing and R&D facilities in the US, Brazil, India and Germany. SANY’s machines, which range from 1.6 tonne to 50 tonne, can tackle the toughest jobs - from road building, to earth moving, to construction - providing the highest level of reliability and are fitted with trusted components from the world’s best suppliers, including engines, hydraulics and axles. Earlier this year the manufacturer announced an industry leading five year warranty across the full range of SANY excavators sold within the UK & Ireland. The warranty is available on all new SANY excavators, giving customers peace of mind for 5 years or 3000 hours, whichever comes first, on the mini range of excavators (9t and below) and 5 years or 5000 hours, whichever comes first, on the large range of excavators (13t and above). “The introduction of a five year warranty directly reflects our confidence in the quality of our excavators,” commented Leigh Harris, Business Development Director SANY UK & Ireland. “SANY is absolutely committed to the UK & Irish market and we want to demonstrate this commitment by giving our customers peace of mind around their investment.”
Successful Shows
Adds Sleator Plant’s AfterSales Manager Aaron McCaul: “This extended warranty, coupled with the excellent build quality of the brand, has certainly helped us to build on our sales momentum which was reinforced by our recent attendance at both the Balmoral Show in the north and the CQMS show in the south. “Our stands at both events were very busy, with visitors from across the island of Ireland coming to see the SANY range up close, and since then we have secured a number of major orders. One customer, for example, has ordered five machines – an SY50, SY75, SY80U and two SY135Cs – and we will be following up other interest from the shows over the coming weeks. “Recently, too, we demonstrated to another customer the new fuel efficient
SY155U short radius 16 tonne excavator and he placed an order for it and for a bigger 22 tonne SY215C. SANY machines are leaving our depot almost as quickly as they are delivered to us, and thanks to good availability, we can readily meet that demand.” Until now, most machines have been coming from Germany but with Scotland now a SANY hub for the UK and Ireland that will further improve lead times here.
Comprehensive Range
The operator friendly SANY range is comprehensive, starting at 1.6 tonne, as we mentioned. These mini excavators are versatile multi-purpose machines for use on any construction site or landscaping project. The latest generation offers impressive technical standards and excellent value for money. One of the most popular in the range at the moment is the compact 2.6 tonne SANY SY26U short-tail-swing excavator which is especially suited to use in confined circumstances. Its robust design and excellent performance data make this machine ideal for all earth-moving and road-building projects. Other popular models include the 14 tonne SY135C. Extremely powerful, it offers outstanding driver comfort. Despite its compact design, it displays impressive versatility and performance, outstanding at digging, crushing, loading and backfilling. Its power allows it to reach high excavating forces which would otherwise only be possible with significantly bigger machines. Perfect for use in places where space is limited. Attracting plenty of attention, too, is the 20 tonne SY215C, which features a Cummins engine, strengthened components, high operating efficiency, low fuel consumption, easy maintenance and comfort cab. There’s no doubt the SANY product is attracting the attention of operators who may not have considered them in the past; once they see the SANY up close and climb into the cab they begin to appreciate the build quality and what they are getting for their money; anyone who has seen the machines in action, or has driven them themselves, come away very impressed.

Brown & Mason Add Third Sandvik to their Fleet
Brown and Mason Group Limited, specialists in the demolition sector, were commissioned to demolish Rugeley ‘B’ power station in Staffordshire; to assist in the recycling of the demolition material they decided to stick with what they know best and purchased a third Sandvik QJ341 mobile jaw crusher.
Customers of Sandvik since 1998, and owning two units of QJ341 mobile jaw crushers, B&M were already familiar with the benefits which the bestselling QJ341 model has to offer. Nick Brown, Managing Director of Brown & Mason commented: “With the reliability of the QJ341 and aftermarket support we have received, Sandvik was the first choice of supply when it came to investment in an additional unit.” Retec Equipment, recently appointed distributor for Sandvik Mobile crushers and screens for the Greater London and South-Eastern counties, were able to offer and deliver a QJ341 unit within the required timeframe. Ideal for demolition projects, the QJ341 comes with a number of features specifically designed for recycling applications. These include a reverse crushing action for relieving blockages and a hydraulic raise and lower facility on the main conveyor. This has proved particularly beneficial for Brown & Mason due to the large proportion of steel content in the feed material. The main conveyor can be operated at a lower discharge height to give greater clearance between the magnet and conveyor, as well as enabling easier access for maintenance. Its hydraulic drive enables the crusher to start under load, minimizing downtime and a jaw level sensor ensures optimum flow of material into the crushing chamber. The QJ341 also comes fitted with Optitooth™ jaw plates for extended life, increased throughput and reduced fuel consumption. These features, combined with Sandvik My Fleet remote monitoring system, all help to minimize operator intervention, maximize uptime and achieve optimum output at all times.
Flexibility
The new QJ341 is being used to crush the material at the site more or less wherever, and whenever, it is required. The machine can be tracked with ease to the material, rather than taking the material to the machine. Set at a CSS of approx. 60mm to reduce down to 0-90mm dust, the new QJ341 is working alongside an existing unit to process the sheer volume of material following demolition of the four cooling towers. The project is to be completed by the beginning of September. Brown & Mason has developed a reputation for excellence in demolition and dismantling as well as minimizing the impact of their works on the environment, this is a achieved by attaining an average waste recycle rate of 98% across all of their sites as well as investment in their plant and machinery. This ties in well with the future development of the demolished power station. Following completion of the site clearance work, the site owner and regeneration specialist, ENGIE, will progress with plans to redevelop the site into a low-carbon mixed use community. This green development site was granted outline planning permission in April 2021 and will include 2,300 new low carbon homes with low carbon all through school. This is an exciting development for the local area and a great example of how a site can be regenerated to help achieve a lower carbon future. Sandvik, as a manufacturer with a focus on sustainability and drive to a more circular economy, is delighted to be involved in this redevelopment project. The QJ341 product itself, contributes to a lower carbon footprint through its emissionscompliant engine with reduced emissions.
SMALL IN SIZE, BIG PERSONALITY - THAT’S KOBELCO’S LATEST NEXT GENERATION MINI EXCAVATORS
As a construction manufacturer specialising in excavator development, Kobelco understands the importance of mini excavators to its overall product line-up. Mini models play a key role in landscaping, utilities and on small construction projects, but they can also provide vital support on larger jobsites too.
The next generation Kobelco SK50SRX-7 and SK58SRX-7 mini excavators, available from McSharry TRACK, deliver increased performance and productivity and follow Kobelco’s Performance X Design concept for enhanced design and operator comfort. This reinforces the Japanese manufacturer’s continued commitment to developing its smaller machinery alongside its heavier equipment. Performance is key to mini excavator operators, particularly when project deadlines are tight. The all-new SK50/58SRX-7 machines benefit from improved hydraulic performance when compared to the previous models (SK45SRX-6E and SK55SRX-6E). The new hydraulic system shortens the digging cycle time by up to 11% (SK58SRX-7), and this high performance can be maintained without reducing speed, even with a heavy load or when travelling up a slope. In addition, the replacement of the travel motor and swivel joint has increased the travel and hill climbing speeds by up to 12% and 10% respectively (SK58SRX-7). Other benefits of the new hydraulic system include smoother operation and improved
EXCLISIVE DEALER - Rep. of Ireland & N. Ireland
levelling performance. The Integrated Flow Pump System enables operators to harness extra output from the third pump, which otherwise powers the swing and dozer circuit. This additional output is directed to the arm and boom for added power when digging, resulting in a fast and smooth raising operation, even with heavy loads. Like all Kobelco’s Short Radius (SR) machines, the SK50/58SRX-7 feature a compact tail swing for operation in restricted spaces, such as on urban or residential jobsites, for a smaller working footprint. However, a larger boom and arm are provided as standard equipment for a wide working range.
Unique Blade Design
The machines’ unique blade design ensures the earth always falls forward and not behind the blade when dozing, meaning that only ‘one pass’ is needed and saving time on the jobsite. Inside the cabin, the dozer can be controlled by the ergonomically designed lever, which is easier to grip, and the first and second speed switches have been repositioned in order to improve manoeuvrability. An angled dozer and floating dozer are also available as optional equipment. Durability and reliability of the SK50/58SRX-7 is assured through reinforced construction. The boom, arm and swing bracket all have large cross-section segments for added attachment strength, and the bolt-tightened pins firmly lock the boom to prevent the boom top from opening laterally. The bucket features a cast-iron idler link, and the box construction dozer supports provide greater strength. Despite its compact size, the SK50/58SRX-7 also follows the same stunning Performance X Design concept for improved design and operator comfort, as seen on the recently released Kobelco SK210(N) LC-11 and SK500/530LC-11 machines.
Comfort & Safety
A proven Grammer suspension and reclining seat provides excellent shock absorption and comfort on all terrains. Improved ergonomics enable the operator to move the control levers horizontally without twisting their wrist, and the enlarged wrist rests keep the operator’s forearms in position, reducing fatigue and allowing stable operation. The air conditioner, smartphone holder (Bluetooth handsfreeenabled), USB/AUX port, DAB+ Radio, cup holder and coat hook provide some home comforts during long hours of operation. A colour display comes as standard and provides easy access to operating history, maintenance cycle and fuel and water temperature gauges. It can also be used to adjust the hydraulic oil flow to the attachments. When in Energy Conservation mode, the SK50/58SRX-7 adapts S-mode to enable 26% less fuel consumption when compared with H-mode (SK58SRX), and an auto-deceleration switch is installed as standard. The shape of the access shutdown lever has been adapted and the door also opens widely for improved access. The window on the right side of the cab can be opened and closed both forwards and backwards to facilitate ventilation and make it easier to hear outside noise. In terms of operator safety, the high-strength cab/canopy meets ROPS, TOPS and OPG Level 1 (Top guard) standard, while an LED work light, which comes as standard, is mounted under the boom to protect from damage. The wiper mount has been moved to the upper right of the cab support and the skylight opening has also been enlarged, improving operator visibility of the jobsite. When it comes to cabin noise, Kobelco’s innovative Integrated Noise & Dust reduction cooling system (iNDr), usually seen in Kobelco’s heavier machines, is a superior method of noise suppression that promotes low noise as well as exceptional engine cooling, enhanced reliability, minimal machine downtime and a more comfortable working environment. The further improved iNDr+E system on the SK50/58SRX-7 functions in the same way as the iNDr system on the SR machines, but features air intake at the front of the machine and directs the muffler exhaust underneath. The exhaust is further slowed down and cooled through the offset duct and then discharged into the atmosphere. The SK50/58SRX-7 also offers easy access to the engine compartment, promoting easy daily maintenance that reduces time for inspection and cleaning. The iNDr filter has a high-density mesh of 30 lines per inch to collect dust.

Kubota has launched an LPG-powered mini-excavator alongside a fully electric track dumper, offering users even more options to drive down emissions.
Forming part of the manufacturer’s Smart Energy Solutions range, the new KX0194 SI HGL (LPG) mini-excavator and KC70H-4e track dumper utilise next-generation low and zero emissions technology, all while providing the same proven performance and capabilities of Kubota’s most compact and versatile machines. Powered by LPG, the KX019-4 SI HGL (LPG)’s Spark Ignition engine enables dramatically reduced emissions and toxicity in the familiar form factor while offering the same levels of performance and productivity as the standard KX019-4. Compared to diesel engines, the new excavator emits almost zero particulate matter and reduces nitrous oxide and hydrocarbon emissions to just 5% of an equivalent diesel engine. On site, LPG offers a number of advantages over traditional fuels. Refueling is simpler, faster, and unlike diesel fuel, the canisters cannot contaminate the work site through spillages. Kubota’s Spark Ignition engine no longer requires a diesel particulate filter, reducing the need for maintenance, and operates at lower noise levels, while providing the same levels of power as before. The KX0194 LPG’s all-day uptime, quieter operation and 2.5m dig depth ensure the new machine is among Kubota’s most versatile mini-excavators, capable of operating anywhere and at any time of day or night. The KC70H-4e offers the same performance and productivity improvements introduced with the KC70 in a fully electric, zero-emission solution. Its fast charge time and all day continuous run time work hand-in-hand to maximise time on site, while its 700kg load capacity, compact design and low noise engine make the machine perfect for use in any environment at any time of day, including in low emissions areas. Glen Hampson, Construction Division Manager at Kubota, said: “We believe our customers shouldn’t have to compromise on productivity or power when it comes to the tools that help them get the job done. That’s why when we introduce a new technology, such as the KX0194 SI HGL (LPG) Spark Ignition engine or the KC70H-4e’s lithium battery, we do so in a way that ensures our customers can rely on the machine’s quality and reliability just as much as before.”

Mecalac Unveils MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotators
Mecalac has unveiled its MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotators and dedicated grading buckets; available for Mecalac crawler excavators and wheeled excavators fitted with the CONNECT hydraulic quick coupler, the new MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotators offer even more possibilities.
This integrated Mecalac solution consists of a Tiltrotator between two CONNECT quick couplers, fitted directly at the factory, alongside a specially designed grading bucket. The Mecalac MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotators allow for a 360° rotation in both directions, as well as a 40° tilt left and right for various attachments, including hydromechanical tools such as grapples. Véronique Kennerson, Product Specialist for Excavators at Mecalac, explains: “Fully integrated into the machine, our Tiltrotators further enhance the versatility and productivity of Mecalac excavators. Thanks to their sandwich mounting between two CONNECT quick couplers, the operator can easily remove either the tool or the entire tool-tiltrotator system to immediately resume work with a 4x1 or loader bucket, for example. “Another great advantage is that the Mecalac Tiltrotator, while extremely robust and powerful, is also one of the lightest on the market.” The unrivalled stability of Mecalac excavators makes them ideal for tiltrotators. Mecalac’s patented kinematics, in particular, come into their own. The boom, which is positioned far back, is perfect when weight is added to the end of the stick, as it acts as a counterweight. As for the two-piece boom with offset kinematics, they will allow you to position your tools ideally when used with the Tiltrotator. The offset at the top of the boom (standard), combined with the Tiltrotator, further increases the 360° capabilities of Mecalac excavators. Operators are able to dig deeper trenches than ever before, in parallel with the machine. The combination of offset and Tiltrotator offers almost infinite possibilities. It means more accurate results, faster work, less repositioning of the machine and greater safety on the job site.
Option
The Mecalac MR50 and MR60 Tiltrotator Option includes dedicated multi-function joysticks, various Tiltrotator configurations and settings as well as “Home” (return to operator preset position) and “Bucket Shake” functions. To further meet the needs of operators, Mecalac Tiltrotators are available with or without a grap module. Acting as a grapple, this allows objects to be grabbed and moved while keeping the tool mounted on the Tiltrotator. Available with a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty, Mecalac Tiltrotators are already available for the 11MWR and 9MWR wheeled excavators. Over the coming months, they will gradually be introduced for the 8MCR and 10MCR crawler skid excavators, followed by the 15MWR wheeled excavator, the 15MC crawler excavator and finally the 12MTX wheeled excavator loader. The Tiltrotator option has been designed for seamless integration into these machines while maintaining performance. The proven flexibility of Mecalac excavators is further enhanced by adding a Tiltrotator, creating limitless possibilities.
