Boys of WINDY KNOLL
Sale close MARCH 19, 2023 AT 7PM ATLANTIC
We’d like to welcome you to our First Annual Boys of Windy Knoll Online Bull Sale! We’re excited about the set of bulls that we have on offer and believe this is the best set of bulls from top to bottom that we’ve ever raised. If I told you this isn’t a bit scary I’d be lying, but we’ve been selling bulls for the past 20 years and as our customer base expands we believed it was time to switch to this format.

bulls work in other programs. The beef market in North America has seen a very good start to 2023 but we believe the best is yet to come and pounds will really pay in this next cycle.
ONLINE bull sale
We would like to thank all of the breeders from across the country that showed interest, bought or bid on cattle in our ladies of Windy Knoll Online Female Sale. We were excited with the results and that gave us the push to continue with the same format for our bull sale. We know there will be some growing pains switching to this format for our bulls but we are excited to show you what we have to offer and offer it in this way.
We live and breathe this business and holidays are spent touring cattle, at cattle shows, or searching for cattle that we need to incorporate into our program from operations across the country. We have invested heavily the past few years in some of the best females, embryos, and bulls/semen that we could find that we felt fit the direction we need to go with our program and our customers programs.
In the past 20 years we have sold bulls to great commercial and purebred breeders across the country, into the US and even to Mexico. We were even honored to have our bulls in the Select Sires and Bouchard Livestock AI catalogues. But our real goal is to build relationships with our customers and have our bulls work for our customers and to put pounds in the right package to help them be as profitable as possible. The biggest reward has been seeing our
We know that there isn’t a huge amount of cows around us in the Maritimes and while our main market has been to some of the very progressive breeders in the Maritimes in the past few years, we’ve also worked very closely with some great commercial herds in Quebec. Lately we have also sent bulls to Ontario and the prairie provinces so are very familiar with the process. We know that it isn’t easy to buy sight unseen but we will have videos of all of the bulls that accurately represent them and have pictures of all the bulls and many of their dams. We will also work with customers to line up delivery anywhere in the most cost effective way possible and will definitely work with you on that.
We want you to get the bull that fits your cow herd and breeding program in the best way possible, so just send us a text or give us a call and let us know your needs and we will point you in the right direction the best we can. Scott Bohrson from Bohrson Marketing was here to see the bulls and their dams this spring and can also help with your selections and offer another opinion on the bulls. Or better yet, if you are in the Maritimes come for a tour and see the bulls in person and the cow herd that backs them!
Thank you for taking the time to look through our catalogue and please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Sincerely, Laura

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a racehorse style sale close? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.
How will extended bidding work? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
supreme champion bull Classic Heritage Beef Show
Notion 26K has been a pen favourite for over a year now and has been a stud since he was 2 weeks old. We campaigned him at the Classic Heritage Beef Show, his only trip around the show ring and he was Champion Simmental Bull and finished off the weekend as Supreme Champion Bull. His dam is a farm favourite and much like her dam, is a tanky female that seems to knock it out of the park every year. For this reason we have retained every sister to 26K. Simply put, power and milk run deep in the bottom side of his pedigree. On the top side of his pedigree is the great RF Supercharged that adds to the pedigree in terms of performance and maternal power being backed by one of the most famous cows in the breed, 202Z. If you’re looking for a bull to add power, performance and milk, we don’t think you can go wrong with Notion 26K.

The easiest way to add pounds to a calf crop is by adding length but the hardest thing to add to a calf crop is length. For as similar as these three brothers are they are all unique in their own way. One trait that they all carry is extra length and still maintain a massive amount of muscle and mass to go along with it. When we invested in Flirt 824F our plan was to make her into a donor cow and build a cow family around her. She’s royally bred and stacked with the who’s who of donor cows in the Rancier program. Her dam is a full sister to the Canadian Sires bull, RF Merchant. Her sire, RF Stimulus, is a maternal brother to RF Caliber and out of the great RF Not Just a Flirt 404B who has just started making her mark on the breed. We are very excited about the first three daughters to calve out of 824F and they are destined for the donor pen in our program. They are huge ribbed, great uddered females with an awesome foot. Exactly the kind of females we want to build around and exciting sisters to these bulls. Flirt 824F throws incredible length into her calves along with extra stoutness and does all that while maintaining extra style which is a very unique combination. No matter which side of the pedigree you check on these three full brothers you’ll find at least 4 generations of donor cows that you can be assured that feet, udders and maternal power are locked in. Truly a unique opportunity to get a bull that will have an impact on your cow herd for generations.
Torsion 44K Torque 45K9K started with just a 74 lb bw and is a deep bodied bull that carries his depth back into his flank and hind quarter and is still upheaded and attractive. He is full of performance and is backed by great cows on both sides of his pedigree. This is the first set of sons out of our Ruger bull that sold to Danny Bergeron. When we bought his dam, RF Flirt 824F, the plan was to keep every daughter and build our black program around her. The bonus was getting a bull like Ruger to use in our program. 9K’s dam is a great footed and uddered RF Captain Black cow that everyone could have more of. He is packed full of maternal power and still has real world performance to go with it. Check out Regulator 9K and his video if you want a heavy set of sons and a group of heifers that you’ll want to keep every single one.
Lit Up 16K is a homo polled, homo black bull that is high up on our list of favourites, he’s stout, super soggy and long. His dam is a tidy uddered, long bodied, good footed female that comes from a cow family that has always done well in the show ring and more importantly have been very productive cows. WKF Ruger on the top side makes for a very unique outcross with lots of maternal power. We feel that Lit Up has the potential to make some very good heifers and bulls that you’ll want to keep.
Commotion 4K is another bull straight from our ET program. His dam, RF Flirt 034H, was a Friday Night Lights purchase and her dam is a donor in the Rancier Farms program. A maternal brother to her is in the ALTA genetics semen book and other maternal brothers are working in purebred herds. Big bodied, broody cows and great feet line the bottom side of the pedigree. The mating with RF Supercharged really clicked on her. 4K is stout, big middled and super hairy. If you need performance, check out the EPD’s on this bull - Top 3% for weaning weight and top 4% for yearling weight and real performance that backs up the EPD’s too!
WKF BLACK LIST 37K
Black List 37K is a smooth made, big nutted bull. His dam is a dark red, broody, Red Force cow that goes back to our WKF Xia cow that has always been a great producer. Lots of calving ease on the bottom side with Red Force, Shear Force and Gunner combined with the power from the top side makes for a unique combination and the best of both worlds all in one.
WKF YOUNGBLOOD 77K
Dark red and a perfect blaze face is so tough to get without a bunch of extra white in the spots you don’t want it, but this WKF Ruger son does just that. He’s massive middled, deep and stout from behind, big topped and moves like a cat. The first set of Ruger calves are so exciting and his great Radium sired dam just adds another unique outcross that can be used in so many programs. If you’ve found it as hard as we have to find that dark red bull with the perfect blaze, check out Youngblood 77K!
90K is a WKF Fully Loaded son that has a ton of presence and style and is super shapey in his makeup. He’s just an April calf that doesn’t give up any performance after starting with just an 81 lb bw. His dam is a full sister to our lot 1 heifer that was a feature in our fall female sale. His sire is a bull that has seen heavy use in our program, was also in the Select Sires AI company lineup, and GB Livestock holds the Australian semen rights. We think you’ll like this guy when you see him.
Banter 33K is a homo polled, awesome profiling WKF Encore son. His dam is a stout made, bold ribbed, high producing female. 33K’s pedigree locks in the calving ease being double bred Bravo. Check out his EPD’s too with calving ease in the top 15% and bw in the top 35% of the breed. 33K is a big time calving ease prospect backed by great cows.
If longevity is important to you check out 32K. He is a massive middled bull with extra masculinity and moves around with ease. His dam is one of our favourites and always has been. She’s as deep as she is long and has always been a great producer and still going string at 15 years of age. A bull makes daughters like his dam so if you want cows that will last a long time check out our Admiral 32K.

Raider 36K is one of the most attractive fullblood bulls in the pen this year with his dark red color and goggles. It’s no wonder as his Rolex sired dam is a great uddered, long and stout made cow that has been highly productive and really hit it out of the park with 36K. If you’re looking for a bull to add milk to a set of cows, check out 36K as his EPD’s rank him in the top 15% of the breed for milk and his dam as a great udder to go with it. Raider 36K is a bull that will add a dark red colour and sogginess to a calf crop.
Baldwin 41K is a big, soggy WKF Encore son that is smooth made for as masculine and heavy as he is. His dam is a 9 year old cow that still gets the job done with a good udder and great feet to boot. 41K has a balanced set of EPD’s and will add milk to a set of daughters.
Sarge 6K is big hipped, big topped, great haired bull that will add length, pounds and milk to your calf crop. His Legend dam has always produced calves that push the scale down in the fall. She has been a bull maker, with sons working in herds throughout eastern Canada and one other son selling to Mexico. Not the darkest red bull in the pen but if you’re looking for quality and sell them by the pound don’t miss 6K!
Nyx 76K is a March born bull that is dark red and goggle eyed and comes with a heavy haircoat and extra length. His dam is a tanky, dark red and always raises a solid calf. We’ve been very happy with our WKF Encore calves and the first daughters are in production and we have been very pleased with them. Lots of performance in 76K for a later born calf and might very well be the sleeper in the pen on sale day so don’t miss him because of his age!
Anchor 100J is a September born extra age bull that will cover more cows and add some stretch and pounds to a calf crop. His dam is one of our favourites in the fall calving group and is doing a great job with her Radium heifer this season. The Imax calves are a rugged set of beef bulls but still come with some calving ease and 100J ranks in the top 10% of the breed for calving ease and top 15% for maternal calving ease - so keep every daughter. If you’re looking to add length and calving ease, Anchor is your man!
This Breaker son has us excited. Not only is he a long bodied, dark red bull with extra length and capacity but the pen of heifers sired by Breaker make us even more excited about the consistency and quality of the sire group and what Ace 126J can do. His dam as been a high producing cow and his grand dam was one of our favourite WKF Romeo cows that stayed in the herd for a long time and they were both massive middled, easy doing cows that threw extra shape and length into their calves. 126J has a balanced set of EPD’s and has real performance to back it up. If you need a bull to add pounds to a calf crop check out Ace 126J!

120J has a unique combination of extra muscle with a lot of calving ease in his pedigree. He has always stood out in our fall extra age program and is backed by one of our all time favorite angus cows. His dam is a great Bismarck cow that is as deep as she is long and his great grand dam was shown very successfully and even made the trip to the Toronto Royal for the national Jr beef heifer show. Motive on the top side really cements the maternal power in the pedigeee. You can never have too many Motive or Bismarck cows so it doesn’t get any better than having both in a pedigree. Another bull that will cover a few more cows being and extra age bull.

92K is a soggy made, hairy, Black Gold son. His dam is a massive ribbed, good uddered daughter of the great Bismarck bull. Bismarck daughters are timeless and combined with the Remington Final Answer daughter just adds to the maternal greatness of the pedigree. When you look through his pedigree there are lots of great sires that stack calving ease and cow makers on top of one another which truly adds to the predictability of 92K. Our Angus division isn’t big but we’re very proud of 92K and what he offers.
