We seek your cooperation in ensuring that your child carries a thermometer to school each day. The photographs are required by SMRT Corporation Ltd for the preparation of the EZ Link cards for distribution by April. 13. Pupil’s Diary (Compulsory) The Pupil’s Diary serves as an important communication tool between parents and teachers. It is also an organizational tool for pupils where they learn important self management skills and enter data for communication with parents. Form Teachers will be making use of the Pupil’s Diary to communicate with parents as well as to get them to record homework and set targets. 14. Road Safety There is heavy traffic during the start and end of school sessions. As children are vulnerable road users, it is important that we keep our school zone safe. The safety of school zones requires the cooperation of authorities such as schools, parents, motorists and the community. It is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that children are safe when using the roads near their schools. Safety Rules on AGPS school grounds On wet weather days, we will keep the gates open in the morning so that children may alight at the bus bay. If you drive into the bus bay, please drop off your child and exit immediately so as to ensure smooth traffic. We need your cooperation in getting your child or children to alight quickly to avoid traffic congestion from building up. The school grounds and its driveways will not be accessible to all parents’ cars after 7.30 am to 2.30 pm from Mondays to Fridays. To minimize movement, only parents who have official meeting with school personnel will be allowed to enter during these hours. Driving in school zones Slow down and drive more carefully when you are in the school zone. Be extra vigilant to watch out for children crossing the road as they may be easily blocked from your view due to their height. We seek your patience when you encounter heavy traffic at school zones during school peak hours. Please consider using alternative routes if you are rushing for time. Road Safety for children Please set the right example for your child to cross the road safely. Our pupils are taught to put their hand up to signal to motorists and drivers that it is their right of way when using pedestrian crossings. Show your child the potential safety hazards when crossing the road. If you drive your children to school, drop them off at safe and proper drop off points. This ensures not only your own child’s safety but also that of other road users. We thank you for the support and strong collaboration with the school and look forward to another year of fruitful work in giving our pupils the best education that they deserve.
