St. Augustine is a city on the northeast coast of Florida, an easy two hour drive from The Great Outdoors. It lays claim to being the oldest city in the United States and is known for its Spanish colonial architecture as well as Atlantic Ocean beaches like St. Augustine Beach and Crescent Beach. Anastasia State Park is a protected wildlife sanctuary located in St. Augustine. By Robin Francis Anastasia’s beautiful beach attracts walkers, joggers, anglers, birders and nature lovers. Beach breaks and seasonally warm water draws surfers and kayakers. You can walk the beach and look for shells, birds, dolphins and whales. There are more than four miles of beach for walking and biking along with lots of trails and park roads. It’s a beautiful spot to watch the sun come up! Anastasia Watersports rents canoes, kayaks, sailboats and stand-up paddleboards and lessons are available for the various watersports. There are several launch areas available. There is an Island Beach Shop and Grill that sells beach, camping and fi shing supplies, and also rents bicycles and surfboards. Anastasia has three picnic areas with tables and restrooms, in addition to three playgrounds. Anastasia’s full-facility campground features 139 sites with electric and water hookups for RVs and tents. Campground sites are for RVs that are 35’ or less. TIP: Reservations are diffi cult to get! We made our reservations 11 months in advance. Showers and laundry facilities are available. A dump station is available at no charge. Wifi is available at the Island Beach Shop and Grill as well as the day use area. Internet service at our campsite was satisfactory on our Verizon service. Depending on where your campsite is located in the park, it is about a mile walk or ride to the beach parking area. Pets are prohibited on the beaches and boardwalks but are allowed in the campsites. Fishing, boating, swimming and fi res are allowed in designated areas only. We would highly recommend this beautiful Florida State Park. It is located close to many of the St. Augustine attractions. There are many places of interest in this, the nation’s oldest city, that you will never be lacking for something to do. Or, you can sit and listen to the waves on the beach if you prefer. Either way, you can’t go wrong.

Directions: From I-95 take exit 311. Go East on State Road 207. Turn right on State Road 312 East. Turn left (north) A1A. Travel approximately 1.5 miles north to main park entrance. Rates: $28.00 per night. Florida residents over the age of 65 are half price and pay $14.00. Recently, Florida State Parks has added an additional fee of $7.00 per night for utilities. Reservation fee is $6.70
