FLOWING -
SITE
THE CONTEX T OF LIFE.
The philosophy of the project is to restore and create a relationship between water front and green axis and also in memory of its historical context.
Greenway Mainroad
We create an undulating green space stretching from the beginning to the end of the boulevard which inspire from the river flow where the existing site used to be. The flowing and dynamic gravel paving and green space takes the formal language of the general topography. The open space generate various situations. Through the boulevard one can sense the organic surface, giving the impression that the green space is suspended over the ground. The organic shapes of the topography are underlined by a carpet of low shrubs and bushes. Rainwater is infiltrate on the site, the hollows are occupied by lush wetland vegetation.
Historical Hotspot Transportation Nodes
The dynamic green space sequence will provide 3 different type of space. The flowing、 Stilling and half stilling- half flowing space. The type of fl ow i ng sp ac e c an offer our user s go through the boulevard in a efficient way which they can do activities such as running or walking. We also offer a stilling space which people can sit and enjoy the breeze and sunshine. The third type half & half which allow some events street performer can do the performance and people can enjoy the events without blocking the pedestrian moving.
Sunshine
Intensity
By using the software program of sun light analysis we get the idea of how we re-arrange open space and space sequence and find the characters of our site.

The site sit in the area of residential and commercial mixed and it is also the most important business district. The goal is to gain the high quality of life by remain existing land use, integrate movement of site, improve the accessibility of the riverbank . Friendly open space design , depending on the intensity of use are planned as follows: f l o w i n g , h a l f- f l o w i n g a n d p l a c e t o s t a y.

By re-arrange of the tree positions we tr y to propose a logic of environment layout w h i c h w e t a ke h u m i d i t y 、 t e m p e r a t u re 、wind as variation of our site , af ter study and review the relationship of p u b l i c re a l m c h a r a c te r we w i l l p ro d u c e the best condition of our layout.
As a landscape architect we put p eop l e at the hear t of our desi gn process. We sculpt the land so it unfolds as the visitor walks thr ough i t. We desi gn l andsc ap es which change through the day, through the seasons, through different uses. We try to make landscapes be more experienced, owned and loved.

The project site is on the riverbeds of the Dahan River; it is connected to the river’s rich and broad park-like landscape. Furthermore, this river has overcome its former environmental contamination and is working towards regaining a new relationship between water and its environment. Circulation of Air Current
A Museum for the New Age
Inheriting the history of the site’s water environment, a large water-basin of purified water will be placed in the front-side of the museum, as water will be the overall motif of this project.
In addition, a close-fitting connection with the building’s peripheral and outside landscape is provided through the internal ravine, making it an interface for external environment and internal space.
The mass of the wood-sealed concrete expresses the mass of the landscape; it includes a 35 meterhigh ravine-like space as if it was drilled by water current. This space has a significant role, being the main circulation passage of public space.
This ravine softens the powerful external sunlight when it draws it inside. In terms of equipment planning, the ravine also functions as an air current passageway for air circulation; it fixes the interior air environment comfortably stable while it also aims at energy conservation.
As an embodiment of a new museum in the 21st century, this project enhances a space for children to interact with nature and art; also, a space to educate artists will be provided in the arts section where art studios will be invited proactively. These spaces will be designed to coexist with the tranquil upper museum.
