Manager’s Corner

April 1, 2022

Dear TGO Community, Flowers are in bloom throughout TGO. Happy April 1st everyone! Today is April Fool’s Day, so don’t miss this perfect opportunity to play a prank on your family or friends without worrying about them getting mad at you. This is also the time of year when many TGO residents are preparing their migration north. Please plan to maintain your property while you are away. Services are available to watch your Florida home and keep the weeds out of your gardens. I am told that a growing number of TGO residents will extend their stay at TGO this year. Those who remain in the community this summer will appreciate your eff orts to care for your vacant property. Let’s all do our part to maintain our curb appeal! Covid-19 has changed the way people shop. Online shopping is now booming, and this trend has exploded the number of packages our TGO Mail Center handles daily. Have you thanked your TGO Mail Center team lately? Kathy and her team (Nancy, Pat, Tacy and Debbie) work very hard to service over 1400 mailboxes every day. They receive and handle all packages that are too large for the parcel lockers outside. These packages are unloaded into the Mail Center at one time. You probably get a notice to your phone or email that your package has arrived from its carrier, but please be patient as the mail center needs a little time to sort it, mark it, and put a notice in your mailbox. Our mail center team processed a record 3200 packages in February, which is more than the Christmas rush! They handle all these packages along with servicing customers at the counter, putting mail in your mailboxes, answering phones and so much more. Kathy and team are exceptional multi-taskers! Chairman Tom Wheir wrote about unauthorized cutting on CSA property in his Chairman’s Notes last week. I will cover this topic too, because recently some unauthorized cutting on CSA property caused unnecessary discord between neighbors. Our Declaration of Covenants states that “No CSA land may be cleared of any vegetation without prior written permission from the Board of Directors or its designee. Unauthorized clearing of CSA property will result in a hearing, with possible fi nes and ordered replanting.” Please know your property lines. I recognize that some CSA land behind your home may be unappealing, but the fact remains that you must have permission to cut vegetation beyond your property line. Moving forward and for tracking purposes, you must now display an approved ARC permit if you wish to cut vegetation on CSA land behind your home. This will help us determine property lines. The permit will include my signature, and a copy of the permit will be placed in you ARC fi le for documentation purposes. Doggie World is a busy gathering place for friends with two and four legs. Your CSA Board of Directors recently approved the extension of specifi c small and large dog hours from seasonal to year-round. This is a good opportunity to remind dog owners to please review the Doggie World Rules brochure. This brochure is posted at Doggie World and available also in the CSA offi ce. Dog owners must watch and remain responsible for their dogs at all times. No food or drinks may be brought into doggie world with the exception of small dog treats. Thank you all for keeping Doggie World a top-notch amenity at TGO. By now you may know that TGO will conduct a wildfi re evacuation exercise on Friday, April 8. There is no action required or expected from our residents. This is simply a test of our readiness, emergency communications and cooperation with local emergency authorities in the event of a fast-moving wildfi re threat. If this was a real emergency, you would receive instructions via our mass communication system. Sincerely,

Billy Specht CSA Manager
