Rhinelander is a premier year-round destination. Add these signature spots to your list as you explore our beautiful Northwoods.

HOLMBOE NATURE PRESERVE Enjoy peace and solitude on your walk through this beautiful, old-growth forest. Although the trail is less than a mile, it is one of the most beautiful places in the area to take a nature hike. The preserve features hemlock, giant red pines and white pines, white cedar and black spruce swamp all along the scenic Pelican River. This hidden gem is tucked back off of Boyce Drive. HODAG PARK Hodag Park is a large park stretching along the shore of Boom Lake. It is home to the annual July Fourth fireworks celebration, three baseball diamonds, a public beach and a large boat landing. There is also a tennis court and play area for kids, along with several pavilions that can be reserved for private

events. This is a very popular park for picnickers and walkers due to its location along the waterway and is a great spot to watch the sunset. Coming soon – the all new stage area for special events, concerts and more! WASHBURN SILENT SPORTS TRAILS The Washburn Silent Sports trails are located 7 miles west of Rhinelander. The Washburn Mountain Bike Trail offers approximately 5.0 miles of double-track trail for novice to intermediate skilled mountain bikers, and 6.0 miles of single-track trail designed to provide an extreme experience for mountain bikers possessing an advanced skill set. There are also cross country ski, hiking and snowshoe trails, and a warming shelter.
